The home is large, fully furnished, plenty of seating for everybody and plenty of amenities for us to relax and enjoy our evening. The linens are soft, beds are comfortable and rooms are well decorated. The entire home was very clean and well kept with games and books for everybody to enjoy! We had six adults and three children for the night and never felt crowded! Doug is amazing and very quick to respond with questions or any other needs. We locked ourselves out while watching the fireworks (the front door locks automatically) and he responded within just a few minutes so we could get in out of the cold! The only issue with the home is that it's impossible to enjoy all the home has to offer during the winter with check in not until 4:00 pm and check out at 11:00 am. We had absolutely no time to appreciate the beautiful view, well maintained yard and large back deck. Perhaps during the winter the check in could be a bit earlier since it gets dark so early. We stayed in Guesthouse #1 and would highly recommend it to any large family or group staying in the area.

Along that lines, the word "resort" is probably subjective to every location. If you're thinking of a resort like you'd see in Vegas or Dubai or a major city, you absolutely need to re-evaluate. For the size of the town and for what there is to do in town (specifically Port Ludlow), this IS a resort. Compared to any major city/tourist destination, no this is not a true resort.** Too long, didn't read short version: DO: - bring things to do (books, board games, crafts, laptop, etc) if you want to hang out in room - bring walking/hiking shoes for trails and paths - come to RELAX and do nothing - do your homework on what's available in the area DON'T: - expect a full resort like in Vegas or any major city - expect Michelin-star food - expect a million things to do on site ACTUAL REVIEW: we stayed there at the end of December, for reference. If you want to find somewhere low key to unwind, somewhere to take walks and connect with nature, somewhere quiet to be with your thoughts or spend quality un-interrupted time with your loved one, this is the place to be. The resort itself is set back a little bit from the main road, but even in the 4:30pm winter darkness we had no problem following the road past the marina to the resort. Check in: - super quick, super efficient. Lady at the front desk was nice and full of smiles (didn't get her name, sorry!). - dog friendly; asked for our dog's name and was acknowledged on their "VIP" board (adorable) - Clean lobby area with small gift shop section, relatively small but everything was tidy and well decorated. - Yes on elevator and luggage trolly things - in mornings they even have fresh brewed coffee for free for you to enjoy. Room: As expected, probably a little better actually. - clean and well kept, no signs of bed bugs (or bugs of any kind) - Had mini fridge and coffee station, but what I loved was the fact that they used a hot water kettle instead of a traditional coffee machine you see in hotels; this makes making coffee or tea much easier - coffee is nothing to write home about, but still nice (I've had worse) - have wine glasses and a bottle opener if you decide to bring your own wine! - Comfy bed, plenty of pillows, and have extra pillows and blanket in the (large) closet. - lounge chairs had thin padding so if you are not well endowed in the rear end, it may hurt to sit for a long time but we just put blankets or pillow for extra padding. - Heater worked just fine, nice fireplace (but more for aesthetics than heat). - Windows and blinds had no problems opening if needed - Small TV but still visible from the bed so no problems with us. - No housekeeping service but you can ask for refills of things you need at front desk. - consistent and strong wifi Bathroom: - The best part (for my husband anyway) was the tub; in our room, it opened up into the view directly of the marina and it was so nice to be able to soak and look out the window. - Clean and plenty of towels. - Toilet paper was adequate (trust me I've had some really really awful toilet paper) - bath towels were comfy - shower was really pretty nice - provided some bath salts for your tub if you wanted it. - 2 robes for you to lounge in! The Fireside Restaurant: ate dinner, 2 breakfasts and happy hour for the days we were there - good solid food for an out-of-the-way resort - Everything tasted fresh, was delicious, and generous serving. - have happy hour - AMAZING views on patio (thanks Liz!) with heat lamps - We did one of the breakfast in room and they did actually offer it to us in to-go containers in a bag, so please don't worry about needing to carry a large tray up to your room. - Can be pricey though but didn't feel like we severely overpaid. - Dog friendly as long as you are ok with sitting on the patio. - Big shoutout to Morgan and Elizabeth for being the best servers ever! Grounds: - well kept, grass mowed and kept clean - Neat garden/hedging, probably prettier in spring/summer - no specific dog potty area, but no smell of dog poop/urine that you would normally find in places that are dog friendly - Has walking path that goes down to a small beach area - plenty of walking area near the resort and around the yacht club area. - Plenty of parking, doesn't feel sketchy or unsafe at all. I overhead the manager talking about waiving the 30 minute break and audit implications and telling the new hires that they could take a 10 minute break if they needed it in their car or wherever they wanted. The manager went on to say that if 30 minute break was really needed it could be taken and at one point there was a comment about signing out. I was just trying to toast my bagel and put some cream cheese on it for my son but it was impossible not to overhear the conversation. To me it felt really unfair as I don't think these new hires could say anything otherwise to these comments because they were accepting the job. When I left I asked a room cleaner about it and she said yes it is a labor practice issue but then said she likes working here very much and her boss is great. I asked because I really like the staff here and I was hoping I was just confused about what I thought I was hearing. Upon check out the manger in a very aggressive manner showed me the law about how an employee can waive their rights. I let her know my concern was that her new hires might not feel comfortable speaking their mind. She responded by saying they would feel comfortable and that she mentioned that aspect in the very early hiring stage too. She went on to scold me for not coming to her and I let her know that as a patron I do not have to follow any specific standards and really just wanted to get the heck out of that office. As I drove away with my son I felt really upset and could not get the rude look she gave out of my head. It was truly one of the most unusual hotel experiences I have ever experienced. It has been hard to get this person out of my mind her hostility was palpable and now I see I am not alone: Front Desk Leadership: A recurring complaint describes a front desk manager as having "extreme anger issues" and acting as if they own the property. This individual is allegedly responsible for making the work environment miserable for the rest of the staff. Lack of GM Presence: Reviews suggest the General Manager is rarely on-site, delegating significant authority to this front desk manager without sufficient oversight. This has led to a culture where staff feel forced to "go along with the nastiness" to avoid conflict.

