Kiana Lodge is a beautiful private venue located between Poulsbo and Bainbridge Island on the Kitsap Peninsula. Quintessential Native American, Pacific Northwest destination. I usually associate Kiana Lodge with weddings. My first visit on a rainy Sunday afternoon was for a celebration of life memorial (4/6/25). This can be accessed by car via ferry sailings from Edmonds/Kingston or Seattle/Bainbridge Island or driving around the sound from Seattle/Tacoma. I also received an e-newsletter where Kenmore Air can provide transport via seaplane for special events onsite. The Garden Atrium was arranged with a reception area and coat service. A table was set up with various curated memorabilia, A/V services to provide slide show and speaker capability. There was also an open bar, coffee/tea service including water and lemonade, and catering services were also provided. Delicious cuisine. Beautiful, serene views and seating also allowed for mingling and sharing anecdotes. A genuine celebration of a very accomplished individual who left lasting legacy, demonstrated a strong love of family, and a truly a life well lived. This was by far the prettiest venue we looked at (and we visited about a dozen within an hour of Seattle), plus we got the added benefit of working with a very organized, thoughtful, and accommodating venue team who made everything from planning to catering and day-of operations smooth. Had a chance to experience the Kiana Lodge for a work event and it was so lovely! We had the grounds to ourselves and the people onsite - Isaac and others were super friendly and helpful when needed. The food we had was delicious and our staff kept talking about it through the week which is surprising because we have a picky bunch! Overall, I'd come here again, I would love to visit when they have dinners or lunches open to the public as I was really impressed. I can imagine some beautiful events in this space. read more

This is a stunning event venue for fundraisers, weddings, conferences, and the like. A very picturesque and serene environment. Gorgeous outdoor grounds and a beautiful rustic interior. My only complaint is that they have the worst chairs. They are awful to sit on. So uncomfortable. I have a completely osteoarthritic hip, and they had to go find a different chair for me the night of our event. Fortunately, I had brought a seat cushion, but even people who did not have problems with their hips, knees, and such had problems with those chairs. The wait staff were amazing the night of our event. The bar and the appetizers were adequate. The room was spacious enough to do an easy check-in and check-out, an auction, dessert dash, have folks mingling, and the program from the stage. read more

I cannot say enough good things about this venue - they are a dream come true! We came to Kiana about a year before the wedding with a 2-ceremony vision. Pam, Leslie, and the Kiana team gave us a tour and came back to us with a reasonable plan and quote. They were willing to set up the dining room twice, the wedding ceremony chairs twice, with a quick clean up in between ceremonies! Additionally, they had worked with our planner before and had a good relationship. The space itself is gorgeous. The flowers, the water, the garden, just amazing! There were seals playing and eagles soaring throughout the day. The fact that this is a private property that only hosts one wedding at a time was also something that I found really special and helpful. There is no chance of random people poking their heads in or running into another wedding - the venue is yours for your day, this was really important to us. The food at Kiana is also great :) We wanted to serve a traditional indian/nepali lunch after our first ceremony, and Kiana's chef, Cesar, learned the recipes and cooked the dishes himself!! We had a tasting a couple months before the ceremony with some minor notes and the lunch on the wedding itself came out perfect! They even accommodated some new appetizer recipes for cocktail hour! We had our wedding here in October and it could not have been more perfect. Pam was there every step of the way during the planning process and was patient with all our questions. The grounds are immaculately maintained and you get the entire space when you book your wedding. You can choose your ceremony location overlooking the water, facing the garden, or inside the atrium...and each location is stunning in its own way. We could not have been more pleased with Kiana Lodge, its staff, and the manager/coordinator Hailey Crow. My daughter got married there just this past weekend and, despite being HOT AS HECK, it was beautiful. Hailey worked back and forth with my daughter and her [now] husband to plan the day and it was spectacular. The place is so full of flowers around the gardens and the lodge that you don't need to add much yourself. The tables were gorgeous. It was super helpful that staff cut the cake. And I'm glad someone recommended that I rent the beach house next door because we could stage so much there and carry it over easily through a gate between the two. My only suggestion is that, given how hot our summers are getting, they invest in more fans or rig up A/C because there was only one box fan in the building and it was so hot that no one danced. We sweat off quite a bit of makeup! ;-) Regardless, I was very pleased and the day is now a wonderful memory. Thanks! read more

