Fox Sounds is the best! We booked him to do our wedding after experiencing him do a great job during a few other family weddings. He's basically the resident family wedding DJ! Chris is a fantastic wedding DJ! We hadn't realized just how pivotal the role of the DJ can be at a wedding, not only ensuring good audio during the key moments, but also keeping things on time and seamlessly transitioning from one phase to the next. Chris was extremely capable at all of this and his calm, patient demeanor really reassured us whenever we got stressed out and barraged him with questions. He did an amazing job creating playlists for cocktail hour, dinner, and dancing that were very faithful to our music preferences, made the microphones for the ceremony and toasts sound great, and was a terrific MC, gently informing guests of what was next without being too overbearing of a presence. If you're looking for a 100% solid wedding DJ who will make your night YOURS, Chris is your guy! read more

Couldn't rate Chris any more highly. He did our wedding last fall and was such a pleasure to work with. He was professional but also fun, and completely understood what we were going for. He not only set the vibe with the music, but helped keep our day running smoothly and on time without ever being intrusive or too much. If you're thinking about hiring him for your wedding, do it. You will no regret it! read more

We've seen Chris DJ at different bars in San Francisco so we knew he'd be fun! From creating playlists for various moods to bringing uplighting for our reception area, Chris played a huge role in every part of our wedding day. He's extremely knowledgeable and guided us throughout the entire sound/music planning process for our ceremony, cocktail, and reception areas. It's true when people say your wedding day is a blur! The amount of love and excitement pouring in can get overwhelming at times. Chris worked seamlessly with our venue coordinator to make sure we stayed on schedule with all the events that went on throughout the day and night. Don't know what we would've done without them! Unfortunately due to Covid, we had to postpone our wedding twice. Chris was not only responsive when we needed to coordinate new dates, but also very supportive and understanding. We're so happy we chose him to be a part of our special day!! read more

"Just to let you know when I start I don't slow down. I want the dance floor hot and sweaty" Chris Fox Before I decided to get married I knew I wanted to have Chris Fox DJ the wedding because of his extensive collection of disco and 2000s era rap (50 Cent, Nelly etc..) From the very beginning Chris was very professional, friendly, and open minded. He seriously knows his stuff and how to read the room to perfection. We knew the kind of music we wanted and Chris was able to take our ideas and add a multitude of songs that were in line with what we wanted. To the quote above, the dance floor was hot and fun. He knew how to read the crowd and played "Shout" at the most perfect time. He ran the party as if it was his own and kept things moving along, which is something you want. No need for 6 minute speeches. Let's get to the dancing. Relax, it's your wedding and let Chris take care of it. If I get married again, which I don't plan to, I would definitely call on Chris to DJ. Instead, he can do our anniversary parties! If you are getting married I urge, request, and demand that you contact Chris first. read more

Chris did an absolutely fantastic job DJing our wedding this summer in Petaluma! He has an innate ability to read the crowd and determine exactly what to play when and how to smoothly mix it in. He kept our dance floor completely packed throughout the evening. Many of our guests commented on the amazing vibe set by Chris and his ability to keep people moving until the lights went out. Chris was incredibly professional in the months leading up to our ceremony. He was responsive and insightful, and his input even helped us plan other aspects of our wedding. We worked with Chris to develop a playlist broken down into must play, maybe play, dinner music and don't play. He had great feedback and really helped us fine-tune our choices. Overall Chris is a passionate, devoted professional who we couldn't recommend more strongly. read more

