The value cannot be beat for the quality of service you get. First, the whole venue is yours for the weekend. No other guests are booked at the B&B on a wedding weekend (and you get access for the WHOLE weekend). Second, Paulette and Ron are so accommodating and helpful, even before your wedding weekend. Any time we needed to come up and check things out, they welcomed us to visit. The space is beautiful. We had an outdoor wedding, with a gorgeous western view of the Olympic mountains and a reception in the spacious barn. We had no problems fitting our whole wedding (150 guests) while leaving room for a bar and dance floor. The rooms in the B&B are beautiful and spacious. And the breakfast food was amazing. We would absolutely recommend Raspberry Ridge Farm to anyone looking to get married in Kitsap County.

Audrey tried hard to make us feel at home, though after the series of events since we arrived, I don't believe anything could do that. This place has enormous potential but - with the exception of Audrey's kindness - is an absolute joke. We booked ahead online on a third-party website earlier that day. We wanted a nearby weekend getaway, and our hopes were high that we had found a bed & breakfast we could escape to semi-regularly. When we arrived, we were greeted by unkempt grounds and a very mysterious feel. There were no lights on and no signs to signify where to park or enter. We pulled around back and parked near what looked like a utility van and walked around to the front door. Entering, we were surprised to see a mish-mash of 80's and 90's decor but still no lights and an odd smell (that we still can't put our finger on). We called out, "hello..." And a young man walked into the living area, seeming surprised to see us standing there, bags in hand. "Can I help you?" He asked. I chuckled and awkwardly told him we had reservations that we had made online and paid ahead for. He seemed annoyed, but not at us and excused himself. He then proceeded to have a rather loud conversation with a elderly voice that sounded like a mild argument. I guess they had meant to take the ad off of that particular website because they charge too much for bookings, but they would "deal with us." He came out from the hall a minute later and asked questions about the site we had booked through, how much we had paid, and when we had made the reservation. He then tried to explain that we had been undercharged because they had posted the wrong price online. He asked to see the card we had booked with and we gladly complied. I followed him back (because I was uncomfortable with him disappearing with my Credit Card) and he handed it to an elderly man behind a desk filled with papers. Without asking permission, the man swiped our card and I said, "excuse me, we already paid and our card was charged for the room." And they seemed very confused. Checking our account via a mobile app, we could already see the second charge had appeared on our account and the man told us that they had no way to reverse the charge. Long story short, they had to write us a check - A CHECK - for the difference after charging us a second time since they said there was no way to change or void the charge. I feel like going through the ordeal we experienced with our room would be wind blowing in the desert at this point, but to summarize... there was no hot water for the bath tub (the giant luxury tub they boasted of), the bed was frightfully uncomfortable, it smelled as through the room hadn't been aired in ages, the lights did not all work, and the balcony was covered with mildew to the point that it was green and slippery. My husband and I kept asking each other in a joking manner if we were in a horror film and if this was how it felt right before you died. To their credit, it seems they did not know we were coming so the room was totally not prepared. But... yeah.

Located on a bluff above Eagle Harbor, there is ample outdoor seating to enjoy the massive expanse of water and sky. A curving set of wood and stone steps lead down to the water where one can barbeque, go kayaking, sit and relax, or walk on the beach. I saw an eagle swoop on some cormorants that were sitting out on a floating dais (they dove and easily escaped him). The view of Mt. Rainier from the beach is unique and if one walks down a ways one can see the Seattle skyline. The place is everything it is advertised to be: the windows overlook Eagle Harbor with the ferries coming and going, the kitchen is well equipped and the stove has gas burners, the bed is very comfortable, the television has more channels than I would ever watch, Wi Fi is free, the bathroom is clean and the showerhead is powerful. The owners were friendly and honored my privacy. Photographers, artists, birdwatchers, couples, small families, kayakers, an individual looking to relax - I could go on - will all find something here. I found true peace and quiet.

The owners live upstairs but I never heard/saw them, however, they make it very clear in the information they email you that should you need ANYTHING during your stay don't hesitate to just let them know. It was private, quiet and beautiful. For someone who only gets one vacation a year, it was exactly what I needed and as mentioned, I will definitely be back next year!

Next she brought me, then we brought our kids, then I stayed here for 10 days while doing business in Bremerton... it has become our regular digs whenever we are in the PNW (Seattle area anyway). Each member of my family loved it from the first night's stay, and our appreciation deepens every time we go back to it. It is aptly named. Weather permitting, the views from "Bird's Eye View" are wonderful. When the place is socked in with drizzle and grey skies, the views are still wonderful-- Darryl and Jody keep the property garden-lovely in all seasons. It is equally lovely indoors, with a cozy Northwestern vibe that makes it good news to "have to" simply relax around the home. Darryl and Jody genuinely make you feel at home, too. Both are great hosts, open and friendly, yet unobtrusive when you need your space. You'll have a lot of space here too. At least one of the three bedrooms was more spacious than our entire 3-bedroom apartment back in LA, without even including the attached full-size bathroom! The main floor of the house is also available to guests, including the family room with its cheery fireplace and the nap-magnet couch. (I'll let you discover which of the couches is the nap magnet) It is easy to find, but the hill getting up to Kaster from the highway is respectably steep. Call Darryl & Jody before you come, if the weather is bad, and they will advise you-- there is actually another way to get up to the top of that hill, a much less steep way, but it requires some careful directions from your hosts. Your hosts, it must be said, are amazing cooks. The breakfasts here are delicious, wonderful, amazing, generous, and served in a dedicated dining room with linen, crystal glassware, candles and silverware, giving it a very formal and Northwest-elegant feel. (So, think cashmere sweater-vest, not tuxedo-vest). All sorts of happy anecdotes are coming to mind but I don't have the time to regale you with all of them. Suffice to say that you will love this place.

Our last two nights of our journey were spent in Seattle at the Shafer Baillie mansion. I would highly recommend staying here. The location was great for getting to downtown and all around. It is close to the Cap Hill neighborhood with shops and restaurants. There is plenty of street parking in the vicinity. The mansion itself is part of what was known as Millionaire's Row. It was built in 1914 and has been well cared for over the years. When we came back from one evening out, we all gathered in the Library and set up some charcuterie and wine to share from our travels. It was so cozy sitting all together and chatting about our adventures. The rooms are historic with modern conveniences. Our room was the Queen Ann Hill. We slept soundly in our comfortable 4 poster bed. There was a helpful step stool for me to climb up as I am vertically challenged. It has original pushbotton light switches. It had a beautiful full length mirror. There was a flatscreen TV, but we had so many wonderful activities we did not use it. The bathroom was updated but still fit with the historic look. There were two showerheads in the tiled shower. Breakfast was lovely. I, personally, have a great deal of food allergies. There was ample selection that I was able to enjoy just as much as anyone else. There were breads and pastries, jams and spreads, yogurt and fresh berries, and a hot breakfast dish. Hard boiled eggs were available as well as cheeses and meats. There was a coffee bar that was available all day that also had tea and cocoa. We sat at the long dining table enjoying each others company and conversation. We got to meet some of the other guests which added to the experience. If we find ourselves back in Seattle, this is where I will want to stay.

It looks amazing!