Best Wedding Venue Ever! This place is already just so gorgeous all around. It's very easy to design around your needs while staying well within budget as there isn't much needed to be done. Laura Lewis was our assigned coordinator that came with this venue. She was not only amazing and wonderful! But she had a baby between it all and came back to help out! Super mom is just an understatement for her. This place is not only great budget wise, but the place has food. So it helped out immensely when I do not need to look for food on top of the venue. Everyone to this day still talks about how amazing gorgeous our wedding was and it couldn't have been more perfect or turned out any more perfect. Kiana Lodge is a gorgeous place for a wedding. My friend got hitched here last Friday, and it was absolutely stunning. The grounds are immaculately taken care of, accented by bright tropical flowers, and well-tended sprawling green lawns that stretch right out to the beautiful blue Puget Sound. This is a sensational photo shoot site for a wedding or engagement, or even if you're just in the market for a gorgeous Northwest backdrop. And of course, if the weather is feeling kind like it was for us, a 75-degree cloudless sky day certainly doesn't detract from Kiana's beauty. The wedding I attended had an outdoor ceremony, overlooking the waterfront at sunset. The friends I attended the wedding with had been there before, and said that indoor weddings are also quite beautiful here. The lodge features expansive skylights - so even an indoor ceremony has an abundance of light and the feel of being outside. The food was amazing, we took multiple trips to post ceremony cocktail hour table for crab dip hor d'oeuvres and a tart icy lemonade drink. The inside of the lodge is equally lovely, very Northwest in feel, exposed beams and very open. Oh yeah, and the buffet was pretty good too! This venue really is the total package. Only wish it was closer, as you need to deal with the Bainbridge ferry ride to get there. Hotel accommodations are nearby for your out-of-town guests, but you really can't beat the gorgeous scenery! read more

Our wedding was global themed, and our wedding planning process was just that. We live in Jackson, MS- planning a wedding in WA- with over 50 guests flying in from out of state/country. We chose Kiana Lodge because it is beautiful, all-inclusive, and connected with a Hotel that provides transportation to/from the ferry. They planned a lot of the details, and our guests could attend a waterfront wedding in Poulsbo WA without even renting a car! Kiana provided set-up, clean-up, linens, silverware, food/beverage, and SO MUCH MORE! They were so easy to work with and Kiana made planning a wedding so much easier! We worked with Laura regarding our wedding details, and Amy in regards to our hotel block. They were amazing to work with- the distance was not a factor at all (Phone/Email/Skype). They were very helpful, provided fun/unique/amazing ideas, and worked hard to make our vision/ideas into a reality. Signature Cocktails, a Bacon Bar, smore bar, Food Allergies: They truly made it my perfect day! All event day staff was courteous, friendly, and remained relatively behind the scenes- I barely noticed them and heard nothing but positive feedback, which is PERFECT! The facility is absolutely gorgeous and provides a plethora of photo opportunities: Beachfront, Garden, Lodge, Dock, etc. It has ample opportunities to accommodate any type of weather BEAUTIFULLY which is a HUGE plus for Washington State! What a beautiful setting if one has to be in an 11 hour meeting this is where you want to be. When we got break time and I loved walking around the back property against the water. The landscaping and flowers are so nice. And there's lots of chairs to sit out and take in the sun when it comes out. The meals that we had there were ok. Gorgeous gorgeous setting, which I would give 5 stars for! We got married here in September 2017 and I chose them for the location and that they do everything; the set up, take down, catering, and clean up. Also there was a shuttle from/to the Clearwater Resort where many of us were staying, so that was convenient. While the coordinator has a "yes" attitude about any requests which is nice, my complaints are that the coordinator was difficult/slow to communicate with via email, and didn't do much to guide us through the process of our arrangements with them - one fallout was that my final payment was not processed ahead of time so I had to spend part of my reception on the phone with my bank. The appetizers were delicious - they did a great job with those, but the dinner was very disappointing. The main course, pasta primavera, had zero flavor and almost no vegetables in it. We requested broccolini which we both love, but it also had no flavor - not cooked with garlic or even salt and pepper. A few guests mentioned that they were not able to get second servings of the salad or ravioli (some of the more flavorful items, despite that the salad was not the one I asked for) even though we had several guests less than planned. Drink wise our 2 sponsored drinks were the whiskey ginger which was delicious, and mojitos, which guests said were a bit strange (definitely not fresh - I wish I had asked). So in retrospect I wish I had discussed the menu directly with the chef and in more detail. But the gorgeous setting made it a great event despite the issues. read more

I got married at Kiana Lodge in September 2018. Not only is the venue stunning, with beautiful views of the water and well-maintained grounds, but the staff was very accommodating. Pam, the day of coordinator, was great to work with. She knew the right questions to ask in our calls that we had with her before the wedding. On the day of the wedding, she was there to help out with coordinating which ended up being really helpful when everything started moving quickly. For the dinner, we made some requests to have special recipes cooked that were different than the Kiana menu. The kitchen was able to execute these recipes very well. Our wedding was perfect, and a lot of the credit goes to the Kiana Lodge being a great place to hold a wedding and the staff executing well. So happy we chose this venue. read more

