Staff was very respectful and helpful. Want to give a special thanks to Patrice Rogers and Mr. Grooseman as the went out of their way to help in any possible way.

I found out he was laid to rest in this cemetery by searching on Find A Grave. Since we are practicing social distancing I thought what better place to avoid people then a cemetery. I went to my parents grave first in Cass county and left some flowers , then drive back to Kokomo on my way home. This cemetery is much like the one in Cass County...flat stones but this cemetery at least has some nice large mature trees. I quickly realized I couldn't drive around and look for names since it's all flat. I gave there office a call and told them who I was looking for. Two young ladies drove over to where I was parked and I followed them in my car to the row I needed. They were super helpful, I never would have found it on my own. He's been gone 13 years and still no stone, it's very sad. His mother is next to him and she does have a headstone. Next time I'm in the area I will be sure to bring some flowers for both sites. Now that I know where it is. The dead should never be forgotten.

Each cemetery has it's on feel based on the these elements, as well as the living relatives that visit their deceased family members and leave flowers or memorabilia for their loved ones. This cemetery seems to have two distinct sections. The back of the cemetery is older, not due to the tombstones, but the lovely, large trees that shade the grounds. The front section is completely devoid of trees, leaving the grass burned and thinning. However, the grass that is there is kept clean and short. They just need to plant some trees. At least get some starters going for the future.

In searching my roots I traveled back to Monticello, Indiana, a town I spent a few years in as a…read morechild. On this trip I was hunting down the grave of my great grandmother. Unfortunately back in 1947 there were no finances for a headstone and I found nothing but grass at her designated burial place. But she was in the roster of permanent residents and her history was well annotated. The cemetery is well kept by IOOF (Independent Order Of Odd Fellows). There was a house on the property with 3 phone numbers on the door to call if you needed help. We called the first number, Joe Randolph. Calling from an Illinois phone number we assured him we weren't trying to extend the warantee on his car and told him we were at the cemetery looking up my great grandmothers grave. He gladly came right out and took note of my details on Marie Tinz Schaefer and with poster board in hand went to find where she rested. Joe was very helpful but alas there was no stone. We left our number with him in case any other information was found, thanked him, took these two pictures and went on our way.