This is a guy who really has passion for what he does. As a resident DJ for 3 places in SF, and wedding DJ on the weekends, you can be sure this isn't some small side hobby for him. In my search for a DJ, I was looking for someone who knew what they were doing: Someone who could read the room, and who knew how to blend songs together, matching both tempo and key. It's actually kind of hard to find. Lots of DJ's don't even have demos of what they can do posted anywhere, and it seems rare to find a wedding DJ that work at other events that aren't weddings. Luckily, Chris does both. He has a great sampling of music on his website that showcase his skills in mashups (being able to match tempo and key), and since he's resident DJ at a few local places, you can watch him perform live during the week. Upon finally getting to speak on the phone and meet in person on the day of, he's a really chill guy who gets what I was looking for. He is excellent at what he does, and kept the dance floor going all night! There weren't any weird lulls, hiccups, or jarring transitions; just smooth, clean beats that made everyone want to stay on their feet. We didn't have to give an exhaustive list of what we wanted to have played either: he could get the general gist of the vibe we wanted from a short list of songs, and expertly crafted up a journey to the end of the night through music. If you're still shopping around for a DJ, or on the fence about even getting one, do yourself a favor and just stop here. Trust me, when it comes a once-in-a-lifetime thing like a wedding, leave things like this in the hands of professionals. read more

We are SO happy we hired Chris to DJ our wedding! We feel his music was a HUGE contributor to the success of the night. The dance floor was packed all night! We corresponded with him via email in the months leading up to the wedding, and from the start, he was nothing but friendly and professional. Once the wedding got a bit closer, we met with him in person so we could get a better sense of him, and him us. We talked about what kind of vibe we wanted, what music to play, and what not to play, etc. We gave Chris some general guidelines, but trusted him to do his thing and to keep people dancing -- and he did NOT let us down! We discovered Chris at Motown Monday's at Madrone, and asked him to do a very similar set of motown and soul -- which he killed! As the night went on -- with a bit of our guidance and a lot of his own selection and good taste -- he seamlessly integrated disco, boogie, funk, pop, latin, and hip-hop. We couldn't have asked for anything more... Thanks Chris! read more

Chris MADE our wedding. It was the best dance party we could've ever asked for. We are still hearing from our guests about how much fun they had dancing. He read the crowd and knew just what the people wanted. Even the wallflowers couldn't resist the dance floor. Chris also made it a stress free experience. The music is a really important component of the night, so naturally you want to get it right. Chris met with us to get to know our taste in music and the type of dance vibe we wanted. It was clear he has a lot of experience and a deep knowledge of music - which put us at ease. We were able to really trust him to make the right choices for us. Chris is very professional, punctual, reliable, organized and well dressed. He got along perfectly with our wedding planner and parents. The planning, contract and payment were straightforward and easy. We really appreciate how memorable Chris made our wedding reception and after party. We can't recommend him enough! read more

Chris did an awesome job at our wedding! Everyone had an amazing time on the dance floor - it was better than we had hoped for and definitely one of the highlights of the night. He also nailed everything before the dancing: the ceremony, toasts and background music for dinner/cocktails. Chris was easy to work with and very organized/diligent which clearly showed in how smoothly everything went day of...he's a pro. read more

Chris did an incredible job on our wedding in June! We loved the music he played for our ceremony, cocktail hour, dinner and dancing--and it was abundantly clear our guests did too. He was a great communicator and extremely organized, which made us feel that we were in good hands throughout our experience with him. He was willing and able to customize everything to our tastes. Most of all, we got the sense he was passionate about all kinds of music and making sure we were happy. I could not recommend Chris more! read more

Chris was the perfect DJ for our wedding - from ceremony to speeches to dancing, every aspect was perfect. Without just echoing all the wonderful praise from other reviews, it was the subtle things that made him a world-class professional. One of the reasons we chose Chris in the first place was his passion for music, and his ability to recognize the importance of old and new sounds to make the event fun for everyone. One of my favorite parts about working with him was how he customized the playlist based on our style of songs, and understood what we meant when we asked for "no coldplay". The most important part about what made Chris such an amazing professional was the small things like taking queues when we wanted to end our first song, father-daughter/mother-son. He was so aware and attentive the whole night, but also completely self sufficient. I will ask Chris to DJ every event I ever have from now on. His experience with mashups, and versatility from 10 years experience at Bootie to professional events makes him an amazing DJ for every event. Don't think twice about booking Chris if he is available - he is the best choice available. read more

