I have redness, texture, fine lines, and so oily you could bottle it and sell it like they did to the gladiators in Roman times. I wear makeup most days and after my facial I never looked more beautiful. I had my first experience here about 2 weeks ago now. I must say I was utterly impressed and blown away by the service I received. From the moment I walked into the door I felt transported to a very calm and restful place. I just love how this space has been transformed into an oasis almost, I guess I just didn't know what to expect since I had only ever been in a hotel spa before and this experience was far better and less expensive then what I have got at the hotel spas I have been to. I had Jade as my massage therepist, and I treated myself to the Bliss Massage, and it was just that, pure bliss. Before this the longest massage I had was only an hour, while the bliss was two hours. It was pure pampering and it made my body feel soooo much better! I can't wait to try some of their other offerings and I am even looking at the VIP club which seems to be a great value. As I get older and since for the past year I have been working out 5-6 days I week I think massage could really be the perfect thing to help my body! Been here twice with my best friend who lives nearby. Recommended to us by her mother in law. We get their couples massage. You get to pick your massage therapist and they're honestly all great. The massage tables are padded. They give your choice of aromatherapy to help relax you and ask you about where you want to focus and pressure. read more

I've been to a few local spas and I must say that the vibe and ambiance at FRMS is my absolute favorite. The low but warm lighting and artsy feel in there is so inviting. Accompanied by literally the nicest staff all around I've ever seen at an establishment, it's hard to say no to this place. I just managed to get there in a power outage due to an accident nearby that dropped a lot of power in the area but they managed to still accommodate for me thankfully. (Shoutout to Nicole!) I will be here more often as I'm super local and flipping through everything they offer, massages and facials are next on my bucket list. My latest appointment was with Lissa and I have to say that this was the best massage in my life. Honestly, with my past experiences this was a high bar to surpass. My son was there receiving a 30 minute massage from a wonderful massage therapist named Denise. She was patient, kind and gentle. She spoke in such a gentle tone. She had my son and I relaxed the whole time. My son had surgery a very young age and she was able to treat his scars with her amazing tools. He thanked her and gave her big hug afterwards. He told her thank you for making me feel better. The atmosphere was welcoming and very calming. I highly recommend Denise she has a unique skill set and is very knowledgeable. I have been going to Fox River Spa & Salon for about 7 years now and I love them! I go for massages and esthetician services and Julie and her team are great. Yesterday, I went to get my brows done by Lisa, who I highly recommend. I had to bring my 5 year old son with and the staff entertained all his questions as he was in awe of the spa (he had never been with me before). The spa expanded recently and built a yoga studio (salt room) more treatment rooms, a cool lounge equiped with a drink bar. I am a member and get a discount and perks from my membership including use of these facialties outside my services, a signature drink cup and personalized towel with my name on it! Membership is not that much either and is yearly. They remember my name and treat me like a VIP. I recommend Jessica and Paula for massages as well, they are great! read more

This review is for Cinde. I went to the location in Carpentersville, but Cinde can be found mainly at this location. Some how I had hurt my neck while sleeping and was barely able to stand the pain. One of my coworkers had recommended Paula at the Carpentersville location but she didn't have any openings for that day. By chance, I got Cinde and I feel so #blessed that she was available. I had a ton of tension, a bunch of knots and just felt "stuck" in my upper back/shoulder area. She worked it all out and I am so grateful! Note: I am fully biased here and proud of it. I found Fox River Salon and Spa in Carpentersville- via Yelp- and ended up breaking up with all of my other massage spots because Julie and her team are so amazing. The prices for services for hair and massage are incredibly competitive and the availability of her massage therapists was awesome. (Note, I have since moved to Austin, TX so I only can visit here when in town) The places I used to go for massage would typically only have therapists available on Thursday-Saturday. Seriously? No one wants a massage on Monday or Tuesday or Wednesday? So- I truly have LOVED and highly recommended Fox River Salon and Spa- I get my hair done there and likely will have my hair touched up while I am in town. I went to meet Julie at the new place a few days ago and WHOA WHOA WHOA. When you walk up on the outside you will think it's a smaller place but don't let that fool you. This place is by my account 5x bigger than the other location. This place is not hair- it's all about therapeutic services -- TONS of massage rooms and 2 rooms for Infrared Sauna, plus they have skin-care services galore from facials to peels and lashes ~ you name it. They also had some dreamy robes for sale that I about died for- I only stopped myself from buying one because I have a problem buying robes at every hotel and spa I go to. Then I have 100 robes at home. #spaproblems I saw Tonya for deep tissue massage and she knows her stuff. Holy cow. Specialist in trigger point therapy and she worked my calves like a workout!! Amazing. This location is spectacular....Julie used to run the spa at the Bellagio and she knows her stuff --she's always ahead of the curve with the newest treatments that make ladies lovely....she needs to be your BFF. It's always hard transitioning to a new massage therapist and when mine retired I did some homework and Cinde came highly recommended. My friends did not disappoint with their recommendation. The staff here was so accommodating. I was a walk in with a dire need of a massage due to a crimp in my neck and in complete pain. I was told that their first available wasn't until later in the afternoon, but that wouldn't work for me. The receptionist then asked if I wouldn't mind a male masseuse. Justin was on break but she said she would ask him. He graciously said yes and I'm so glad he did. He gave a great massage! He got right to the knot and afterwards my range of motion improved!
