Well I have to say I was very impressed by the professionalism, turnaround time and budget at what I can get for framing an original painting. I had done business with them before the pandemic in 2015 to frame a smaller painting on a website at artfinder.com. This time I was in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin and stumbled on an Art Gallery that had original oil on Canvas paintings from original artist below what an average original painting would cost at $1k or a grand . The name of that art gallery is Gold Coast Art Gallery in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin. I shall type or write a separate review for that place. Right now I'm focusing on the professional framing of this place that I am a returning customer for and I am very satisfied if not happy. A perfect five stars compared to another local Chicago framing place that I utilized last year because they were illegally open and the frame factory was closed. This year they were open since after the pandemic and they opened up businesses that are non-essential. They found a perfect frame that I like that wasn't going to break the bank. As a matter of fact in the near future I'm about to buy another painting from that scene art gallery and Lake Geneva Wisconsin and use the frame factory to frame again with the same frame that I got a budget that looks stunning in my guess bedroom and some other rooms on house to fill it with real original art of oil on Canvas and come back utilizing frame factory and doing the work. I have been coming to the Frame Factory for years to get my artwork and photos framed. I recently brought my sons diploma to be framed and they did an excellent job. My hope is that his diploma will last as long as the other photos that I have had framed. My photos from Prague have lasted 10 years and my artwork has lasted even longer. There is no doubt about it that the Frame Factory truly takes pride in the work they do. Excellent customer service and awesome to deal with. My dog passed away earlier this year and found a great framing option for his collar and paw print on Pinterest. Originally took these items to a nationwide craft store chain, big mistake. Did an awful job after 2 attempts, huge waste of time and money. Had other items done at Frame Factory so returned with my original inspiration. While bittersweet, the final product exceeded my expectations of my dogs belongings. As someone who has used various custom framing services in and around Chicago for years (I do a lot of needlework), I was extremely pleased with the quote I got for a project I brought in here. In fact, I think I've found my new go-to framing place! I worked with Nathan, and he was really, really helpful, and friendly to boot. And the fact that they'll have my project done in a week and a half or less? Who can argue with that? Also, the store is beautiful, and it was fun to wander around and check out all the different prints and types of framing they do. Bottom line: check this place out. It's fabulous. read more

I bought and used a $100 Groupon to have a two-piece family tree framed. Overall, I had a positive experience. I walked in one day and was immediately helped. I enjoyed picking out a frame and playing with mat combinations. The employee who helped me was bright, polite, and professional. The framing project was done two days early and I was able to pick it up from their other location (on Pulaski) that was more convenient for me. The family tree looked great! I loved that they carefully wrapped the framed piece in brown paper and gave me two hooks with nails. What I didn't like (and what will deter me from ever getting anything professionally framed) is the price. It cost $170 for my entire project (and I selected the least expensive frame and mat). I think the price is reasonable, but I'd rather buy a cheap frame from Target and do the deed myself. read more

So for my girlfriend's birthday I was going to get some of her awards, medals etc framed. After going to various framing places throughout chicagoland I randomly came here. The salesperson was really nice and extremely knowledgeable. I explained my budget and she tried to find ways for me to stick within it. The final price was about $500 dollars. I know this may sound like a lot but the other places I went to were much higher. One place even wanted me to pay $750! So yes I feel I got a bargain here. I put down a deposit which was half the price. Then I was given a specific date that the work would be done. Guess what? They actually called me on that date to tell me it was ready! I was shocked. Some places drag it out and then you don't get your things on time blah, blah, blah. This place gave me a date and actually stuck with it! :-) When I went in to pick it up it looked so good! The salespeople all came to look and admire. Overall I think they were really helpful and super friendly. The best part is my girlfriend loved it! read more