Our wedding guests are unanimous in their assessment: our dance floor was OFF THE HOOK thanks to DJ Chris Fox. He didn't miss a beat. It was a nonstop blast. He took our requests and seamlessly mixed them together at the right moments so that the dance floor stayed lit all night. I can't recommend him more! read more

Wow what a DJ! I hired Chris to DJ my wedding after hearing him around town a few different places. He was the best. He showed up early with a great attitude and setup his equipment in a flash. He didn't mind moving things around at the last minute request of the venue. During the reception and ceremony he nailed all the cues and made the whole event go smoothly, even though my instructions were lacking in clarity! My mother in law was so impressed she should probably be the one writing this review! He played of my requests as well as some of his signature sounds. He worked hard all the way through breakdown and had a smile on his face the whole time. If you need a competent, reliable DJ look no further than Mr. Chris Fox! read more

Chris Fox did a phenomenal job DJ and emceeing our wedding this spring. He is incredibly personable, very professional and has a deep passion for his craft. Plus, we love that he DJs full time at venues all over the bay area, keeping him on the music pulse. We outlined the music for our ceremony and gave him a list of songs and genres to give a sense of the music we wanted for the dancing part of the reception. He suggested a few additional songs for our consideration, all of which fell in line with our music sensibility. He told us that his goal was to make our guests want to dance all night and he delivered exactly that. In terms of his emcee duties, Chris was spot-on in tone and executed everything perfectly. We especially appreciated his attention to detail. He checked in with us ahead of time to make sure he pronounced each wedding party name accurately. Towards the end of the reception, a bunch of our guests raved about Chris's work and lamented their sadness leaving the great music. In the days following the wedding, more friends and family have shared with us the same sentiment. We felt confident in Chris's abilities throughout the planning process and after his flawless execution, we ecstatically recommend him for any event needing excellent music! read more

Chris was amazing from start to finish. Couldn't have asked for a more easy-going, hard working individual to support our wedding. Our venue was a couple hours away from his home and he drove up to scout it out in advance of our wedding. He had an easy form to fill out with all of our desired needs from welcome music all the way down to the final song of the night. There are certain vendors you have to worry about on your wedding night, but Chris is in complete control. 10-out-of-10 recommend you booking for any service. read more

As good as they come. Chris came highly recommended by our wedding planner. He was attentive, easy-going, and helpful during our first meeting over the phone. We moved our venue more than 3 hours from the original location due to issues with the original venue and Chris followed without a problem. So easy to work with. He brought full audio equipment, managed sound and music during the ceremony, cocktail hour, and dinner reception flawlessly, and then crushed the dance party. He took an inspiration playlist we provided and did his magic. More than a dozen guests of all age ranges passed on high praise of his work that night. We couldn't have had a better experience with Chris! read more

Chris was the BEST! He worked with us leading up to our wedding to get to know our music likes and dislikes. He did a great job reading the crowd and he kept the dancing going. We really appreciated his MC style as well. He knew when to make announcements and also when to blend into the crowd. He was very approachable and professional. Highly recommend!! read more

Chris DJ'ed our wedding and was friendly and hard-working throughout the whole process. He had the task of keeping our guests partying for 5 hours and totally crushed it with his music/DJ skills. Everyone kept talking about how fun and non-stop the party was. He played tunes for the older crew when he noticed they were not dancing as much, he changed it up when things got slow, and overall just kept a super fun pace throughout the night. A good price for a solid DJ who knows how to keep the party goin! read more

