My Mother was admitted to the Wesley Skilled Nursing Facility in Doylestown, PA after discharge…read morefrom the hospital. While the facility itself could use some updating (that's the reason for 4 stars instead of 5) the Staff is incredible and they were extremely helpful during my Mother's stay at the facility. Nurses Anna and Vicky were incredible and my Mother, who was not the easiest patient, liked them very much. Unfortunately while at the facility my Mother's health declined quickly (not due to the treatment by the facility) and they helped me to transition my Mother to Hospice and made it possible for my Mom to go home to her own house for her final days. The Director of Nursing and the facility Manager were incredibly helpful in setting up Hospice and were extremely supportive of me as the caretaker. I am grateful to the staff and would recommend them to anyone.

The accommodations are beautiful and give a very relaxing atmosphere. WEL's staff portrays an overall warmth with friendliness and helpfulness. The meals, also, deserves a very high rating. I would highly recommend this facility. My only wish is that I had such a facility close to my hometown.

My son was there for 13 months and aside from the therapists, a few good nurses and a couple aides,…read morehis care was deplorable. Administration does a terrible job with communication, the food is barely edible. It took so long to get my son's diet correct (months) and when they finally did, it was cold with absolutely no taste whatsoever. I walked in to him being fed in a reclining position! He was dropped from his lift 3 times, his peg tube was yanked out during a night time changing! I was later told no incident reports were filed for these things!!! One day he had his roommate's clothes on, and his roommate had his on, as well as being in my son's custom wheelchair!! The mistake was very visible as they were completely different sized men, and both looked strange in what they were wearing. Complaints go unanswered for days weeks and months. The building itself is so poorly maintained, and absolutely filthy. I kept a bottle of Pine-Sol spray so that I could spray my son's bathroom down when I visited, so that I was able to use the faucets to wash him. Often times his roommates feces would be on the toilet the wall and the sink. The soap dispenser was broken for six weeks before I finally got administration to put a new one in. Safe to say, no one was washing their hands, but me! Often times, the same washbasin was used on all four roommates head to toe. I complained about this several times, absolutely horrified at how unsanitary and grotesque it was, and yet it took weeks and several complaints, before it was rectified! My son's clothes were mixed in with the community clothing, although there were signs everywhere saying that I did his laundry, subsequently, half of his clothing went missing, which was expensive. It is a revolving door of staff that spoke very little English, so it was very frustrating for many of the residents as the staff had no idea what they were saying, so naturally couldn't attend to their needs. Literally, call bells went unanswered for over an hour sometimes, while staff were on their phones. My son was fearful of his safety and well being. The final straw was an extremely dangerous situation that could have caused serious harm, or much worse, had I not walked in when I did! BEWARE!!!!

My parents aged out at Telford, starting in independent living and then moving through every level…read moreof care that they had (Skilled, Personal Care, and finally Memory Care). I was not a fan of them moving in due to my perception of "nursing homes" but I learned otherwise in the four+ years they were there. Literally every single person we interacted with from the nursing staff to rehab to cooks, laundry, maintenance staff, etc. was like family. The professional level of care that my parents received (and us as their family) cannot be overstated except to compare it to the compassion that went with it. We were really clueless about what the last years of their lives was going to entail, and the staff here did it so much better than we ever could have. My husband and I ended up getting on the waiting list and now have a deposit down on one of the carriage homes being built; it doesn't get any better than this for end of life experiences. Aside from the fact that the carriage homes are gorgeous, the kind of care that is there as a "safety net" is exactly what we want. The added bonus is us both being on the same campus if one of us starts to fail in later years; not only does the other one not have to move, they can walk to visit, take meals and do activities together, and in some cases actually be together in the advanced care. (My parents were together in Memory Care.). I highly recommend Lutheran Home @ Telford.

I toured several facilities in the area and Telford Lutheran Community was the best choice for my…read moreparents. They have all levels of care. My father moved into independent living while my mom had to go into skilled nursing. My father is able to visit my mom everyday since they were located within the same campus. Bad weather no problem, you only have to walk across an enclosed bridge. The various levels of care both my parents have been receiving is exemplary. Telford Lutheran is like the Ritz Carlton of care facilities. When I would visit my Aunt in Florida I wondered why she did not get the same care at her facility. She was paying almost the same every month. Telford may be a little more than other communities but it shows in the care and people they hire. If you are searching for a place for your parents I would put Telford Lutheran on your list to review. You will not be disappointed.
