I have been looking for a place in Barrie to have a quick meal. I am limited by some food issues,…read moreand sometimes time is at a premium. "Goodness Me" is a health food store with extras available, including fresh baked goods, and a service counter and salad bar. They provide several fresh dishes on a salad bar, and a counter where they have about 10-12 hot dishes that you can choose from. The food is fast, and the staff is helpful and friendly. The pricing is good. My experience has been that it is best to go earlier in the day when the food is fresh. Like any other buffet type "restaurant" the food tends to get pretty thick if it has been sitting around for a while. There are lots of good options for people looking for gluten free options, but the potential for cross contamination is there if you are very sensitive.l to gluten. They also had 3 fresh soups available and regularly have chilli. The pricing is much better to offerings such as Nature's emporium. I found the price to be at least 25% less. They also have a pretty hefty discount at the end of the day on food if you are so inclined. I did it once, the price was fantastic, but the butter fish was like glue. ;) Overall, a good place to have a healthy and quick easy bite.

We went last weekend, it was a lot of people and kids there. This is a huge farm that lots of…read morevarieties to pick. Now it's a good time to pick strawberries, raspberry, blueberries, peas, and corns. There are wagons to take ppl from one field to another. We got off at the strawberry field, but we don't really into the strawberry, so just took a look; then we got to the raspberry field, they looked good, but we barely eat raspberry; then we went to the Blueberry field, our destination was here. We saw another side of the field was having big blueberries, but they didn't open that side to us. And they said it was noon already, most of the big ones had been picked. I tasted a few, they were sort of big, but soured. We moved to other sides, but still the same. When we went home, most of them we made smoothies with honey. We also went to the peas field, not too many people. The peas were so sweet that we could eat them raw. But we went home to boil them with the skin, the skin was hard to eat, it was not snow peas, and too expensive when weighed with the skin. Good experience for the kids. They were happy.

Unfortunately, the 1.5 hour drive to Barrie hill farms wasn't worth it. The market had a wide variety of vegetables, fruits, and baked goods, most of which are higher priced than competitors. We bought some nectarines and an apple pie, which didn't taste that fresh and resembled those from the supermarket. The highlight was the blueberry scones, which was fresh and made with Barrie hill fruits. As others mentioned, admission to pick your own area is $7 per person on weekends, and the price is in addition to the picking, which were $19 for a bag of apples. Not a fan of the prices, and the quality of fruits and baked goods could be better compared to other farms I've been to.