We had Chris DJ our wedding this last October in Guerneville, and we couldn't be happier with our choice. The process started with a great recommendation from our wedding planner, then we met up with him over drinks to go over the process. From the beginning, he took the time to understand our expectations and asked the right probing questions to help us further define what we wanted. After that, it was really easy... complete a music planning sheet, and we were done (by our design, not his... we weren't too particular, but it seems like he's able to adapt to even the most obscure musical requests) For the wedding, it was awesome. The dance floor was packed from the first song to the last... and then an encore, and then 3 more hours upstairs in a private bar. Chris was amazing at mixing the songs together, creating a seamless experience. He's not the type of DJ that simply creates a set list and stands there, he's super active in gauging the crowd. If the crowd wasn't feeling a song, he quickly recognized it and moved into something new, and something different. And like I mentioned before, he was totally open with extending his time and setting up at the bar upstairs. That part went till 2am, and he kept that dance floor packed as well. So much fun. I can't recommend Chris enough, for whatever your event is. He's fantastic, and I won't hesitate to contact him again or recommend him to anyone in need of a DJ. Thanks again Chris! read more

All I wanted for my recent wedding was an epic dance party, and I got just that with Chris. I have been to so many weddings with awful DJs, but Chris came highly recommended and I couldn't have been happier with how everything turned out. Chris is communicative, and is professional, but super chill. He can really read a crowd and kept the dance floor going all night long. He totally crushed it with the ceremony music, and the dinner music. We cannot recommend him highly enough - don't hesitate to work with him! Thank you, Chris for making our wedding so memorable! read more

Chris did the most fantastic job DJing our wedding 3 weeks ago. Chris suggested meeting in person to prep for the event and it was clear from the time we met him that we made the right choice. He was incredibly personable, showed us he was invested in making our event special, and took his time during the meeting to cover any and all details of importance. At our wedding and reception he was everything we were looking for in a DJ and more- he was friendly, gave instructions and guidance while still blending behind the scenes, and was the most flawless balance of wedding professional and also playing the jams that everyone can get into. He was interested in playing the music we wanted to hear and did a flawless job of taking our input and managing the right music for the right moment and mood. So many of our guests commented on how amazing he was and that he was the best wedding DJ they had heard. His transitions from Motown to hip hip to old school country to Top 40 was fabulous and it kept us all wanting more. The dance floor was packed the entire night and we are SO happy that we hired Chris. read more

We absolutely loved having Chris as our wedding DJ! He made us feel so comfortable and excited leading up to the big day. We had a few phone calls and he was totally on top of all the little details. We so appreciated how he wanted to get everything just right for us. The actual day went so smoothly with all the speech introductions, the flow of the reception, and of course the dance music. Our dance floor was literally filled the entire night thanks to Chris' ability to read the dance floor and tailor the music to what our particular guests were enjoying. The music changed seamlessly throughout the night based on who was there partying it up. Chris, you were a joy to work with and all of our guests (young and old) commented on what fun the dancing was and how great you were. Thank you!! read more

I have worked with Chris Fox for multiple years on at least a dozen events now, both sourcing live DJ music for private and corporate events as well as for procuring playlists for nationwide large-scale food and beverage events. He has never disappointed and always meets and exceeds my expectations. He's a true artist and is able to interpret my always specific but maybe sometimes convoluted in description requests. Overall he's easy to work with, takes time to listen to your vision and executes in a way that's nothing short of impressive. His music style is forward in a way that'll make guests of your event feel like they're in on something that's more progressive than the music they're used to. I highly recommend working with Chris Fox as he is talented, professional and a delight to work with -- for me at this point it's a no-brainer. read more

My husband and I hired Chris to DJ our wedding back in March and he was absolutely amazing! He came recommended to us from someone who had her wedding reception at the same place as ours... so I knew he was familiar with the space, which was helpful. Chris was super professional. He met with us twice before our wedding. We liked his demeanor right away and knew he'd be perfect in setting the tone we were looking for on our special day. He provided us with a music planning form, so we were able to give him an idea of songs we were looking for, and he delivered. On the day of, he was helpful on keeping us on schedule and he rocked the dance floor all night! I heard one of my friends say, "Best DJ Ever!," so to say the evening was a success was an understatement. Chris was awesome to work with and can't highly recommend him enough! read more

