I came to him with 4 portraits of the Beatles to mount in one large frame (from the White Album... really cool shots!) , and he spent easily a half-hour with me trying to get the layout, frame and mat color just right. I left his store feeling very confident that my portraits would be mounted and framed with care and attention to detail. He estimated 2 weeks for the job, but when I stopped by and requested them sooner (I gave the finished work as a present), he was happy to oblige. 2 days later, the pictures were framed, and beautifully I might add. I am so thrilled with his work, I'll definitely be back if I have anything more to frame. I've never been to a framing store to have something professionally framed. This was a really cool little shop. They had a bunch of artwork and offer framing services. They have a bunch of unique stuff, the most exciting of which was little statues made of scrap metal. I had only ever seen this at a flea market in Chicago. I bought a little DJ with turntables made out of scrap, screws, nuts, bolts etc. It is really a cool, funky little statue. -And it was only $30, which was quite a steal! Great little shop! read more

Great shop! Really cool prints, and I love their souvernirs/magnet selection. Bruce is really awesome. I've been here multiple times to get passport photos, and not only did they come out great, but the service was also outstanding. (FYI - 2 for 8.99/4 for 13.99). However, one star comes off because I had a very odd/puzzling experience today. Bruce is currently away, and his substitute (or one of them, if there are many) was working at the register/counter. I came in for passport photos. My first impression was "indifferent" service, but that's fine since I don't need mind-blowing service for passport photos. We needed a set of 2 and a set of 8, a concept which seemed to completely disorient and confuse our counter person, even though it seemed pretty straightforward to us: 1 set of 2 for $8.99 and 2 sets of 4 for $13.99 each. Initially, he took a photo from a downward angle facing up, upon which we asked him to retake it. He adjusted the camera accordingly, still took a crooked photo, then proceeded to print it out. He apologized that it took some time for the photos to get printed, which added a nice touch, but when he proceeded to cut the photos crookedly and sloppily, that's when we realized that maybe it was the very first time he had EVER been asked to make passport photos, or that maybe he had NEVER encountered the concept of passport photos before. The government lays out some very specific guidelines for passport photos, which, if not followed, would mean a rejected application often for a very expensive and time-consuming process. In the grand scheme of things, having to retake passport photos is not too big of a deal, even with our packed work schedules. However, to avoid processing delays of several months and/or headaches and possibly some dizziness, we'll have to return at a time when the person in charge of passport photos here is either Bruce or someone who knows how to properly handle a 1) camera, and 2) a hole-punch style photo cutting device. read more

For as long as I've been living in Philadelphia, I've never framed something. I've bought picture frames at the cheapest place ever because I get away with having a fine taste and good eye for matching. Last year I got gifted a beautiful Moon Calendar poster. I checked relentlessly to find a frame on Etsy for this one but I couldn't. The sizing was very odd. Therefore, the sellers on Etsy would ask very hefty prices. I searched for framing stores in Philadelphia, specifically, Old City. I work in the area and it was just more convenient. I called a few places before landing at Vision Graphics. I went to the store and explained what I needed to frame and see what they had available. I spoke to the front desk girl (who was a sweetheart and very professional). She showed me the cheapest products they had there. I wasn't looking to spend a lot because at the end it was only a poster that would be up for only a year. The owner, Bruce, walked in and he asked me a few questions as well. I explained and I was so surprised when he was willing to work in giving me the cheapest and fairest price. He suggested a white frame they had on stock. That suggestion lit my eyes given that I had in mind a white frame with a minimalist feel. Before the New Years, I brought in my calendar and I got it after two weeks. I wasn't in a rush for it. I received it framed beautifully. I came to Bruce in dire need of making three custom framed pictures that I had in mind as a parting gift for my mentors. On top of that it had to be done in less than a week. If you do not have the graphic design skills and want to make something unique, special and professional looking, this is your place. The reason why I had less than a week to get this done was that I had been dealing with another store for the prior week or so with this project and it was getting nowhere. In fact, it was painful. Anyways, I emailed Bruce and his assistant Rebecca immediately after I realized this other place was not the place that would suit my needs. They were extremely helpful, understanding, and professional. I had assembled pictures that needed to be placed in particular patterns using minimal skills I had with PowerPoint. Rebecca and Bruce eased my anxiety and put their graphic design skills to good use. They helped sharpen those pictures that I had sent, made sure they were porportioned in an eshetically pleasing way. They went above and beyond. As well, Bruce was patient with me and spent a couple of hours going over every detail from the matting, the selection of frame and glass over on a Saturday. He was very meticulous and precise and made very useful suggestions to enhance my gifts. He comminicated with me everyday to tell me how they were progressing. The result was spectacular, and better than I could have imagined. And it was done on time as promised. My mentors were in awe of the pieces when they received it The price was a bit more than I initially budgeted for, but it was more than worth it. I stumbled on Vision Graphics in 2009 and since then, have never gone anywhere else for custom framing jobs. Bruce is incredible. His business deserves way more than 5 stars. We have had at least 10-12 pieces (at least!) framed by him and his team over the last seven years. Every time, his work has been outstanding. My husband and I are not the most decisive people and often have conflicting tastes when it comes to framing.
