I have been frequenting bike shops in the area for 10 years and while I haven't received bad service in any of them, I haven't received as good as I have in my last two visits to Foxboro Bike. Best tuneup and best response to poorly functioning light system purchased there. These guys went above and beyond in helping us fix one of our bikes (and ebike) sent cross country that arrived via the "Bike Flight" w/ a damaged derailer hanger. No replacement parts are available 0 and they scoured the internet for them, so Foxboro Bike worked extra hard to fix it themselves - using ingenuity, rather than giving up, and leaving me with an unusable bike. I also really appreciated their high level of communication with me - I think it was Mike and Dan, but the others there also very nice. And that counts for a lot today! I dropped my bike of three times to fix the same thing and everytime they didn't now my bikes messed up and I have to buy a new one

I've had 3 encounters with these guys. One was to repair a bottom bracket on an older roadbike. It was not until I asked a bunch of questions that I learned that they spent several hours with a dremel to remove the old cranks in order to make the repair. No mention of it at first, no complaints, no extra charges. The second time they fixed a shifter that had broken before. They could have just charged me for a new one and said it was shot but, no, they fixed it and charged me a fair price. Now that I trusted them I bought a bike from them. When I brought it in for the free first service I must have bumped the disk brake lever while the wheel was off and was told it is a $40 charge to bleed the brakes to fix it. Upon pickup they said they did not have to bleed the brakes and the service was free of charge. Then they gave me a free tool to prevent this from happening again. I'm very impressed by the amount of knowledge these guys have about bikes, the quality of their work, and mostly by their honesty. I will now go out of my way to frequent this place. read more

Camping for 4th of July week in the area and my daughter crashed her bike and messed up the derailleur to where the bike was not rideable. Needless to say we had a very sad 12 year old who thought she would be without a bike for the week. Took her bike in right when they opened and Mike took us right in and diagnosed/ repaired the bike and had us on our way in about 20 minutes. My daughter was very happy and vacation was saved. I am very pleased with my experience at Foxboro Bike. I had gone through 2 lower end bikes in the past year that I bought from the retail chains only to have them both break..one even getting me a 5 mile walk with a bent rim and a flat. So I decided to pony up some cash and get a high quality bike. I walked in, was greeted, sized, and was shown bikes in my budget and test drove the ones I liked. I didnt know what to expect but was pleasantly surprised at the level of service I received. A few hours later I rode out of there with an amazing Trek bike that I am extremely happy with, and I got a very fair price. I highly recommend Foxboro Bike. terrible customer service and communication. I dropped my bike off Monday and asked if it would ready Friday, they told me yes it would ready. Wednesday I get a call from the shop telling me that I need a new part able they would be able to get it the next day and have the bike ready and call me. Thursday I receive no call. Friday I call them when they open and get no answer. I call again a few hours later and get no answer, so I go to the bike shop. When I get to the bike shop my bike is not ready and it will take a few hours to do. I ask to speak to the owner about my complaints and tell him that this is unacceptable. The owner says ok and walks away like he could care less. I leave the store and about 10 minutes they call me to tell me the bike is fixed. This was my first and last visit to this shop. I bought a Trek bike in late April of 2011 and found that the salesman was attentive was able to answer questions which made the sale a pleasant experience. I was told to bring it back in 90 days for adjustments and a tune up and that by buying the bike there folks are given priority service. Overall the experience was positive. I also shopped Landry's and went with Foxboro because it was a local business. On Monday August 8th I dropped the bike off for the service and tune up and was told that it would be ready Saturday August 13th. Early afternoon on the 13th I called, was told that they hadn't worked on the the bike and they would get to it and it would be ready at 4. They also told me that they would cal me at 4. It didn't happen On Sunday at noon I walked in and told the kid at the counter that I was picking up the bike whether the work was done or not. He went out back, brought out the bike and offered to put air in the tires. As I was leaving he told me to have a nice day. No apologies, no communication, nothing. read more

Brought my son here for his birthday and stood there for 10 minutes while employees chatted and never acknowledged us. Until we selected a bike and my son sat on it to see how well his feet reached the pedels. Then one worker screamed "Could you not let him ride in the store!! There are signs everywhere!!" I was floored that anyone would scream so loudly at a customer. Let me point out that my son is very mild and not at all wild! We were the only people in there (not surprised now) and I can't understand why they would not offer to help us and how a child is supposed to buy a bike without checking it out!!! And to yell like that on his birthday was beyond upsetting and rude. We went to Dicks in Natick instead where employee Kyle was amazingly kind to my son and we bought a great bike. I will never go to Foxboro Bike again. read more

I took my bike to these guys for a tune up and to get it ready for the warm weather and they did a very good job. I don't wish to simplify what they say or do but what ever it is they make it look very easy. The fellow who worked behind the counter when I was there was extremely friendly and offered great tips on things to do to avoid wear and tear. A great local business to visit. read more

3 strikes and you're out. Unfortunately my experience with Foxboro Bike was not positive. I visited them on a recommendation from a friend. I brought my road bike in for a tune-up. It is worth noting here that I always check everything on the bike before I take it anywhere to make sure everything is in working order. They called me the next day to tell me my front derallieur was broken and I would need to purchase a new one. I knew something had happened while they were working on it, and I told them they would be responsible for the cost of the new derallieur. They finally agreed to replace it free of charge. Strike 2 was when I got my bike back, instead of using a tiagra derallieur like my old one, they used a generic model. Upon getting it home I tried it and it was loud and shifted rough. I looked it up online and found it was almost $30 cheaper. Strike 3 was the fact that they did a horrible job adjusting said derallieur. I took the bike to REI where I'm a member, and they replaced it for me and did a great job. 2 stars for Foxboro Bike because as a rule I don't give 1 star ever. Update: I notice Foxboro Bike responded to my review, which is honorable. However, they were not honest about the events that occurred. Yes, I apologized, but they managed to twist that around as well. My approximate words were, "I apologize about the way things went down, and I appreciate you replacing the derallieur for me. This was before I realized they had put the less expensive one on. In response to the compatibility issue: I just had another tiagra put on, and it works great.They also once again failed to accept responsibility for breaking mine in the first place. Th eyes probably would have been better off just admitting their mistake, which happens, and I get that. That said, we'll just have to agree to disagree, and I'll have to recommend bicycle enthusiasts to seek repair shops elsewhere. read more

I felt compelled to write a review of foxboro bike after the one-of-a-kind service I received there from the owner, who's name is Dan. I spent a thousand dollars on a bike for my mentally challenged friend Matty and went home without figuring out all the components. I went back with matty, and despite them being very busy, Dan spent 30 minutes slowly and carefully going over everything, patiently answering all questions. He could not have been nicer to us and I just can't figure anyone could fault their very fine operation. Only difficult and impossible people who can never be placated no matter what would have any issue whatsoever with this very fine family business. I sat outside the shop waiting for this place to open up 5 minutes past the posted opening time, and the guy only opened the door when he did because another employee showed up and couldn't get in. When I finally got into the store, the guy said he couldn't spare one minute to show me how to properly remove a tire from the rim. After staring at him in disbelief for a few beats, I bought my tube and was on my way. I will not be returning to this place. read more
