They sold me an illegal "chemical weapon" which was a byrna type derringer that came with pepper projectiles which are illegal in california when I asked about it in the display case the worker acted like he had no clue what it was (even though its a well known gun for jamming and being unreliable) when I called back not even like a couple hours later to ask if they would take a refund (keep in mind their receipt states that their items are refundable within 30 days if kept unused and sealed (which my item still was !) And he still said no to me which raised even more red flags Which makes this whole thing an issue for me is that the employee who sold me the launcher explicitly said that "it wasnt a pepper launcher " and basically a powder one. And I believed it because why would a FFL gun shop sell an illegal chemical weapon right? Makes you think what else they may be selling under the table. Wouldn't be suprised if they offer glock switches under the table. This place needs to be investigated Either way reporting to local PD ATF and any other agency that regulates their ffl license because this is NOT OKAY If I had been pulled over who knows what would have been the outcome Theres also a good chance they immediately pulled the item from shelves trying to cover their asses after realizing I dont even think they were supposed to sell this item in the first place considering they had no clue what it was "Your the reason the state keeps clamping down harder" exactly act like an ***hole to customers dont expect them not to snitch on you and protect you when you f*** up and break the law In reality YOU are making the laws worse. Its only play by the book until the book is playing you smh. All could have been avoided if you had taken the damn return like your own receipt says. I've been getting my guns from Fowler Gun room for years. I never really wrote a review because I'm pretty secretive and careful with talking about my collection and what I have. Smart responsible gun owners don't openly brag and talk about it to the public. Very unwise. I take gun safety and responsible gun ownership very seriously. But Sean has exceptional knowledge and the best prices for his guns. I've bought guns, safes, ammunition and bags from him. He's got it all! You cannot go wrong here. All his staff are also super friendly and helpful and very knowledgeable. I've sent friends there to purchase guns from his as well. They all had a great experience. Love my new gun safe. Thing weighed a ton lol. Super heavy. Took 4 of us to lift it into my house. Will be back in the new year to add to my collection! read more

Had a great first time experience at Fowlers today! I spent 45 minutes waiting at Turners, after my name had been called. I finally left after the employee helping me took his third trip to the back. I drove to Fowlers and Joe spent 30 seconds looking up the SKU of the shotgun before he had it on order. He then spent 20 minutes answering my admittedly overwhelming amount of questions. I was quickly greeted as I walked in by an employee who stated his name was Dalton. He quickly looked at the firearm and diagnose the problem within two minutes. Went to the range the following day and did now operates flawless thank you very much for the wonderful customer service that I always seem to receive whenever I go to your business. Over the years, Fowlers has become my "go to." The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. The store has a "neighborly" feel. I never feel rushed or pressured to buy anything. Almost every time I go into Fowlers, I see Joe, the manager. Joe always offers his hand for a handshake. Joe takes the time to ask me what I need and make recommendations. When other sales staff have assisted me, Joe has often followed up by asking me if I had any questions about what I just purchased and to let him know if I have any problems or concerns regarding what I had just purchased. I've always loved Fowlers. I have been shopping there for a very long time, and always finding myself back there to purchase my goods and pew pews. I rather support the local shops as I have been there, done that myself and I don't get the service that Fowlers provides at the big box or chain stores. Even at Turners, unless you're buddies with the sales guys, you're not on the radar to be recognized. Fowlers has always treated me like a valued customer. Back in the day, Stockade days, I shopped with you fine folks way too much, money would burn a hole in my pocket when I was in town. Several years passed as I wasn't around the area anymore and when I finally came back Orange County., besides nobody knowing my name anymore, the service was still there! True, prices are closer to retail, BUT Fowlers has the best service and selection in town! And for me, thats worth paying for! read more

Tried calling to inquire about inventory before I made the drive. Several calls later - no answer. I then parked in the parking lot and saw them sitting by the desk talking to each other. I called again and they just let it ring...not a good first impression. As soon as I walked I was not greeted and a tanned older gentleman walked over and is demeanor was not welcoming - like he didn't want me there. I'm no snob but his ego needed to be checked. I was told they do not have it in stock (fine) and to check their Instagram for inventory. Not the best customer service compared to Turner's. I'm willing to pay a lot more at Turner's than to go here again. Also, on their Instagram they only do zoom and "Check this out" type of posts. There's zero inventory list nor is there info on incoming stock items. read more

I wish there were 0 stars, because this place deserves it! I have avoided this place for years. Primarily because their prices are sky high. But I check back once or twice a year to see what their prices are doing, especially with regard to reloading components. They have the highest prices I've seen anywhere!! I'm a fan of capitalism, but there price gouging knows no bounds!! Stopped in week ago, and was encouraged that powder seems to be fairly abundant now, but $50/lb, for everything??? Seriously?? Even the 8lb jug of Green Dot was priced at $50/lb!! $399.99!!!! I've seen a pretty reputable online source with pricing at $180 for an Alliant 8 lb jug very recently. So Fowler's is just gouging the crap out of their customers! I am done with them. Please spend your money at literally ANY other place....Ammo Bros, Turners, etc And for reloading supplies, go see Brian at ReloadOC in Orange. Very knowledgeable and he keeps his powder prices at about $30/lb, even through the worst part of this shortage!!! read more