The towels used as bath mat were gray with dirt and the floors felt sticky. Disgusting. TV didn't work right. Kept buffering and freezing making it difficult and very frustrating to watch. Lock on door to room didn't work properly so had to use the physical key every time. It has a keypad with code that wasn't working so it would not lock. Also--no further security lock latch on the inside like most hotel rooms so anyone with a key on the property could enter. Didn't feel very safe. Front door to Garden Building, where room was, stuck so badly and did not latch properly that that meant the building was unlocked overnight. When it was latched (after I left I had to slam it hard), came back and could barely get it open. It took three times of entering the code and I had to kick the door and pull and pull on it for it to open. VERY frustrating. This cute, little room and inn has so much potential but this big miss on these issues means I will not return and tell others to avoid the property. Any claim of a view of the water is exaggerated as it's a tiny peek from the room I was in which was on the far end of the Garden Building. Icing on the cake is that in the Inn at Pleasant Beach area has the worst WiFi. Phone calls dropped in the room and as soon as I went by the restaurants and shopping area, my phone has no service and was even on "SOS". *This place is not worth your money.*

Each bedroom was about the same size and had plenty of room for belongings including a good sized closet as well as a large dresser. There is a view of Liberty Bay from the windows and water access from the property, which we took advantage of as crab season opened the weekend we were there. Wade and Julia, the owners, were very accommodating and Wade even pointed us in the right direction to fill our limit on crab that weekend. The Guesthouse is central to everything we wanted to do in Poulsbo. It's a 3 minute drive to downtown, with great shops, especially Sluy's Bakery (the best doughnuts/pastries ever). It's about a five minute drive to to the local casino, where we enjoyed an evening of relaxing, low-stakes gambling and it's about 15 minutes to the ferry landing when we wanted to enjoy a couple of days sightseeing in Seattle. I can't say enough good things about our experience at the Lemolo Greenhouse Guesthouse. Very highly recommended!

It was a romantic getaway that couldn't have been more perfect, Maureen recommended a lovely dinner at the Four Swallows and we came home to a crackling fire. I would highly recommend Our Country Haus Bed and Breakfast. It is gorgeous, the hosts are amazing and the price is exceptionally reasonable! I look forward to visiting again soon!
