I had tried a few places since relocating from the shangri-la of Philadelphia; none of which were that bad (but not great either), all of which were expensive. I mean like 2-3x what I paid in the 215th. $70 for a clipper cut...come on, fam. So, I was still on the lookout for the Bethesdan home base. I saw Sinatra's situated right across the street from one of my Bethesda favs, The Writer's Center, and thought I'd give that a try next. It was a good call. The space is clean, and professionally put together. Check. I was getting ye ol' tighten up from "Q". Star Trek reference, I think not. Super chill. Super professional. Didn't rush through the job, and it was (and is) an excellent cut. With a men's haircut you also get a wash...from a most expert washer. It was more like a dang head massage...awesome. (Btw, tip your washer). And if you need a cherry on top, they were spinning some old school hip-hop. All of this brought me to $50 (plus tip). Sinatra's, for me, is an absolute no brainer. Since, this salon was just renovated everything's brand new. I like the open air and modern concept. I am now familiar with the parking and directions to get to the building. It was a little tricky at first. But, my favorite part of the salon is my stylist, DK. He is an expert professional and does a precise job with cutting and styling my hair. I had shoulder length hair and wanted a graduated bob. Most hair stylists haven't been able to pull it off at all, but Melanie did an incredible job! She worked on my hair meticulously for an hour and 15 minutes and angled and thinned it absolutely perfectly!!! Best haircut I've ever gotten! One tip for anyone who goes- I should have booked it as a "transformation haircut" because I was changing the look of my hair so much. this is my go to place and is usually a great experience, however this time the hairdresser I had…read moredid not listen to what I asked and do the full service. I had an older woman and I asked for long layers and provided a picture. I asked her to just cut the dead ends which was about 1/2-1 inch, and I showed her what I wanted cut. I booked for a wash, cut, and style. When I was going to get my hair washed all she did was wet it and did not shampoo or condition my hair. then when she went to cut it she started cutting off 3 inches of hair, which is not what I asked for and was a very awkward length. After she cut it and my hair is still soaking she said she was finished. I told her that I had booked for it to be styled and she told me I was 30 minutes late and her next costumer was there. I had arrived nearly 10 minutes early and while my appointment was originally for 6 it got updated to 6:30, and I arrived around 6:20 per the salons request. In the end she took me at 6:30 and stopped at 6:45. I understand that mistakes can happen, but when I asked her about the booking being 6:30 and not have had my hair styled she was dismissive and waved me away. So in conclusion, I had to pay for a service I didn't fully get, a haircut much shorter than I asked for, and had to walk home with soaking wet hair
