He took the time to both explain and show me the issues -- and it was clear he dug beyond the surface (and a quick fix) to find a root cause that, if not identified, could've very well led to a fire. He was able to fix it right on the spot at a reasonable price, and took the time to look into and explain in detail answers to questions I had with other projects I'd been considering around the house. Incredible on all levels: 1) One of the best prices of all that I vetted. Some gave ridiculous prices estimates, but FM's was one a few that were more reasonable. 2) HONEST - a) The wrong shower board was given to them by Lowes or Home Depot... I heard them talk and instead of using the wrong board, they were emphatic about getting the right one. b) I had cameras in rooms to make sure they didn't go into them, and they never did. Super honest and hard working. 3) CLEAN a) They covered the floors and walls during demo, and post-demo, kept all the cardboard like material on the floors to protect them through the job. b) They had one guy vacuum dust from tile and wood cutting and drywall cutting to ensure everything was clean. 4) WORKMANSHIP a) Checked my plumbing before installing the new bathtub and found a giant hole in my cast iron pipes. They did not "have" to inspect lines nearby but did as part of the job. Save me a fortune in future damage that would have happened had they not looked. b) The tiling and installation was INCREDIBLE. Everything was perfect... everything was level. Everything was done on an excellent timeline. 5) RESPONSIVENESS - I contacted Jason a bunch, even on weekends, and he was ALWAYS friendly and accommodating to my requests. We hired Jason (FM Maintenance) to help rebuild our unit, (paint, flooring, cabinets, etc.) I just wanted to express our complete satisfaction with his professionalism, communication, and the workmanship of his crew. He was able to complete all the repairs in a timely manner, even the extra requests I made didn't slow the speed of the project. While it's unfortunate the recent, costly kitchen update we had completed by another contractor in November was destroyed by a slab leak, having Jason complete the work made it less "painful". I have used them on four different occasions already for two different properties, and in each instance, they did not disappoint. I seldom write reviews but this one is well deserved. 1. Craftsmanship. Their work is great. What seals the deal on the quality of their work is their willingness to retouch whatever you may not be satisfied with. They stand by the guarantee of customer satisfaction. 2. Communication. Jason is very quick to reply and he keeps his appointments! He is punctual and accessible. 3. Pricing. I cannot speak highly enough of Jason and his team! From the moment I met him I could tell he was an honest and knowledgeable person. His prices are reasonable particularly considering the great service provided and he does not leave any stone unturned. We had an asbestos abatement (popcorn ceilings) in advance of the work done by FM maintenance and they came in to dry wall, paint, install can lights, install LVP flooring and trim, completely redo one bathroom and largely redo another. We continued to add to the original scope throughout the project and Jason took all of our requests in stride and moved mountains to fit in all of our requests extremely quickly. Everything from start to finish took about 4 weeks which is wildly impressive considering the scale. During the renovation, my husband broke his back in an accident and I was 5 months pregnant and Jason did everything he could to limit any additional stress on us. His team went the extra mile and moved our beds for us, installed extra fixtures/hardware for us, and had our home professionally cleaned so we could get settled as quickly as possible. I would also be remiss if I didn't mention how responsive Jason is. He replies very quickly via text and phone, even in the evenings and on the weekends. His communication is clear and always helpful. I will be calling Jason first for any future home projects and I highly highly recommend him (and already have to various friends!). We worked with Jason to fix the drywall in our ceiling after a leak. He came out with a foreman to inspect and give an estimate. During the job, the foreman came out with two other guys who did the actual work. Considering all the people involved, FM may be more than the just-a-guy-with-a-ladder handyman (I can't say for sure since I didn't actually get another quote). But ultimately, I'm glad we went with them. They arrived on time, finished on time, and did an excellent job. I can't even tell where the old drywall ends and the new starts. Most importantly, they went to great lengths to protect my home and leave it clean. They created a plastic bubble for their work. When they left there was no dust or anything any where. We worked with Jason and his team when we had a leak in our main water line that caused us to rip out our drywall to repair it. He was excellent. He responded to our questions in a timely manner, and he also helped us catch an additional leak. He also addressed all our concerns about finishing the job as quickly as possible. Within a week, he was able to fix our second leak, replace our drywall and paint the wall. He was busy with other projects, but he made it point to check-in on us daily. We had water damage-- not an emergency, but definitely cause for serious concern -- after the recent rains, and after looking at Yelp Reviews, we decided to go with FM Maintenance. I texted Jason, he said he was booked up six weeks in advance, but because he was working on a job in the neighborhood, he came over and spent more than half an hour. Because the van he was using didn't have a sufficiently long ladder he was unable to do as thorough an examination as he wanted to do, but he was pretty sure he knew where the leak was located. This was confirmed the next day when a subcontractor he recommended found the source of the leak where Jason said it probably was. Jason recommended several subcontractors for the problems we had, and every one we've used has been first-rate. Contractors are under a lot of pressure due to the recent storms, but using Jason's name has gotten them to come almost immediately. We realize in recommending him so highly that we run the risk that the next time we need him, he'll still be booked up six weeks in advance -- but in an era where people try to get by with shoddy work and overpriced work at that, Jason is a rare exception. We recently purchased a condo that needed major upgrading. Jason and his crew at FM Maintenance did a great job and the place now looks fantastic. Quality of work? Timeliness of repair? Ontrack with budget? With so many question marks then why 5 stars? I needed a small repair done in my shower/tub. I had already gotten an estimate from someone else who had admitted the shower wasn't built in the best manner and that his repair would be more like a bandaid. I then went to Yelp and found FM Maintenance. Minutes after leaving a message, Jason called me back. He was friendly, helpful and descriptive. Even though it was a smaller job he seemed eager to help. However when more information came about the project, he realized the shower probably wasn't built to code and the repair I was asking for would be out of compliance and wouldn't be the best way to fix the issue, so he politely declined the job with his reasoning. For declining to do the wrong thing, FM Maintenance has earned 5 stars. It seems FM Maintenance wants to be proud of each job they attach their name to and they only do what is right, even if it costs them an easy job and easy money.
