Wow! First time AND LAST TIME! I am absolutely floored at the owners disrespect behavior towards my children and I! I have been into countless stores with my children every day for 12 years. I have NEVER had 1 issue! I love supporting local markets.... so decided to give it a try...I didnt realize I walked into Satan's house. My children help me in the grocery -- They enjoy helping the family out. I told my 9 year old son to grab a watermelon. I turn around to grab something else and some lady behind the counter (the owner) was screaming at my son!! I thought it was a joke, actually. To which I told her I told him to grab it and he was more than capable (he works out daily and can lift heavier than most adults) She was staring at us the entire time!! Everything my kids touched something she screamed at them like they were breaking things (which they werent). I slammed my items on the counter (I am a very patient person and hard to get upset) and told her to say some extra prayers for herself bc she was out of line on many occasions! She had no issues telling me off, then yelling at one of her staff members while she was ringing me out. She told me if he dropped a watermelon then its her problem. And, I replied "1. He didnt drop it. 2. I would have gladly cleaned it up". To which she replied "No, you wouldnt have!! Blah blah blah" If I was truly smart I would have left my "fresh" produce on the counter and walked out and gone next door to Gobes! The husband behind the counter just stared like "here we go again.." Do NOT go here.. and by reading more reviews, seems like she has issues with most families. Shes a miserable person. read more

I purchased a dozen ears of corm this summer for $9.00 a dozen which is the highest price I have ever paid at Fowl's. The corn was in poor condition. I contacted Fowl's on their website contact form two times and never received a response. I love their corn, but this visit made me unsatisfied. I can buy good corn locally at my supermarkets for less cost and the taste is just as good. I want to support my local businesses, but due to the lack of response to my inquiry, I do not know that I would go back this year. Good produce.... unique foods as well.....nice selections in deli and .fresh bakery....and the staff is helpful and friendly. I like shopping there and will continue to do so. Beautiful market that is well stocked. We wanted to get sweet corn for dinner and decided to give this place a try. It was well laid out with a good variety of items. Fresh fruit and vegetables, baked goods, meat, dairy and lots of items in between. They have carts available for shopping. The sweet corn was only $4 a dozen. A few pieces were not perfect in our bag but we still thought it was a great value. Plus they have a beautiful farm with the sunflower field! read more

I need to warn everyone in the Elyria and Lorain County area about a truly upsetting experience my wife and I had at Fowl's Farm Market (12770 State Rt. 113, Elyria, OH) on Sunday, September 7, 2025, around 2 PM. This isn't just a one-off bad day--it's unprofessional behavior that left my wife in tears and shocked another customer. If you're planning a visit for fresh produce, pies, or fall mums, think twice! My wife, a petite 4'11" Petite woman who is very attractive and was dressed nicely (she even received three separate compliments on her outfit and hair from strangers later that afternoon), was outside browsing the mums on sale. They were displayed on shelves, but 6-10 pots were already scattered on the ground. She politely pulled down a few more to compare them for fullness and straightness-nothing out of the ordinary for shopping. That's when the owner, an older man, stormed out and immediately called her a "slob," insisting all the mums were the same and she shouldn't touch them. My wife stayed calm and cool, apologizing and offering to put them right back where they were. But he walked away, only to return moments later with a young man (likely an employee), repeating the insult: "Don't touch those-you're not buying anything!" He banned her from the store on the spot and even refused to let her come inside to get me, saying, "No, leave and don't come back ever." Meanwhile, I was inside, ready to buy pies and other items, completely unaware until she texted me in distress. By the time I came out to check on her, she was crying from the humiliation. To make it worse, another shopper-- a complete stranger to us--witnessed the whole thing and was absolutely blown away by the owner's rudeness. She couldn't believe how he treated a polite customer over something so minor. especially when pots were already on the around! We ended up leaving without buying anything, hearts heavy from the unnecessary cruelty. This wasn't just poor customer service; it felt targeted and mean-spirited, especially toward a woman who was minding her own business. I've seen similar complaints online about this owner being rude to customers (even kids), so this seems like a pattern. Businesses like this rely on friendly, welcoming vibes, especially at a farmers market-Fowl's is failing miserably. I stopped by Fowls wanting to see if they had any cantaloupes. When I stopped there was before they built the new building. I saw some really good cantaloupes, I bought two of them and let me tell you that these were really huge cantaloupes. I'm handicapped and the young man who waited on me carried them to my car and I never asked him for that service but I could tell that this young man was customer oriented and took care of business. When I got home I washed one and cut the cantaloupe and had four pieces and let me tell you that it was the sweetest tasting cantaloupe that I've had in a long time, very delicious and definitely going back to stock up. read more

