However, it appears that the studio is still run and owned by Robin. I have the most amazing memories from my time at WCDA, and for that I'm extremely grateful. I remember that the instructors were so kind, the studio itself was beautiful and in a great location, and the recitals were organized and well-produced. I praise WCDA for instilling a sense of positive self-esteem in their students and providing such a sacred space for creative self-expression. I'll never forget the pure joy and excitement I felt on the day prior to our recitals that they hung up the photos of our dance recital costumes we'd be wearing. So many sequins!

Only me and one other student showed up, and the place smelled like a sweat-fest (those ballerinas before us must have been workin' it). Teacher was casual, a very talented choreographer, and hungry because she kept going to the side of the studio to eat her dinner in between instructions. I didn't sweat (again, I think my body was tricked by the studio's aroma into thinking it wasn't necessary) but I did feel challenged by the routine. Only about 1/3 of the class time was dedicated to dancing; the rest was warm up moves, funkywalking across the floor, stretching, and ab exercises. The music choices were contemporary which was a plus. I would have liked to learn a longer routine than three counts of 8, but its all good.

Twice a week, the long, one room studio fills with something like 20 local women, all ages, all sizes, all smiles. It was very impressive how many people commented, as they arrived, on how wonderful the setting was -- "How did you find this place?" It has a lot of charm and a bit of quirkiness thrown in for flavor. Reasonably priced, conveniently located, and managed by members of the Club who were readily accessible and accommodating. We had a great night and much of the mood was provided by the ambiance of the AWC. Wholeheartedly recommend choosing this location for gatherings!

So the time comes and we're pulling up and I ask the boy where we're going. He says "there" and points to a really cute looking historic home. I swear I must have let out a sigh of relief at that point. The place was really quaint with old wallpaper and furniture. It's like visiting your great grandparents house, that sort of feel. We had the whole place to ourselves, but spent the time downstairs where there was a full kitchen, dining room area and living room. The perfect space for the number of guests that came. Upstairs is a big room that's all cleared out with a little stage. I hear they teach ballroom dancing to kids here once a week, which I think is fantastic. Overall I was impressed with the place and was happy my family had picked someplace a little more unique for the day. Now if only I can convince the boy to someday move back to Acton so the future offspring can take dance lessons here!

BEST DANCE STUDIO EVER!…read more I have been dancing at ADS since the beginning and the studio is my second home. I have grown so much as a dancer and as a person here. I have made the best memories here and I am so so lucky to have met the best people ever here at ADS. I love everyone here and Nanci is the best teacher/owner ever! Everyone loves Miss Nanci! I met my best friends here and this is the best place for your child to grow up and become their own person. The environment is so welcoming and it is amazing to watch every single dancer grow and mature. The dances and costumes are absolutely beautiful and the annual recital is always a huge hit! She had been at another studio since she was three but that studio decided to concentrate on their dance team and she was not a part of that. The students and teachers at ASB welcomed my daughter with open arms. In only two years there she made some very good friends. The students went out of their way to make sure she felt included. The teachers assisted her with her musical theater college applications and even attended her senior high school musical to support her. The other parents were also very kind to me. I love the fact that at the spring performance all of the seniors are given a lead regardless of their level or how long they have been dancing. They honor them all equally. My only regret is that I did not enroll my daughter there sooner.
