They started our roof on a Monday and finished on Friday - turns out we actually had 2 roofs they had to tear off which turned it into a much larger job, especially considering one side of our roof is steeply sloped. All of the workers were friendly, helpful and did a great job. They arrived about the same time each morning and worked hard all day. We had a hard time choosing a roof color (they use GAF Timberline RS) and we ended up going with Sagewood. He was responsive throughout our whole interaction and he ranks up there as one of the most thorough, helpful, and transparent roofing experts I've spoken to. You can tell he loves his vocation, treats his everyone with respect & dignity, and expects high quality workmanship from his team. Our quote was competitive and within a few thousand compared to two other similar companies. While we opted to go with another provider for our roof (it was truly a difficult choice), we'll certainly return to Volt when we're ready to install solar due to the customer service and attentiveness I experienced during the estimate process. There were finishing touches around the gutters that were never completed, specifically the caulking. I'll take some responsibility for paying the final bill because I assumed they would come back and finish the job. However, considering how much money we paid, I absolutely expected the company to make sure the job was completely finished before considering it paid in full. We have contacted them MULTIPLE times about the unfinished work. We have been told they would come back and take care of it, only for them to never show up. Other times, we've reached out and received no response at all. On top of that, we were never provided with a paid invoice, despite having paid for the work. We shouldn't have to repeatedly chase down a company for both unfinished work and basic documentation after paying them a significant amount of money. At this point, it's incredibly frustrating. The actual roofing work may have been good, but a job isn't truly finished when there are unfinished details, the company repeatedly says they'll come back and doesn't, messages go unanswered, and we still don't have a paid invoice. This could have been a very positive experience, but the lack of communication, follow-through, and professionalism has really changed my opinion. If you hire them, I strongly recommend making sure every single detail is completed, inspected, and documented before making your final payment.

However, every time it rained, the gutters would overflow. I called his office and asked for them to come out and look, I sent videos, but never got the help I wanted and asked for. He was wonderful to work with but the follow-through afterwards lacked. I have attached pictures to show the rain pouring out of the gutters. I am glad we have rain in California today, I just wish that the rain was going down the gutters and not onto my redwood deck. I would not refer someone to him, sadly.
