I have been with Fowler's for 20 yrs. I would not ever consider changing companies. No matter the day /the weather etc, they are on the way, and fix a problem, no matter how large or small. The ladies in the OFFICE are wonderful. Being a widow & not real smart on home heating & air . the ladies know how to calm my situation. I have the maint. and very proud I do. Richard was at my home on 09/11/2025 at 9:am. He took care of a small problem I didn't know I had, also explained to me the years of the system. I have been with Fowler and Heating & Cooling almost now for 15 years. There have been a number of maintenance personnel that I've seen this morning. I woke up to a cup of coffee and service at around 9 o'clock from Fowler's appointment for annual maintenance. Met a gentleman by the name of Richard. A technician that knows what he's doing pleasant fellow to meet and I advise anybody that does future business with Fowler's ask for Richard and above all when you have problems with your units ask for Heating & Cooling and MARION ILLINOIS. I'm a new customer and I was very impressed with the service. The tech was knowledgeable and showed me exactly what our issue was and even answered several of my questions as he worked. He had an opportunity to come by early due to a cancellation and called me first to see if it was alright. I was happy to get it taken care of that much sooner. And I'm glad he called so I could round up our cats and put them in a side room. Anyway, he was very professional and explained how the heating unit worked when I asked him. One of our pipes was in serious need of replacing (it was leaking carbon monoxide). He called the main office and they brought replacement parts right out to him in a matter of minutes. He serviced the heating unit, cleaned out the burners, and worked quickly. It's so nice to find a business that respects their customers like this. By the end of the service visit, he had already given me an idea of the cost and the final bill was a little less than we expected, so I was quite happy. The whole visit was probably less than two hours. I'd recommend Fowler to anyone who needs service for their heating or air conditioning. Great job! read more

In the middle of a bad cold spell, Fowler Heating replaced a furnace in one of our rental units. We have been very happy with their service from the first phone call. We have called upon Fowler Heating and Cooling twice in the past year to help us with heating and cooling problems we were having. On both occasions fowler was professional, predictable, helpful, effective and kind, with reasonable charges for their services. Most recently we had them install a new whole house humidifier. They did a great job. Steve was informative and helpful. Our new humidifier works perfectly. And their workspace was immaculate when they departed. They have my highest recommendation. I am perplexed by the negative review given by one of the other posters. His experience could not be farther from my own. My guess is that poster's relentless, cruel, and angry review has much more to say about the person who made the post than it has to say about the quality of the service Fowler has to offer. At one time or the other, I have had the opportunity to work with all three heating and cooling companies here in Marion. I have received courteous, professional and competent help from each of them. They came in with the big duct cleaning truck, which isn't cheap and must have not checked the furnace for functionality as it did not work. Now they want to charge $200 to have it trouble shot. read more

It cracks me up how, more than 2 years after my TERRIBLE experience with your company, you still go around posting the exact same response to my reviews everywhere I have posted them...You banned me from posting about my experiences on your Facebook page, but I will continue to do everything in my power to warn others of my experience... Your canned response sounds like a business owner that is concerned about his reputation, but TALK IS CHEAP. Two years after the fact, I never received my capacitor that I STILL feel was stolen from me, and I am STILL out the $200+ I was charged for nothing other than LOSING my capacitor! If you were TRULY concerned about your business reputation, refunding the service charge would have been a no-brainer, instead of leaving it to me to replace MORE than what I had to before you showed up! The bright side is, I have found another repair shop that I know I can trust. They fixed my unit, for a FRACTION of what I was charged for your SERVICE CHARGE alone, (where I basically paid for nothing other than to have parts taken from me), and even found and fixed a small problem on my furnace for NO ADDITIONAL CHARGE! Would your company have done that? I think not! My unit has now worked fine all through the rest of the summer season where I originally called Fowler, and for all of last summer as well. When I do have another problem, I know who to call, and it is NOT Fowler Heating and Cooling! ------ Since you have stated that you want a 'well rounded narrative of this situation', here is all I feel anyone needs to know to understand MY position: * I was charged over $200 for a service tech to come out and tell me my unit was not repairable, and that I would need to pay over $4000 to have it replaced. This later proved untrue after I received opinions from multiple other companies, NONE of which recommended replacing the entire unit. In the end, my unit was COMPLETELY FIXED for less than what I was charged for your original service charge alone! * The capacitor on my compressor WAS taken during this visit, and wires were broke when it was removed FROM my compressor, making it more difficult for me to get a second opinion from other companies. I still have not been given a good reason a to WHY this capacitor was removed from my system, especially in the manner it was removed. * You have stated in your responses that 'maybe we should not have taken your old capacitor'. If you really felt this was a mistake on your companies part, should not a refund have been immediately offered when this mistake was discovered? read more

I was one of those people who waited for the hot weather to turn on the A/C, instead of testing the unit in the early Spring. I called Fowler the Friday before Memorial Day. They were going to come out that day around 8pm, but I told them I could wait till after the holiday for service. The tech was a half hour behind schedule. They're busy, I can understand that. He tested all the components and charged the unit. It worked! Since the unit is also a "heat pump", he explained how the system worked. (The previous homeowners never left info on the units) I was never pressured to purchase a new unit. He stated as long as this one was doing it's job, why replace it. When you're new to the area, you take your chances calling a stranger for service. I was lucky I found Fowler. I will call them for all my future service needs. read more
