My wife and I stopped by for a late lunch Saturday 10/12/19. She ordered the 3 Alarm Burger and I ordered a all meat Pizza. The Pizza was huge!! Both the Hamburger and the Pizza were excellent!! The staff couldn't be nicer. Riley, the dog, is super sweet. It was so much food we took more than half home. Well worth the stop and I would recommend Fox Fire to anyone. read more

Great little gem in Alpine! We pass through Alpine often, but rarely stop for a meal. This time we decided to stop and stay a while. Glad we did. I had the Baked Chicken Strips .. not convinced they were baked but the menu says they are! I want to know their secret! The owner recommended the candied jalapeno dressing as a dip and I'm glad he did. It's great! My friend had the bumblebee stew and said it was great! The only thing he would have changed was to add the shrimp. Portions sizes are adequate, the view is great and the service is friendly. If you're ever driving through, save room for a meal! read more

Friendly fast lunch service. Lovely patio dining with gorgeous views. Very nice menu with something for every taste (pizza, salads, burgers, steaks, pasta, vegetarian chili, seafood...). I had a delicious chicken apple walnut salad with a perfect light vinegrette. My husband enjoyed the elk burger. The pizza looks fabulous. We'll give that a try next time. First impression was not good. We arrived just before 7:30 for dinner. A very grouchy waitress told us the kitchen was closing so we better order quickly. Well, the advertised closing time was 8 so if they don't want to serve after 7:30 they should advertise a 7:30 closing time. That said, the pesto pizza was excellent but there was too much cheese and not enough tomato sauce on the regular pizza. I went to Foxfire this weekend with a friend and the Pizza was delicious. My friend is the wine person and ordered us a bottle of wine from Argentina which was very good. I would agree with the other reviewers and say they did a great job redesigning the space. There is covered outside sitting and a small bar area, and window seating on the front porch. read more

Passing through Alpine we came upon the newly opened 'Foxfire at Alpine' restaurant. I always like to check out new places so we gave this one a shot. You take your chances with small town dining. The restaurant is located in a cute little white house that looks to be very old and as I later learned is one of the oldest buildings in Alpine. Inside the decor is contemporary, warm and comfortable. Works from local artisans hang through out the restaurant and are for sale. Our server was prompt and friendly. We asked about a few items on the menu and she suggested the Italian sausage which I ordered. My husband ordered a personal pizza. I wasn't disappointed by the server's suggestion. As promised, it was outstanding. The Italian sausage was spicy, but not too, and I was served two large links on a toasted roll. The sausages were topped with onions and green peppers which I really enjoyed. They weren't 'mushy', I think the server said the green peppers were baked so they retained just a little crunch but weren't greasy. My order came with a choice of slaw, potato salad or chips. I chose the potato salad and it too, was very tasty. My husband and I both judge a pizza by the crust and theirs was just right. Crisp, but not 'dry'. The crust had great flavor and the toppings, sausage and pepperoni, were generous. When our server told us the cheesecake on the menu was made at the restaurant from the owner's family recipe I had to give it a shot and I'm glad I did. Wow! So light and creamy. I live in Phoenix and would drive back to Alpine just to order that again! Jeff ordered the chocolate mousse cake which was delicious too. I saw an outside patio area that looked really cute with hanging flower baskets. Overall it was a great dining experience. Great food, great service and fair prices. Foxfire was awesome! Went with a group of five. Sitting out on the patio we got an amazing view of the sunset! Our server was very professional nice and knowledgeable, the atmosphere was great including live music out on the patio, and the menu seemed great! I ordered a salad and it was delicious. My friends got pizza and also said it was wonderful. The only critique I heard but did not experience myself was that the elk burger was a bit dry. I would definitely go back again and plan to the next time I am in Alpine! read more

My wife enjoyed the ribs. The home-made BBQ sauce is gluten-free. The pizza was good. The service; however, was excruciating slow. The space felt a little crowded but provided a nice atmosphere. The walls are decorated with artwork from local artists adding a nice local flair. The restaurant is new so hopefully some of the service kinks will work themselves out. I sense the owner's hearts are in the right place and I wish them well with this endeavor but improvements are necessary to entice us for a second visit. read more

