WE ARE OWED AN APOLOGY FOX HOLLOW. My boyfriend golfed fox hollow on March 2nd. Let me start by saying he is a very experienced golfer, he golfs 18 holes numerous times a week at many courses throughout the Salt Lake and Utah Valley. He is more than accustomed to golf etiquette and is very patient with courses when things are just moving slow on the course. His 1:00 tee time was delayed by 10-15 minutes. By the 4th hole, a gentleman from two groups behind them drove his cart over to them and told them to speed up their play. My boyfriend and his playing partners politely explained they've been waiting at every tee box and understood the course was just playing slower. He drove off and said have a nice day. This man was not the course Marshall, just someone from a random group. At the 11th hole, the same man began taunting my boyfriend's group telling them to speed up. This continued from hole 11 thru 18. Even though it was obvious that my boyfriends group could not speed up their pace of play as they were waiting on the group in front of them, and if they would have allowed this taunting gentleman to play through, it would not have accomplished anything as the gentleman would have then been waiting on the same party my boyfriends group was. Normally we would chalk this up as poor sportsmanship and golf etiquette of random people on the golf course. However.... This gentleman proceeded to drive up to my boyfriend and yell homophobic slurs. At which time it was uncovered this gentleman is an employee of Fox Hollow Golf Course by the name of Mike. Who was sporting a Mohawk, skinny denim jeans and a zip up hoodie. Not only is it incredibly upsetting that an EMPLOYEE would be ruining a paying customers experience by taunting and belittling a customer, but his homophobic slurs while representing a course he is employed by are disgraceful. As an employee of the course on or off the clock, if you are playing on the course you should be showing the utmost professionalism. Including dressing in true golf appropriate attire and not in street clothes. We will not give our money to Fox Hollow ever again, and strongly encourage any one that is LGBTQ+ or is an ally to rethink giving your money to these people. We will be following up with a better business bureau review as I truly think the amount of taunting my boyfriend went through was a sign of discrimination as Mike believed my boyfriend as Gay based off the slur he yelled. I really want to like this course, but the afternoon staff is terrible at getting people out. This is the 3rd time I have tried to walk on as a single. Each time I was told it will be a wait, which is not a problem. I understand not having a tee time. Then I sit and watch twosomes and threesomes go off the tee without being filled. When I ask there is ALWAYS some excuse. I truly believe you need to know someone or slip an employee some cash to get out in the afternoon. VERY disappointing. read more

Fox Hollow has been a great local course and with great prices, is always a course I consider when looking at tee times. The driving range is a little lackluster, with lots of dead grass patches and not rotating spots frequently, it is a bummer, and the only reason it's 4 stars. (Returning to edit, as I have revisited the range, I have seen no improvement on the grass or rotation of spots. Making this driving range bring a lot down to a 3 star). The 2 practice greens are in good condition and give you a good feel, speed, and break. Now for the actual course. Wide fairways, green green grass, and good rough lengths make the fairways awesome. The greens are fast, and consistent. The tee boxes aren't top tier but still good. Overall this is a medium difficult course with very little elevation change, yet obstacles that require some skill to avoid. Not to mention the Lake holes on the back 9. I've lost plenty of balls there. It's a pretty good course and is well priced. read more

I've used the clubhouse, driving range, and front 9 of this course. My review is the same for all three. The driving range has one of the best back drops with that gorgeous Wasatch mountains behind it. They even have a small playground so you can bring your littles children along and they won't get bored or in the way. The driving range is beautiful. But I'm not an avid golfer so as long as don't loose my ball in the water, I'm good. The banquet room is the perfect space for my husband's office Christmas parties. They've hosted us for the past three years while hiring out the food from a local vendor down the street. They fit 10 round large tables that seated 8-10 people and it filled the entire room, with just enough space for the live band and food buffet. There's a small kitchen the vendor gets to use so you could literally cater in any food you want. Would be great for a wedding as well. read more

I was so pleased that they were open for play on Thanksgiving. The pro shop was closed and no carts allowed. The recording said that they were opening the gates so families could enjoy a round on them. I took my little kids with me. We played the last 4 holes. I hope this becomes a yearly tradition. If you're in alpine and looking for good golf. This is the place to go. Especially during these quarantine times they are taking extra measures to keep things sanitized and to minimize person to person contact. The staff is friendly and helpful if you're looking for advice to get started. Their prices are good, the grounds and pretty, and the driving range is perfect to be on when you need a short break to enjoy the day. A small bucket of balls is $5 and large is $10. With great weather in Utah this is the activity for the whole family. Head off to the driving range or play 9 with a couple of clubs and you're entertained for the afternoon. read more

