I had decided that I needed to move somewhere else for a year so I would be able to grieve properly. Unfortunately, I was unable to grieve at home. The day before I was supposed to leave for Florida, one of my children stole my husband's now my car. I had began packing the car with items that I definitely did not want to forget, like my husband's ashes. So, not only was the car stolen, but his ashes were stolen as well. I got the ashes back about a month ago. Unfortunately, I could not open the container that contained the ashes. Off to the funeral home I go in there, Mr. Hintzman very kindly open them up for me. I absolutely adore Mr. Hintzman, and everyone else that works there. They don't stop helping you when the funeral is over. They do not forget about you. This is a level of care that I have never seen in a funeral home before. Thank you from the bottom of my heart, Mr. Hintzman and staff. You are absolutely, without a doubt, one of the best businesses that I have ever had to deal with.

My grandfather, Richard Roleck, passed away 2 weeks ago. Last week, Hitzeman Funeral Services took…read moreon the job of providing funeral services for my grandfather. Top to bottom, Hitzeman Funeral Home did such a great job for our family. Scott, the funeral director on duty for the 2 days we needed the funeral home, was very accommodating towards our family. He was a very personable person that went above and beyond to welcome and provide for everybody. Next, the funeral home did a great job with their presentation. Hitzeman did an excellent job of preparation for an open casket funeral within a matter of 4 days after my grandfathers death. And, the arrangements of flowers near his casket were prepared perfectly. There were at least 2-3 different televisions in the chapel that ran a slideshow of the best pictures all throughout my grandpa's life, over his many years. And those ran all day long without any problems. Next, there was plenty of space inside the funeral home to accommodate several people. We had several extended family members, and personal friends of my grandpa, and our families come to the visitation. And, there was plenty of space inside the chapel to accommodate the several visitors that stopped by during the visitation. The funeral procession line was well prepared. On a busy downtown street, they did a great job of making sure all cars would be able to get out of the parking lot all at the same time, and would be able to follow each other. The same can be said for their ability to make a funeral procession line after the church services. Since the house my grandpa lived in for over 50 years in Brookfield was less than 2 miles away from the funeral home, our family wanted to all drive by his house one last time before driving to the cemetery, which was a few miles up on the other side of the highway. Scott and the staff went above and beyond to ensure all of the cars in our family would be able to follow each other from the church to my grandpa's old house, while on a tight residential road, and then, all the way on the busy daytime traffic on I-55 to get to his resting place. If you need to find a funeral home and visitation center anywhere in the Brookfield and La Grange area, this is the one you want to use! Hitzeman will do an excellent job catering to the needs of your family, and the wishes of your loved ones. It will always be tough when a beloved family member passes away. But you can count on Hitzeman to provide excellent service for your loved ones. They exceeded my expectations by all means. I would recommend this funeral home to anybody in Chicago, or in the north or west suburbs to use.