We ate here for dinner while camping at Big Lake. They have a terrific menu & it's a great chance of pace from campfire cooking & diners, which are the vast majority of what you find in the White Mountains. Because of this, expect to pay a bit more for your meal. We happened to be there on "Pickers Night," when all of the local string players get together to jam. It was awesome! We felt like we were at a big family reunion. There's plenty of indoor & outdoor seating, but the place does fill up. read more

Fabulous food! We were there last night. Shout out to our waitress, Rachel, who made sure we were served as the food was being shut down. We had smoked brisket on garlic toast and homemade key lime pie. The best... we were famished after a 6 hr hike. Great music, Popsicles for the kids, blankets to wrap up in as the temps dropped.... This is the best place to eat in Alpine. The food is nicely crafted. The barbecue sandwich was delish and visually appealing. Live music was a nice touch with the cool breezes on the patio. A little pricier than one might expect, but all the food in town is a tad more, likely because the closest grocery store is 23 miles away. read more

Awesome evening at the Foxfire! Our friends took me there for my birthday and it was an incredible night! The perfectly cooked pizza crust, the salad, the new decor with lovely lightening and the rock wall, and even the smooth piped in music, along with the beautiful view of the mountains made for a great night. When the owner found out it was a birthday dinner he brought out a slice of the best key lime pie......EVER! The new saloon outside is also inviting. The owner told us some of the wood was reclaimed from the Wallow Fire. They did an amazing job decorating both the old house and the new saloon. So lucky our little town has such an awesome place. read more

I have been to Foxfire several times since they opened and have always been pleased. The food is wonderful and fresh and the service is always good. I have had pizza and pasta (both gluten free), salad and desert, Steve and Lisa have gone out of their way to make their restaurant a place that you want to be. They offer something for everyone, even those who need to eat gluten free. I can't wait for it to warm up so we can eat on the patio. "Well....I hate to give a poor review. We came for a Valentine's meal with family and friends and had a reservation. Our 3 orders of chowder were cold and we sent them back...it came back cold. The third time was better, but Was a little fishy tasting, but I'm from New England so hard to compare. The shrimp cocktail was...well we are in the mountains so I didn't have high expectations and that's what we got. My medium + steak was extra well done and after almost 20 minutes they brought me another one that was rare. The lobster tail was not terrible but was cold by the time my steak arrived. Then they ran out of some deserts....which I was hoping would make up for the lack of food preparation quality. We heard that the food was better by people who have been here before. The service was great and they were apologetic for the problems at our table. I don't expect to ever return...." read more

Hugely disappointed. There is no hostess. We got a wrinkled nose and were told we should have made reservations. We were seated and they promptly took our drink order. Coors Light....the darn bottle was served warm. We complained and the excuse was it came from inside and our next one would be colder. Really? How about taking these and getting us cold beer? Is that a thought? Nope. Three of us ordered Blackened Chicken Alfredo. Mind you the menu read "Blackened Chicken". Guess the kitchen staff was to busy trying to warm our frozen garlic toast that they forgot to blacken the chicken. And the Alfredo sauce was sticky not silky. We got blah pan fried chicken! No seasoning what so ever and that garlic toast was still COLD. The owner came out to explain how they cook Blackened Chicken Alfredo, they cut back on the seasoning because other people complained it was too hot. Then change your menu or ask the guest who is ordering it how they would like it to be prepared. We were expecting Blackened Chicken Alfredo. She offered free desert. Ummmmm no! What makes you think we want dessert after a poor tasting meal. If you are not successful at preparation of a recipe consistently, do not leave it up for disaster potentially to happen. Five adults will not be returning for a questionable meal at this establishment. read more

Last night was our first time at Foxfire. It happened to be our anniversary and we were treated royally. But more importantly, both of our meals (shimp scampi and Asian glazed salmon) were perfect and such a treat. So friendly and they were SO busy, but service didn't suffer. Of course, we weren't in a hurry. Why be in a hurry in such a nice place? We are staying in the area for awhile and can't wait to go back again and again.