Chris was amazing! I know everyone thinks their wedding was the best wedding they have ever been to, but we have had so many of our guests tell us ours was the best they had ever been to, and we attribute a lot of that to Chris. He was seriously phenomenal! We met with him twice before our wedding, and he was super accommodating and so open to making our event to what we wanted it to be. He is also a really nice guy, and you can tell he is really passionate about what he does. The fact that he just got married and had a wedding really helped as he totally knew what we were experiencing. He was really quick to respond to all emails, and was always happy to talk to me about any questions I had. We live in SF, but got married in Tahoe, and Chris was so awesome to travel there and DJ for us. We gave him a list of songs we liked, and gave him freedom to play others, and he totally nailed it! Our dance floor was completely packed for the entire night, with people booing when he announced it was the last dance because they wanted to keep dancing! I feel incredibly fortunate that we found such an amazing DJ for our wedding, at a very reasonable price. He was worth every single penny and then some! We cannot wait to refer him to our friends who are getting married. I honestly have never been to a wedding with a better party and dance floor, and it was all because of Chris (and of course some liquid courage). I could keep going on and on about how great he was, but words cannot do this guy justice! Thanks Chris!!! read more

We hired Chris to DJ our wedding this past weekend, and he was awesome. He was a total pro - both in prepping for the event in the weeks leading up to the wedding and especially during the wedding itself. He was easy to work with, listened to what we wanted, and had lots of good ideas about what we could incorporate into our wedding. We highly recommend Chris, so much so that my wife's firm has hired him to DJ one of their events in the next few weeks. read more

Chris was the DJ and MC at our wedding and he was a huge part of why it went off so well. He was professional in his preparation with us before the event, and his friendliness, energy and enthusiasm in the moment at the event went down so well. Our wedding was very much a thankyou party we were throwing for our family and closest friends - so a lot was hinging on getting the right DJ. Chris, for us, was definitely that. We wanted a drummer with him on stage and he recommended Paul Oliphant and Paul was also amazing. Chris and Paul were very positive and enthusiastic and seemed to clearly love doing this work. Chris worked with our playlist and used it as the start point for figuring out what to play when during the event. And how to work Paul into the set for the best effect. I think the first list of songs we gave him exploded up to 300 before we cut it back to 60. He used the 60 informed by the 300 to work out what to play. He has some amazing mash-ups on his website and we listed the ones we loved the best too to help him understand our taste in music. He did some MC'ing, he provided the background music for the wedding ceremony intro and outro, put together the music that played during dinner and the pie-cutting and obviously he was in charge of the music during the party part of the event. If either of us ever need a DJ or a DJ/Drummer combo for an event in the future we'll certainly make Chris and Paul our first stop. read more

Chris was unbelievable at my son's wedding. He read the mixed crowd perfectly: 60 yr old ex hippies, 30 yr old young millennials, California HiTech, NYC professionals, Europeans ... And he had all of us dancing for hours. He listened to us before the event, and listened more during the wedding. It felt like he was choosing every sound just for the moment. Clearly he has artistic skill. And he was totally pleasant to work with. Would not think about using any other DJ in the bay area. read more

When my husband and I started planning our wedding - our first thought for a DJ was Chris. We had been to a good friend's wedding the year before where he was the DJ and he killlllled it. We were thrilled when we met with him in person and he was so super nice, professional and laid back. He was so wonderful to work with before the wedding and super helpful in coordinating the sound for the ceremony with our other vendors and coordinator. Now to the dance floor - holy. shit. Chris. was. magical. For 4 straight hours, the dance floor did not clear! We (the bride and groom) crowd surfed!! Chris can read the crowd so well, and just totally nailed everything. He does and insanely good job mixing songs into each other. We could not have been more thrilled with his work wish we could get married again just to experience the joy on that dance floor!! Thank you Chris, you rock. read more