I just picked up three pieces that I had them do for me, and I am blown-away by both how good they look and how professional the entire experience was. While in New Orleans last September my girlfriend bought three small paintings done by local artists, and I decided to frame them for her as a Valentine's gift. I took them in and a couple of staff members and I played around with mat and frame combos for while, and we nailed it. These look even better than I'd hoped they would. There also were potential complications with removing the matting that came with the paintings, but they handled that flawlessly (including placing an extra call and email to me when they were about to attempt it, just to make sure that I was okay with the attempt). I've framed things myself, had less-pricey places do pieces, and paid for premium service before. If done well, the extra $ spent on the premium service is completely worth it, especially if you want the piece(s) to stand-up over time. I have gone to Frame Factory exclusively for at least 20 years (I followed them from Diversey to Ashland to Webster) for both my personal and art business framing. Their quality and customer service is unparalleled. My work has nearly always been ready when promised (or , if not, a reason was provided). Their workmanship is the best. For our business, people ALWAYS complimented us on the quality of our framing. The staff is fabulous - Cindy is the very best. They have a great selection. Framing IS expensive but you get what you pay for and Frame Factory prices are fair and less than some other custom framing places. Sure you can get framing cheaper at a chain or do it yourself place. But these guys are PROFESSIONALS and their work can MAKE a piece of art for sure. Not much to say, except that this place is top-notch. The service was amazing, super friendly and very helpful. The end product looked even better than I ever could have imagined. Getting anything custom framed is never cheap, so if you complain about something like price then you're better off cutting your own crooked mats and buying stock from frames from Target. You have to pay for quality to get quality and this place is exactly that...QUALITY. I personally will be back with a few more pieces that need to be framed, but first I just need to get this whole wedding thing outta the way first. read more

I also appreciated that there was no attempt to fix the frame nor any advice on how to repair it. I was told it couldn't be repaired so my only option was to buy a new frame or deal with the crack. Not knowing how to repair the frame and getting no advice from the store, I went home and glued it myself. It has worked so far. Once he brought it to be framed here, it was between me and them, via email and phone, to get it framed and shipped to Atlanta within 6 days. I've had a number of pieces framed at this wonderful shop, and have recommended this place and seen the work done for several of my friends: and always the end results are impeccable. The selection of frames is vast and provides such a broad range that almost anyone would be hard pressed not to find numerous options to choose from for any given piece of art. As far as pricing is concerned, good framing isn't a particularly inexpensive proposition; however the dollars spent here are not as high as they would be at many shops, and it's more than justified by the superior quality of the work and comprehensive choices (that, by the way, hit a wide range of price points). And most importantly the staff is excellent on the whole: polite, knowledgeable and helpful. Not to play favorites- all the employees I've come into contact with are superb- but the winning Erin is a gem of a salesperson. She's been invaluable in selection, providing a good sounding board so one is able to winnow down all the options to that one perfect choice; she's thorough at inspection, making sure your understand the condition of your artwork; and she's just plain warm and funny & makes the whole process a blast. Kudos to this excellent frame shop and its owner, who I've had the good fortune to speak with on a couple of occasions (she genuinely cares about her customers satisfaction and is passionate about framing...what more could you ask for in a proprietor). DO NOT take your precious items to be framed here. I went to this place thinking that I wanted to support a local business, but got the WORST customer service. They will treat you nice and help you pick out a frame, etc., but they will mislead you as to how long it will take and then they will not call you to tell you about the delay. I ended up calling after the 2-week promised period and they said they would call me back the following week after the fabric had arrived. They didn't call. I called again and they said it would be ready by the end of the week. I think they forgot about the order, and they definitely forgot to call me. When I got one of the items back, the piece had a crease in it. There wasn't a crease when I brought it there. I think the crease happened when someone placed a weight on the corner to lay out the piece. I asked for a discount for the horrible service and they did not give me one. They acted all smiley when I picked up my items. The people responsible did not directly aplogize to me; the manager was a bit more responsive. I am very very very disappointed about the service here. After promising about a 2-week time period, they ended up having my original items for one month! 30 days?! Really?! And you can't call me to explain what is going on. DO NOT GO HERE. read more