My husband and I were huge fans of our wedding venue Last August. You really can't beat the scenery, pacific northwest tranquility, and of course.. the flowers. :-) What most impressed us about working with the lodge aside from the tremendous location? Definitely their ability to adapt, and to work with us through natural changes and hiccups through our wedding planning process. (which everyone has) They made me feel like whatever concern I had could be remedied. I also liked being given free rein of the property to do whatever we liked in terms of decorating, including taking down the more ordinary hanging ferns in the reception hall. We definitely made that place our very own for the big day. Cons? Not being able to hire our own catering. This was a *big* turn off for us. With the exception of the famous Salmon Bake, we were very unimpressed with the food that we tasted at the Lodge tasting prior to our wedding. So we asked if they could use a few of our recipes to doctor up the steak option. They had no problem using our recipe for the chimiccuri sauce as we asked did and our wedding selections turned out to be a great success. House wine selection: Aside from their white wines, their red selection was pretty low quality. It forced us to do a little more work to find our own wine, but we ended up finding a shockingly impressive $7.00 bottle of Hands cabernet, paid their corkage fee and it amounted to just about the same price as if we had used their less impressive house wine selections. In the end, we had twenty of our own bottles left over that we were excited to use at functions at our home. If you're getting married here, I strongly recommend picking and bringing your own local wedding coordinator, that way when you need to have a meeting you won't need to hop a ferry every time. We did that and things worked very well, and our coordinator had great communication with the coordinator that is appointed by the Lodge. Two sets of eyes to handle our wedding size (150) was very needed in our case. My last con is actually for the Clearwater Resort, which is where we stayed. The hotel property and the Kiana Lodge are deeply connected, and while it worked well for transportation to and from the Hotel to the venue, I will say that I was shocked to hear how many reservations were goofed up for our hotel guests. There were so many mistakes in terms of our guests that it was pretty embarrassing. The hotel is beautiful, the location is beautiful, but this is purely a staff issue. (at least it was August 2015) Also, my heartbreak came when they didn't have room service. Again, my coordinator and the lodge coordinator worked some strings to get the Bridal Suite fruit, champagne, etc. but the thought of not having snacks, etc for the room threw me for a last minute loop. Heavenly... this property exceeded my expectations the first time I stepped in and every time we visit. Kiana does a wonderful job showcasing the Pacific Northwest's beauty throughout the year. In the spring and summer blossoms abound the property, I feel like I've been transported to a tropical resort in another era. Hanging baskets, bursting flower beds, a pleasing landscape that compliments the great lodge and smaller lodge. There's a magnificent weeping willow overlooking the great lawn, a serene background for ceremonies. I wonder how many weddings the old tree has witnessed? By the willow, there's a rocky beach with giant driftwood and colorful pebbles. Nearby there's a deck with a fire-pit for those cold northwest evenings. Stroll along the beach or the lovely boardwalk, stretching to the back of the property with views of Agate Pass, Bainbridge Island, a bridge and the mountains afar. The Great Lodge is welcoming with Native American art that gives history, warmth and reverence to the space. There are large windows that open towards the lawn and water for outdoor/indoor entertainment. A full bar area, fireplace and reception area will fill needs for any large event. The staff are wonderful, especially the Chef who uses local foods to further express the inner beauty of Kiana. The smaller building is more intimate, with a fireplace, dinning room and seating areas for guests to read a book or converse over wine, hot cocoa or a cocktail. Ample parking on a gravel lot surrounded by fir, pine and cedar trees. Lookout for hidden topiary animals! Arrive here via auto or bus there's enough parking for both. Speaking of transportation, if you're from the Seattle area, like myself, take the 30min Bainbridge Island Ferry, it makes for a nice day trip away from the bustling city! When you're done enjoying Kiana and you're looking for action drive a few minutes to Snoqualmie Clearwater Casino and Spa nearby. (I'll need to write another review that resort in the future.) My sister got married here last week. It was absolutely stunning. Gorgeous flowers everywhere and a perfect water view. Unfortunately it rained so the ceremony was held inside but it was still beautiful. The Moose Room is entirely done in wood and feels like a log cabin. Words alone cannot accurately describe the beauty of this lodge. You have to see it to believe it. This was truly the most perfect Pacific Northwest wedding venue and I couldn't have asked for a more dreamy