We had the entire top floor to ourselves and it was wonderful. You do share a bathroom but it's roomy enough and everything is updated. There's a small sitting area up there and even a "Harry Potter" room tucked away under the eaves. Ken, our innkeeper, accommodated our late check-in and even recommended restaurants in Poulsbo that we could try. We ate at two of his recommendations and they were both excellent. We asked for breakfast to be served at 9AM everyday. It was always ready and delicious. There was always an egg dish, bread or muffins, fruit, yogurt and granola. Our beds were very comfortable and we always had a good night's sleep at the Green Cat. Free wi-fi is available everywhere in the house except in the Green Gable Room where connection was spotty so I would sit in the sitting area outside our room and it was fine. We walked the grounds and met a couple of the cats. It's a very relaxing and calming experience to be here. I would come back in a heartbeat.

I went to the breakfast…read morearea to make a bagel for my son and one of the managers was completing the hiring process for a few employees seated at the eating tables. I overhead the manager talking about waiving the 30 minute break and audit implications and telling the new hires that they could take a 10 minute break if they needed it in their car or wherever they wanted. The manager went on to say that if 30 minute break was really needed it could be taken and at one point there was a comment about signing out. I was just trying to toast my bagel and put some cream cheese on it for my son but it was impossible not to overhear the conversation. To me it felt really unfair as I don't think these new hires could say anything otherwise to these comments because they were accepting the job. When I left I asked a room cleaner about it and she said yes it is a labor practice issue but then said she likes working here very much and her boss is great. I asked because I really like the staff here and I was hoping I was just confused about what I thought I was hearing. Upon check out the manger in a very aggressive manner showed me the law about how an employee can waive their rights. I let her know my concern was that her new hires might not feel comfortable speaking their mind. She responded by saying they would feel comfortable and that she mentioned that aspect in the very early hiring stage too. She went on to scold me for not coming to her and I let her know that as a patron I do not have to follow any specific standards and really just wanted to get the heck out of that office. As I drove away with my son I felt really upset and could not get the rude look she gave out of my head. It was truly one of the most unusual hotel experiences I have ever experienced. It has been hard to get this person out of my mind her hostility was palpable and now I see I am not alone: Front Desk Leadership: A recurring complaint describes a front desk manager as having "extreme anger issues" and acting as if they own the property. This individual is allegedly responsible for making the work environment miserable for the rest of the staff. Lack of GM Presence: Reviews suggest the General Manager is rarely on-site, delegating significant authority to this front desk manager without sufficient oversight. This has led to a culture where staff feel forced to "go along with the nastiness" to avoid conflict.

It was very hard to rest. We also wouldn't mind if they upgraded or enhanced the interior design a bit. It's a bit sparse in the rooms; for instance, it would be nice if they jazzed up the jacuzzi area inside the rooms that have them, and also jazzed up the hot tub area outside (such a PNW thing!). Pluses - great staff, good breakfast, and ample space to walk your pet outside. Convenient.

Two chairs and large TV nice too. Beds seemed really firm upon initial sit test but ended up sleeping fine and room seemed fairly quiet even having someone next to us. Really enjoyed the warm breakfast offering. That morning it was self-made waffles, sausage links, mini cheese egg omelettes, various breads and tasty muffins, hard boiled eggs, yogurt, cold cereal, juice, milk & coffee. Perfect before checking out and starting your day. Cons: the toilet and tub were together ( separate from sink counter) and in tight quarters, toilet too low and too tight to wall making your elbow hitting the toilet paper roll and awkward to use. Had a dog, nice they accept but charged $60 (no dog treats) if weigh 50lbs+!! Odd they put dog guests next to others without. Offer coffee in the breakfast dining area all day but was barely warm both times we went. Ended up just warming in our room microwave. Should offer more TV channels/cable etc. Other wise would still stay again, probably without the dog.

The tower rooms are very conveniently attached to the casino and easy to get back-and-forth to your room. If you stay in a Resort Room, that building is not attached and you have to walk through the parking lot to get to the casino. I would say that that's the only downfall during the winter time of staying over there. But that is where the pool is so it just depends on what you're looking for at your stay. I have no complaints about the room, very clean and nice decor. My husband wished there was room service for breakfast the next morning but that is not available. I also wish they had valet parking. There is not nearly enough parking in the parking lot so if you don't find parking, you have to park in the parking garage and then walk all the way around back in to the hotel. Hotel staff were very friendly and the checkout process was easy. The second part of this review is going to be on the service from my work holiday party. The room was beautifully set up and the food was delicious. The staff that were coming around refilling water and taking plates were very attentive and friendly. We really liked Richard. The one employee that we encountered was the bartender assigned to our room. My first encounter from her I thought she was just having a bad day and I let it go. Not welcoming or friendly at all. Not even a smile. But as the night went on people started talking and it seemed everyone was having a not so good encounter from Robyn. She did not ID anyone all night, except my coworker that asked for a mocktail. She was rude to some people and unprofessional to others. It just progressively got worse. Yes the management will be reaching out to the contact they have at the casino to let them know. I was just so taken back about how somebody could go out of their way to be so rude at a fun holiday party. Other than that, the experience was great and I would highly recommend renting an event room there. Is it worth the drive?...yes