Rude & insensitive to a longtime loyal customer who pointed out a problem with a batch of corn purchased. Was offered a dozen corn so I hesitated & said "that would be nice, hope it's better". The owner said "there's no hoping about it! Got upset & rescinded his offer & would not discuss after that. We had been purchasing their corn every week since first picking & recommending family & friends but if that's how they treat loyal customers, we certainly won't be back. The woman at the counter echoed his sentiments when I called. Went in there to purchase produce & baked goods, not even intending on getting corn. Thought I was helping by mentioning a problem. Fowl's Market offers pesticide free fruits and veggies, they answered all my city girl questions, and had a delicious variety of sweets, drinks, spices and meats from other small farms and organizations. It's easy to find as they have a couple large signs you can't miss when driving down the road. Looking forward to my next visit! read more

Not a Family friendly place to shop! they do not let you choose your own ears of corn and are known for spiking your bag with undesirable ears of corn. They are very disrespectful and have no customer service skills. I believe they are racist against Asian people as it is the only logical explanation for the evil treatment we received from them today. We stopped by today to get corn to compare to Grobes farm about a minute to the west of fowls. We will never go back to Fowls even if the corn is free! The price of their corn is a direct reflection of their business, they can't charge more because of what you get from them! Very disrespectful and a disgrace to American farmers I suggest everyone Boycott Fowls too many family friendly businesses just down the street! read more

Instead of explaining to the parents that he doesn't let you touch the peaches and you have to buy the entire basket and not a few, he kept yelling at her. Hello all, I want to start by saying I have just recently moved to Ohio from Colorado and have always loved farmers markets and fresh food. I found this place online and visited their establishment with my family. This is a family owned business and I went to shop there today and was told to never come back. This was due to the fact that my sister brought her service dog with us when the door clearly states "service dogs welcome". From the moment we walked in we felt un welcomed and watched by them. My little sister who is 13 then accidentally dropped a radish on the floor and was asking to put it in the trash can. The owners then yelled at her and told her that now the radish was contaminated and they had to throw the whole package away. My little sister ran to the car crying as we tried to pay for the things we had put in our cart. When we got to the counter to pay the mother father and son we're surrounding the register and when we tried to put our items on the counter one of the onions slipped out of my mothers hands onto the counter. The mother said that we were no longer welcome to shop there and to leave their store and never come back. We left the cart there and went to the car with the son chasing after us trying to explain to us that his mom "felt like we were throwing the products at her"and that our dog wasn't actually a service animal. Me and my family will never return back to this snotty establishment as they are discriminatory towards service animals, disabled people, and to people who don't look like "they fit in". If I could rate this with negative stars I would. I am visiting in town from Denver and I decided to go get some produce from what I thought was a cute farmers market. From the second my family and I walked in we immediately felt unwelcome. My 13 year old sister was screamed at by the grumpy old man who runs the counter for dropping a radish and I was told my service dog was illegitimate. Never have I been so rudely discriminated against for having a service dog. I absolutely do not recommend this place if you actually want to be treated with some human decency. After we were told not to return by the rude woman, the son followed us to our car and continued to harass us until we drove out of the driveway. I am disgusted by the lack of customer service and just overall human empathy that this family displayed. Violating the Americans with Disabilities act as well as making a 13 year old cry. Good job guys. Do not recommend even if it was the only store within a 50 mile radius. Im disgusted. read more

I stopped here enroute to Grobe's and was glad I did. The owner was standing behind a carefully arranged array of beautiful produce and was smiling. I know this work is very hard and demanding and exhausting, but sometimes when I stop at other farm stands, the owners almost glare at me like they're daring me to stop. Yes, Fowl's selected my corn for me, but the ears were perfect and tasted delicious. the peaches were freestone and delicious and were better than the other stands I had stopped at. I went to my car to get the small amount of change I needed to finish paying and the owner carried the rest of my purchases to the car, still smiling. Friendly family - excellent fruit and veggies. I visit this stand weekly during the summer....I have NEVER gotten bad fruit or veggies. Corn is always sweet full kernels and is a "bakers dozen" ...they now accept debit credit and EBT. The fruit looks great but they seem to insist you pick a basket and they will get in themself's even got a sign that says Don't Touch the barriers. So for this stand thier name fits. read more
