From the owner: I approach every new project with the underlying belief that to properly frame a picture the frame…read moreitself must be well made. This is why I make my frames from beautiful solid hardwood using traditional joinery. In addition, I work with a curated selection of frame makers around the world, giving me the unique ability to produce frames with unlimited possibilities for designs that are in perfect harmony with the specific characteristics of each picture. More than a custom frame shop, I have a complete woodworking shop where I use beautiful hardwoods to make frames by hand with classic furniture-making techniques that have been adapted to the particularly refined and precise demands of picture frame-making. Since I combine frame design and production in one small shop, I'm able to, in effect, return to the pre-industrial era of picture framing longed for by the Arts & Crafts Movement, when craftsmen built frames one at a time for the picture, before it became a big business with factories producing pre-finished moulding only in trendy colors and styles. With my approach, I can produce truly inventive framing designs, invented in collaboration with my clients. Though I specialize in designs inspired by Tucson's design and architectural history, my process lends itself to transcending particular styles which offers you the opportunity to place your picture in the perfect setting, one that will endure in both design and craftsmanship.

I decided to check out the store, while waiting for an appointment down the street. I was really surprised they put out fall things and it seemed like a third of the store had been cleared away and recently well stocked with fall colors, pumpkin themed objects for the kitchen and for parties. I don't go they're all that often, but it seemed like there was either Christmas or fall things and anything for the summer was nearly gone. There were 2-3 aisles of picked over summer things on clearance for 66% off and all the fall things that look like they just put it out. It's quite overwhelming every time I go to Hobby Lobby. There is just so much to see. I find myself having a hard time, figuring out where things are and customers line up to check out. I didn't really see any staff walking around the store to help. I did pick up some craft thing items that I think that they carry all the time however, after a few minutes, I just wanted to get out of the store and I skedaddled. It did appear that almost everything in the store was discounted significantly, so nothing was the price on the package. It does make one feel like they're getting a deal.

Hobby lobby in California has always been my go to store for decorating. They have everything! Their customer service is always excellent! What else is left to say except for I love the store and the prices are wonderful. Everything I bought was either 40 to 50% off and you couldn't ask for more than that the selection that they have is amazing! And I've only known a few friends from California that had never been into a Hobby lobby. I think they live underneath the rock or something because if you've never been to a Hobby lobby make sure you have about 3 to 4 hours to wander through and pick out what you want because it's a store you will always come back to so to the workers/employees at 6484 North Oracle Rd. The message on the voicemail is not professional. I thought it was someone's residence, and the voice mailbox was full. I decided to just go and check it out. I discovered after I arrived that the owner had just passed away. There was a wait because the woman working at the counter (I believe it is the late owner's wife) didn't know what she was doing. I hope she is going to sell the business because she was stressed out and unprepared. Unfortunately, the store was out of 1/2 the items I needed for my class. I was about to pay for the few items they had and I told the woman that I was happy that students were offered the discount. The woman replied "No. My husband didn't do that". I calmly said that I was disappointed and would go somewhere else. She snidely remarked that that the discount would have only been around $3, so why didn't her business pick it up? I decided to buy the items. After she rang up my credit card she wasn't able to provide a receipt because the tape ran out. She didn't know where the tape was and said that I would have to wait for her staff member to replace it because he was with a customer. I told her I had to go so I wanted her to reverse the charges. She told me that I needed to calm down! No potential customer should have to deal with that kind of abuse. Posner's Art Store is so much better. Two people welcomed me. The store has a kit with everything I needed and I was out within 5 minutes!

Invaluable Educational Experience…read more What a masterclass in customer relations! I visited Sarnoff with a $250 budget seeking a quality ballpoint pen for daily professional use, and the staff provided exactly the guidance I needed. Their response to my needs, budget, and requirements was artfully pretentious. The combination of casual dismissiveness and practiced condescension when I expressed interest in their luxury pen selection? Remarkable. It takes real skill to make someone feel simultaneously invisible and judged. If I had a pen, I'd have taken earnest notes on their methods. I'm genuinely grateful for this experience. It crystallized my understanding of what I value in a retailer and motivated me to find exactly that elsewhere. Thanks to their tutelage in what customer service shouldn't be, I discovered the perfect pen (a LAMY 2000, ballpoint) from a different small business, one that sadly never learned to efficiently dispatch proles like myself. The pen is magnificent, the service I ultimately received was exemplary, and I have Sarnoff to thank for the educational journey that led me there. Sometimes the most valuable lessons come from the most unexpected teachers. Would I recommend Sarnoff? Absolutely! They're a perfect illustration of how not to treat customers, and provided you've the foresight to bring a pen, you can write your very own cautionary tale. Thanks, Sarnoff!