day! We had our wedding here in July and we were BEYOND impressed with, not only the venue itself, but the staff/ service, the planning process, and everything in between. Venue: This place is STUNNING and speaks for itself - little to no decorating needed. The grounds are so well maintained and manicured, with beautiful flower baskets and gardens all around. We had our wedding outside facing the water, which was such a beautiful backdrop. The garden atrium, where we had our reception, is so dreamy, with all the wood, the natural light coming in from all the windows, and the open feel. There is an awesome space for groomsman to get ready in the "moose room" of the lodge, and a cute little room for bridesmaids and the bride to get dressed and do "touch-ups." The outside lawn was perfect for lawn games (Cornhole, giant jenga, etc.) during our cocktail hour, and there was even the option for a bonfire by the beach later in the evening. It really is all-inclusive, with a venue coordinator to help with planning, food, drinks, etc, so it made the planning process so much easier. In addition, they do a super helpful tasting/ open house of sorts in January for all the couples that have booked dates in the upcoming year, which was so helpful! In addition to the food tasting, there are also all kinds of wedding vendors there and we were able to find our florist during this event! Staff: Pam was our venue coordinator and she was so amazing to work with. From the very beginning she was so helpful and knowledgable. We did most of our communication with her via email and a couple phone calls as we live in Las Vegas, but she always helped keep our planning on schedule and made me feel at ease throughout the whole process. She even met with my mom and sister at the venue a few times. She's got wedding days down to a science at Kiana Lodge and knows exactly how to keep things on schedule and running smoothly. She was there for us, not only throughout the planning process, but also on the day of and we are just so grateful to her for everything she did for us. The other staff members that were there on the day of were also wonderful, helpful, and fun, yet professional. Food: This place provides all the food, from appetizers during cocktail hour, to dinner, and all of it is delicious. All our guests loved the signature salmon and were very impressed with the food and beverage service (we chose to do plated dinner instead of a buffet and were very happy with that decision). I was so happy I didn't have to find an outside caterer for our wedding - it was helpful to just have all of it included. A couple tips - if you are planning to book a summer date here, do it early! Weekends book really fast! Don't hesitate to book - just do it! You won't be disappointed. You'll also want to make sure that the Clearwater Casino & Hotel, just five minutes down the road, has rooms available if you have a lot of out of town guests attending - it's really one of the only hotel accommodations available nearby (and their lodge rooms are beautiful!), plus they provide a shuttle to and from the venue - so convenient! It really does have some great attributes and for the most part the staff was great and really accommodating. However. The coordinator Pam is unprofessional and oversteps her role. During your "planning meetings" with her she seems like she has her act together and like you wont have to worry about anything on your Big Day, when in actuality, the closer our day got, the more she dropped the ball. I was constantly finding mistakes which I would have to call or email to correct or felt like we were being pushed aside and not being handled the way we should have been. Also on my wedding day she was chasing around my mother and the rest of the wedding party trying to pin corsages on them, which she was not asked to do until someone told her to stop and said that I had another family member I actually wanted to do that. Seriously, a no brainer when it comes to your future event. I have used Kiana Lodge a number of times for command parties. These people are fantastic and so are the grounds. Everything is kept immaculate and it just looks like someone took a small slice of outdoors heaven and transplanted it (yes in the trees) but near Poulsbo. Like it feels so very secluded. The dining/event halls make everything feel so upscale as well. Want a DJ but can't afford one? They'll do that stuff, need some food but don't want to pay for a caterer? They got you covered there too. A dancestage? Photographer? bonfire? I really could go on and on, you get the point. Also, if your familiar with military events, lets talk about the POW/MIA table customary to each military event. I had only finished with, "Hey can you guys do a POW..." and she immediately let me know that they would have it ready for us. Lastly lets talk about the food since I brought it up previously. OMG, the Kiana signature salmon is damn near to die for. This place is seriously 5 stars and there isn't even a question. The customer service to the quality of what your paying for is top notch. If your going to have any event anytime in the near future, give them a call or kick yourself in the back for the rest of your life. Your call. read more