As charming as this cottage appeared and lovely as the owner Nan sounds... DON'T LET IT FOOL YOU…read more We reserved the cottage 3 days in advance for 6 nights while we were out for a baseball tournament and at Nan's request, bypassing VRBO's website where I found her cottage. She suggested using paypal in return saving fee's VRBO would charge. At first sight this was a cute cottage with a nice large yard which appears is backed up to the water... We met her there to get the keys and go over the "house rules". She expected us to take off our shoes at the door, asked if we would compost our food and showed us where to take it, said she would be back the next day to mow the lawn and had sticky notes saying every day she would be there to take the trash out and not to use anything that has a scent to it as she uses all hypoallergenic products for any kind of cleaning. All respectable wishes and we of course were going to follow them. That said we were on vacation with our boys for baseball... wanted to lay back, relax and not have to worry about being on our toes each time our dirty boys came in and out and what they had on them or their feet, what they threw away and in which trash they threw it. What bed they slept in because she has a $300 bedspread she was worried about. We were took the keys at about 11:30 ran a few errands. All in all we were physically in the house for 2 1/2 hours. All of her little requests were fine and tolerable until we actually got a moment to sit.. it didn't take us long to realize we were not alone. This cute little cottage is infested with spiders. ALL KINDS!!! and all over... behind the chairs, hanging from webs in the loft, above the door frames as you walk in. My son was bitten and to be fair we're really not sure by what so I gave him an allergy pill to help with the swelling. Can only guess it was a spider and he refused to go back. Needless to say we packed up the place, threw everything back in the car... swept up, wiped down and left the cottage. I returned the key at 6 showing Nan ALL of the pictures of the spiders, webs and eggs. She later sent me an email saying she wasn't refunding any of the $1168.00 and she took my damage deposit of $200 and cashed it never stating once that there were any damages. She then falsified pictures showing a little pile of dirt on her floor as well as a picture of a bed (she said was used) where we put down our suit cases bags and blankets, when we brought everything in. She also sent a picture of the little cardboard box she wanted recycles placed. We had a plastic bottle, another smaller box and random small things in. She sent a picture of a scuff mark the size of a quarter, on the carpeting that she also took a picture of saying that it was a stain that she could not remove and would have to get a professional cleaner out to remove it. Again, no damages but she cashed my $200 deposit check. This lady is very dishonest and very deceiving and I wouldn't suggest renting this cottage. The address is incorrect on this website as well. It is 2308 NE Trailway Rd in Poulsbo WA.

Audrey tried hard to make us feel at home, though after the series of events since we arrived, I don't believe anything could do that. This place has enormous potential but - with the exception of Audrey's kindness - is an absolute joke. Would consider returning if they made some changes because the potential is huge, but the creepiness and awkwardness far outweighed any benefits. We booked ahead online on a third-party website earlier that day. We wanted a nearby weekend getaway, and our hopes were high that we had found a bed & breakfast we could escape to semi-regularly. When we arrived, we were greeted by unkempt grounds and a very mysterious feel. There were no lights on and no signs to signify where to park or enter. We pulled around back and parked near what looked like a utility van and walked around to the front door. Entering, we were surprised to see a mish-mash of 80's and 90's decor but still no lights and an odd smell (that we still can't put our finger on). We called out, "hello..." And a young man walked into the living area, seeming surprised to see us standing there, bags in hand. "Can I help you?" He asked. I chuckled and awkwardly told him we had reservations that we had made online and paid ahead for. He seemed annoyed, but not at us and excused himself. He then proceeded to have a rather loud conversation with a elderly voice that sounded like a mild argument. I guess they had meant to take the ad off of that particular website because they charge too much for bookings, but they would "deal with us." He came out from the hall a minute later and asked questions about the site we had booked through, how much we had paid, and when we had made the reservation. He then tried to explain that we had been undercharged because they had posted the wrong price online. He asked to see the card we had booked with and we gladly complied. I followed him back (because I was uncomfortable with him disappearing with my Credit Card) and he handed it to an elderly man behind a desk filled with papers. Without asking permission, the man swiped our card and I said, "excuse me, we already paid and our card was charged for the room." And they seemed very confused. Checking our account via a mobile app, we could already see the second charge had appeared on our account and the man told us that they had no way to reverse the charge. Long story short, they had to write us a check - A CHECK - for the difference after charging us a second time since they said there was no way to change or void the charge. I feel like going through the ordeal we experienced with our room would be wind blowing in the desert at this point, but to summarize... there was no hot water for the bath tub (the giant luxury tub they boasted of), the bed was frightfully uncomfortable, it smelled as through the room hadn't been aired in ages, the lights did not all work, and the balcony was covered with mildew to the point that it was green and slippery. My husband and I kept asking each other in a joking manner if we were in a horror film and if this was how it felt right before you died. To their credit, it seems they did not know we were coming so the room was totally not prepared. But... yeah.
