The living area has a very, unabstructed view of the Straits and Van. Island. A sliding door opens to a deck with grill, table/chairs, lounge chairs and provided beautiful sunsets. Our room was elegant, peaceful with just the sound of the waves on the beach. We took pictures of an Eagle whom roosted nearby. Marsha was a wondeful host guiding us to restaurants, day trip locations, etc. Breakfast was fabulous, homemade and filling. I gave 5 stars as this place deserves it.

Tried calling the front desk to ask them to ask them to be mindful there are people downstairs. This did nothing. Was just dismissed, offered no solutions. And left to just endure this torturous experience. I'm now on day 2 of a three night stay and about ready to shoot myself. Poor construction. No transparency. No consideration from either the people upstairs, nor the resort themselves. Got this on a BC Ferries vacation package thinking it was a good deal. No deal is worth this. If you value your sanity at all, don't ever consider this place as a vacation option. I will never stay here again.

The guest above you were owners and come monthly. Typically, owners do not disclose whom they will be travelling with at time of booking as they book a year in advance. These owners were made aware of their disturbance to you while staying below and did try their best. Unfortunately, we were not able to move you as we were fully booked that weekend. I apologize for the inconvenience this caused you during your stay. I do hope that the rest of the resort amenities and your stay was to your satisfaction. It had been over three years since our last stay at this motel, and I must confess that this fact…read moremade me more than a little anxious. It isn't an uncommon occurrence for businesses to lose their mettle over the years, and let standards slip. However, I was stunned into silence when we arrived, as the owner of this motel actually raised her standards, instead of losing the plot. The grounds were immaculate. The rooms were like new despite the passage of time, and many guests over three years. There was just just one element to our stay that was less than endearing: our neighbours. On our first night, we chose to ignore all the noise next door, as we were extremely tired. On the second night, the noise commenced early in the evening, and by 11, it had worn us down completely. I wish I had approached the owner of the motel sooner, as she sorted out the problem instantly, and gave me her after hours number in the event the noise resumed. What a relief! Over three years later, and I still love this location very much. Highly recommended.

The balcony overlooks Parksville Bay and provides a wonderful view which was quite enjoyable and used a lot. Downsides are what can only be described as one of the worst beds we've ever experienced. Definitely time for a new mattress! The room was sometimes noisy with kids running around in adjacent rooms. Housekeeping service was OK, but not consistent as far as when the rooms get cleaned. Parking can be problematic, as there were times when the garage was full. Restaurant food and drinks is a plus, and room service was excellent. All in all, we had a nice week there.

Blown away. This…read morespot is lovely, and easily one the nicest B&B's I have ever enjoyed. The exposure is West-southwest, capturing the heat and the sunsets. There's A/C for comfortable nights during the summer, and fireplaces for ambience and warmth during the winter. Marsha's breakfast is delicious, and she was very accommodating to mentioned food restrictions. (Next time can we order two breakfasts?) There are also BBQ's and lots of area for dinner on the terraces. The other guests there at the same time as us were celebrating their first anniversary. None of us wanted to leave. To say that the suites are well-appointed falls far short. They have everything you need, and are cozy, comfortable and quiet. The hot tub is clean and has a spectacular view of the straight. Follow the gorgeous, long new staircase down to the water and you're surprised by private little spots with adirondack chairs. You can be 15 feet from other guests enjoying the beach and still feel like it's your own secret garden spot. There is a little spa cabin by the water as well, and although we didn't partake of the services, it was tempting. I could just imagine the ocean breezes lulling a person to sleep under the skilled hands of the local massage therapist. If you like to watch the boat traffic come and go, this is a great spot. If you're a gardener, you'll appreciate all of the planning and work that has gone into the property. If you like the beach, low tide opens up a white sand mini-spit just off the shore. And if you're crazy and brought work to do (like I did), there are tables in each suite, wifi and lots of peace and quiet.

The…read moreroom had everything we could think of and more, including peaceful and relaxing zen-styled decor, a large jacuzzi tub, steam shower, two sinks, a kitchenette that closes off from the rest of the room, relaxing music played during the day with the ability to plug in your own iPhone, and of course delicious fresh breakfasts that were different every day that we stayed there. The hosts, Will and Sylvie were extremely friendly and accomodating, knowledgeable about the area, and very hospitable. Furthermore, the B&B is just a short walk from the ocean and feels very private. My wife and I plan on staying here again in the future and recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing escape.

It seems that they are by nature open and receptive people, as we immediately felt welcomed. The location is a 3 min walk from the ocean. The Inn design and decor inspires calmness with it's clean lines surrounded by 5 story tall cedar trees. The Inn is built from cedar and that wonderful smell envelops you when you arrive; the windows are also framed in cedar- a very west coast look, the decor is Japanese Zen - including opaque 'rice paper-like' sliding doors between the kitchenette, the bedroom and the bathroom/spa rooms. I say bathroom/spa because it is like your own spa - but they do have an actual spa in the Inn with lots of great services-unfortunately we didn't make time to use them! The bathroom has double sinks, a steam bath shower- that's right, your own steam room in your bathroom!- and a tub for two or more with jet bubbles. The view from the bathtub, and the bed for that matter, is trees- just trees... you feel like you are in a tree house! There is a private patio for each room, ours had a glass roof, UV heater, bamboo water feature with pond plants, a love seat, chair and bistro table where we ate breakfast every morning. The breakfasts were filling and gourmet. The little touches such as a split basil leaf as a strawberry leaf on the berry garnish, allude to how much the hosts care about your experience. My gluten sensitivity was catered to without a hitch, nor did I feel like I was missing out because of it. We spend 3 nights there, could have spent a week. Although we were there in the summer- and the weather was perfect, I'd have no problem going there in the middle of winter as a retreat. I could have easily stayed in our room the whole three days- and that isn't just because I was on my honeymoon! ;-)

We rented a "Cypress" cottage for three nights via Expedia for late December, so this is a winter…read morereview. Our rental was owned by the resort (as opposed to being owned by an individual, which some cottages are). We found our rental very homey. It was spacious and layed out in such a way as to allow independent activities in different rooms that didn't impact the other person. The "resort" in mid-winter was quiet. The cottages are arranged close together, and it's easy to look into the windows next door. It's a tolerant jaunt to the beach and Rathtrevor Provincial Park, though not ADA accessible. If ADA access is needed to get to the beach, drive to the park from the resort (about one mile). The beach and park are outstanding in winter. The resort staff were very helpful and downright chipper. When we checked in, they kindly and patiently explained what was to us a unique style of accommodation (cottage rentals in a resort). Complaints and concerns expressed during our stay were graciously received, also. The kitchen was very good; plenty of accouterments and appliances. Note that the only food in the kitchen was salt and pepper. Bring spare paper towels and napkins. Washer and dryer worked great, and included one load's detergent. Bring detergent. The fireplace was either on or off, no adjustments. It heated the cottage quickly. We never figured out any of the three televisions' remotes, which didn't matter b/c we didn't want to watch TV. Could have been fresh batteries were needed; spares are recommended, as we changed the dead ones in the cottage clock. Beds were okay, with plenty of blankets. Bathrooms were fine with plenty of linens. Lots of closet and dresser space. Great layout in the cottage; very easy to move around.

After checkout, we got a bill for not stripping the beds, cleaning up and doing dishes. At no time were we told at booking that we would be charged for not cleaning up. This is first resort to charge you for not telling you that you will be charged. Definitely Not Going Back. We go to a resort to relax, Not to do housework!