Let's be clear about what is being rated: the course is a 3. Average municipal course with mature trees but a lack of imagination. Slow greens and a lack of definition. The best part is that it's incredibly cheap, especially if you walk, which is possible because it's so flat. But the practice facility is a 5, possibly the best in the state. Lit until 10pm with lighted practice greens, a ton of targets and yardage markers, and lots of space both horizontally (fits many golfers) and depth (can hit driver). Good for those that want a cheap course or want to improve on the range. read more

Worst allergy attack of my life. Sneezing the entire back nine. And it really made my entire experience here miserable. In all fairness not the courses fault. The one great thing... that freaking cheesesteak I ate before we started playing... and the tots. For like 9$ and a drink are you kidding me. Anyway... to the review! Course is pretty... not beautiful. They could do better on maintenance but I am pretty sure this is a course for kids to learn how to play. Most of the people I saw playing were under 16. Hence the very low cost to play. Beautiful trees and well placed hazards. Throughout the course. And the back nine I forget the hole numbers... but a lot of potential to hit vehicles. Just be aware of that because... I didn't realize and I almost hit some kids playing in their front yard. Didn't think I could hit that far. (15 years later one of those kids becomes a serial killer... should of hit them... I'm kidding guys... geeze). Carts meh. After school staff... I think they are doing it for the free golf. Allergens... omnipresent. Cost reasonable. Maybe a tiny bit overpriced for how little maintenance there seems to be. THE VERDICT: Best part... food. That was the first thing I experienced there and the last time I was super happy. Perfectly melted cheese and meat with those peppers. Anyway I digress. This place is a solid 3... I will never go back. So maybe it is a 2 but the price you pay is basically what you get. So you have to decide what matters most to you. read more

I find the other reviews comical. 3 stars for allergies? "Pretty, but not beautiful?" Come on people. Fox Hollow is easily one of the best public courses in the state. And, the facilities and staff are top 5 in the state, hands down. As for the course, it is average difficulty from the white and red tees, but if you play the blues or blacks, this course is long, and it's a killer! I love the tree-lined fairways, the greens are smooth, well-kept, and roll true. The course is maintained very well, and is always green. If you're looking to play a "hidden gem" of a course, this is it. I highly recommend. read more

This course is just awful. I don't think there is even a course marshall, and if there is he doesn't do his job. It took me 3 hours to play 9 holes. I teed off 20 minutes after i was supposed to. There is a reason I bookef a tee time in advance. There was no one speeding up pace of play and there were people yelling on the course, right next to tee boxes. The greens were just awful, and filled with divots everywhere. This course was in such bad condition, and way understaffed. I won't be back. read more

Worst customer service I have experienced in a very long time. Called 4 days in advance to set up a tee time and rent golf boards. When we arrived we were told that the golf boards were not available because the account rep showed up to perform maintenance. The clubhouse rep (Steve) stated that even if we called 15 minutes before our tee time that there would have been nothing they could do for us. He explained they have no process to let us know that the boards would be unavailable, including calling customers before their tee off to let them know. My group and I took half a day off from work and weren't able to golf because we were expecting golf boards that are supposed to make the round faster. I voiced my displeasure with the clubhouse rep (Steve) who preceded to tell me that I am welcome to golf at a different course because there are other options. Never once was an apology provided or an offer to make the situation right. I went and spoke to the golf board representative, who seemed to want to do anything to try and get the boards operational for us to golf our round. Despite this, we were still unable to golf. Fox Hollow could use a lesson in customer service! I won't ever consider golfing there again and hope this review is helpful in your decision of where to golf. read more

This is a great course to play as it is a challenge, but they put way to many people on the course at once. My group of four made it through the first nine holes in 1 hour and 30 minutes, but due to the stack up on the final 9 holes we ended up completing our round in 5 hours! A bit of a disappointment and no alcohol at the course made this a negative experience. read more

Absolutely love this place. Greens and fairways were in great condition despite it being a public course and the views were amazing. The staff was friendly and got me right out to play!! The play was a little slow but nothing terrible, about 2 hours for 9 holes. My new favorite course!!! read more

I golf a lot! Fox Hollow is a decent course with decent prices. I received a buy one get one game free from a good friend of mine. I went in and presented the discount to the gentleman. He took it and threw it in the trash and requested $17 dollars. To me, this didn't make sense as a normal 9 hole game is $22ish. I figured I would spend $22 and I would receive a second game free or allow someone to come with for a free round. This was not the case and I feel that I was misled. Disappointed! read more