Our son and daughter-in-law were recently married at Kiana Lodge. It was extraordinarily beautiful, family and kid friendly, and had excellent service and delicious food. Food first: The salmon was superb, the petite filets perfectly done, and the wild mushroom ravioli heavenly. Everything was fresh and delicious. Service next: Emails and phone calls were always returned promptly. Our son and his fiancée thoroughly enjoyed the "mass" tasting with many other couples in January, especially since other vendors were invited, too. They found their photographer, baker, and florist there. The day of the wedding, the set-up was beautiful. Servers were there when you needed them and otherwise unobtrusive. Family friendly: The venue is large enough, that a good deal of playful noise from children is just absorbed. Between activities they had that huge lawn to play on. We had perfect weather, but even if it had been wet, the indoor areas are also spacious, and there are covered terraces with comfortable chairs and tables. Finally, extraordinarily beautiful: It has everything--a view of the sea and mountains, wide grass lawn, lush flowers, and stately trees. One reviewer mentioned the Native American items and multicolor flowers were not compatible with their wedding theme. If that is a concern, visit or study photos on their website. Our son and daughter-in-law were not locked into a theme or color scheme and felt the single totem pole contributed dignity and serenity to the beautiful Pacific Northwest atmosphere, and the variety of flowers was a major asset. One last comment: There are many lovely outdoor venues, but Kiana Lodge is one of very few with room indoors for 125+ people in case of rain. My clients are always blown away by the beauty of the property, and they love the fact that it's not a public property so we get it "to ourselves" for their time slot on the wedding day. The rates are so reasonable that most of my clients will actually book both time slots and have it all day! I have planned and coordinated more than a dozen weddings at this venue over the past decade and all have been wonderful, beautiful and memorable. I love hearing the guests comment upon arrival about how amazing the venue is. The staff is always friendly and helps me out wherever I need it. They are easy to reach and communicate with in the days leading up to the event for any last minute requests or changes. While the food is not "gourmet" or stuffy, it is always really good and they will work with you on custom options if you need it. Don't miss out on the salmon! The best I've ever had. Kiana's food and beverage pricing is excellent and well below most of the other venues I work with. it's a great value! Nothing beats a sunny afternoon at Kiana with the immaculate grounds, well kept flower planters and flower beds, the gorgeous waterfront and nice large lawn for the ceremony and cocktail hour. And even in rain, the indoor ceremony option is wonderful due to all of the natural light coming in. Also if it rains, there are covered walkways with glass ceilings to use for outdoor photos or just to keep guests dry when moving from building to building. Amazing venue for most any event. Spectacular grounds, gorgeous views, easy access & just a ferry ride away from Seattle. I was married here in 2000 and had a beautiful experience with not only the staff but the food also. I cannot express how prepared the venue is for both indoor & outdoor events. Being in WA we all no you Just can never depend on the weather. We were lucky enough to have our outdoor wedding as planned with indoors ready to go. Frickin disgusting. I went here for thanksgiving dinner with my family and I was expecting something better than absolute garbage. My whole family got sick from the terrible stuffing. I hope this place gets better chefs. Also the turkey was awfully dry, the pumpkin pie was sour, the cookies were hard, the ham was fatty, the coffee was gross, the tap water was the only good thing about it. read more

We had our wedding at the Kiana Lodge in November and it was absolutely perfect. The venue is beautiful, the food was great, and Pam was such a huge help to us throughout the planning process; always following up with us and making herself available for any questions we had. The day of the wedding everything ran so smoothly, we had so much help from her and the staff that myself and our bridal party/family were able to just enjoy the day, and not worry about anything else. I went to an all-day writing conference at Kiana Lodge and was blown away by how gorgeous the place is. Views out to the Sound from all the rooms, amazing museum-quality basketry on display in the rooms, woodwork, taxidermy, amazing wall art and paintings all over the place. A truly inspiring location!! The rooms have so much natural light. Loved it! I did not bring my camera which was dumb since there were beautiful sights all day. I got married here in October 2014 and cannot say enough great things about it! The location right on the waterfront with the beautiful gardens and flowers combined with the rustic lodge setting made it immediately apparent to me that this was where I had to get married! Planning with kiana was a really positive experience. I worked with Pam, who is extremely friendly and helpful. Luckily, it was a really nice day out so I was able to get married outside in front of the water. We were also able to reserve the 12 hour flex time which was great so we could pick any 12 hours we wanted to have the space. I didn't have to do much in terms of decor because the venue is already so beautiful. The food was also a big plus- the salmon, mashed potatoes and steak were all delicious and we received a number of compliments about the food. There is also shuttle service you can get from the clearwater casino hotel to the lodge, which made transportation easier! Another cool offering is that they have a fire pit, so we were able to have that going during the wedding so people could make s'mores. Overall, I couldn't have asked for a better venue! read more
