Teacher was casual, a very talented choreographer, and hungry because she kept going to the side of the studio to eat her dinner in between instructions. I didn't sweat (again, I think my body was tricked by the studio's aroma into thinking it wasn't necessary) but I did feel challenged by the routine. Only about 1/3 of the class time was dedicated to dancing; the rest was warm up moves, funkywalking across the floor, stretching, and ab exercises. The music choices were contemporary which was a plus. I would have liked to learn a longer routine than three counts of 8, but its all good.

It was very impressive how many people commented, as they arrived, on how wonderful the setting was -- "How did you find this place?" It has a lot of charm and a bit of quirkiness thrown in for flavor. Reasonably priced, conveniently located, and managed by members of the Club who were readily accessible and accommodating. We had a great night and much of the mood was provided by the ambiance of the AWC. Wholeheartedly recommend choosing this location for gatherings!

They were with what appeared to be their grandmothers.. who either spoiled them rotten and wouldn't dare tell them to keep quiet.. or the grandmothers were short of hearing. Who knows. But definitely ruined the experience. Also, there was no live orchestra which was a disappointment. The sets were very simple if not dismal. And the dancing was ok... they tried their best. For the price they were charging ($45 for adults!!!) I expected a lot more overall. Next year I'm heading to the Boston ballet.

My daughter started at ASB as a high school junior. She did not know what to expect coming in as an…read moreolder student. She had been at another studio since she was three but that studio decided to concentrate on their dance team and she was not a part of that. The students and teachers at ASB welcomed my daughter with open arms. In only two years there she made some very good friends. The students went out of their way to make sure she felt included. The teachers assisted her with her musical theater college applications and even attended her senior high school musical to support her. The other parents were also very kind to me. I love the fact that at the spring performance all of the seniors are given a lead regardless of their level or how long they have been dancing. They honor them all equally. My only regret is that I did not enroll my daughter there sooner.

The family that is created there and the care that Laoshì Eliot has for all of us students is unmatched. He always finds new ways to challenge us and improve our kung fu. He shows a patience that I have never seen in someone before. The school is easily the most welcoming environment I know (other than my own home of course). In fact, it is like a second home. We don't go there just to train and get fit, we go there to grow as people and as martial artists. We learn to protect ourselves and others, and to show respect for everyone, no matter who they are. The environment is also very safe, and from what I've experienced with some years in both the kids and adult classes, Laoshì can handle a full plate like an absolute champ. This place has without a doubt changed my life.

MWKF has a good schedule of classes, is very progressive in that they invite special instructors that teach similar although slightly different kung fu styles, and has an overall excellent culture that focuses on the students. My son had taken Music Together lessons with Mister Vic before and we knew that he would do a great job entertaining the kids. Most of the children were 5 yrs. old; there were some 2/3 yrs. old as well. Mr. Vic managed to engage and entertain all of them at all times, he definitely has a special gift! The parents also loved it and were very happy to see their kids enjoying the music, exploring instruments and dancing! Mister Vic was very nice and kind and he even offered to sing Happy Birthday at cake time! And last, but not least, Pat was super nice and helpful in helping book the party and providing great advice on how to have the space set up for the party. My husband and I had a wedding song which isn't really a frequent play, and John was more than willing to accommodate us and play our special song. It really made our night to have it as our wedding song! :) From start to finish, planning was an absolute breeze! John was extremely helpful in suggesting mother/son and father/daughter-in-law music. The mother/son pick turned out to be one of mom's favorite songs!! With only a few generic suggestions from us, the band played an amazing variety of music that suited us and every last guest. People we never expected to see dancing completely rocked the dance floor! I can honestly say that we left that night wondering what kind of party we can have next, just to have a reason to work with Shine Band again!!