Chris did an outstanding job for my client's wedding in July! He had originally been contracted with them at their previous venue before it was flooded. Throughout the process, he was super responsive and available. He came fully prepared and rolled with punches when a fire broke out next door and we had to delay the wedding till things calmed down. He kept the energy going for our adjusted cocktail hour and when it came time for the reception, everyone was on that dance floor! He knew just how to mix up the eras for all ages and still stay true to the couple's music style. The music was incredibly important to them and Chris did not disappoint. Great energy and laid back personality. I'd love to work with him again! Thank you Chris for making my couple so happy! read more

I can't say enough about how great Chris was at our wedding and throughout the planning process! He came highly recommended from a friend, and I am so glad he was our DJ- he absolutely crushed it! Chris is a true professional and dedicated to his craft. Our dance floor was packed alllll night long, thanks to his ability to read the crowd and transition different genres of songs! If possible, it just kept getting better and better as the night went on. He was flexible with our requests regarding speaker arrangements for a sparkler exit, was great as our MC, etc. We also hired him to do a personal mix for my father-daughter surprise dance- and it was a big success! If you have any doubt, don't - Chris nailed it! And I would hire him again and again- best decision ever :) read more

STOP WHAT YOU ARE DOING AND HIRE CHRIS FOX (affectionally known as Foxy). Chris is sooooo good!! We met Chris for a cocktail in Hayes Valley because he wanted to get to know us a bit better which was a great way to start things off. Leading up to the big day we talked through the vibe we were going for and what we wanted played during the different parts of the wedding (dinner, reception, late night). He took the spirit of what we wanted and put together an incredible night of music. Guests are still talking to us, weeks later at this point, about how great the music and DJ was. He was also helpful when it came to managing the nuts and bolts of the night, coordinating with our planner and setting up the silent disco (pro tip: do a silent disco). Foxy is the best. read more

Chris killed it at our wedding! We met beforehand and discussed music. Once he had a sense of the vibe we wanted, he started naming songs so I could say yay or nay. He knows his music, which made this a fun game. By the end of our chat, he knew exactly what to do, and on the day of our wedding, he came through big time. We had a packed dance floor. I only left for a few minutes to talk to some guests and felt distracted the whole time because I was bummed about the songs I was missing. If you want a raging dance party that no one wants to end, call Chris. read more

Chris was our wedding DJ at Cornerstone Sonoma in April and kept the party on the dance floor the entire night. He really read the crowd well and played a great mix of jams to keep everyone happy. Not only did he kill it at the reception he was very professional when we met with him to discuss our special day. I would highly recommend Chris. read more

We hired Chris for our May wedding and we could not have asked for a better DJ to play our event! Chris was attentive, listened to our requests and kept the party going all night. Our guests raved about him and honestly, working with him was the least stressful piece of planning our wedding. If you're considering a DJ for your event or wedding, do not hesitate in hiring Chris. He came recommended by a friend of ours whose wedding he DJed and I am forever grateful to that friend for recommending him. Thank you so much, Chris! read more

Chris DJ-ed our wedding, and it was honestly the best party I've ever been to. The dance floor was packed for 5 hours straight - which my wedding planners said was an unprecedented record! He read the crowd beautifully, stuck to the songs we had given him while adding in additional items that fit well, and kept up the energy the entire time. Working with him was also a great experience - we spoke on the phone beforehand and I told him I really wanted someone who would play the songs we wanted to (not just their own mixes). He told me he would honor that request, and he absolutely did (despite being an amazingly talented DJ who makes sick mashups and mixes). He also insisted we meet in person before the wedding so we could run through everything, and I'm so glad he made that effort. We talked about expectations, what freedom he has to fill in some gaps, and talk more through the vibe we wanted. He truly performed exactly as we asked, and added things we didn't think of. During the event he was focused on the music but happily engaged with the crowd and took feedback when we wanted specific songs to be played. Also, on top of that he's a really nice guy and he was a pleasure to work with. read more
