    High quality towel.

Nothing impressive. Cute lobby with gas fireplace. Room 229 was large with ample space and windows that overlooked the grass and trees so there was privacy. However the room smelled like smoke. I don't know if they do anything to clean the rooms after but it definitely was bothersome. The towels were clean but ranged in quality. One was thinner and unraveling on the edge, probably ready to be removed from rotation. No water provided in the room and no breakfast included. Bathroom had a sink separate (in the room). Bathtub is was clean and comfortable. Soap dispensers were stocked. Hair dryer was provided and not overly noisy or old. Area seemed fine, hotel tucked away from the main road and plenty of parking. Very convenient from NC state arena

Sometimes the best customer service starts with a miss. That was the case today at this 4 Points. They didn't have a room ready right away when I checked in and then upgraded me to a suite. That sounded great until I got to the suite and realized they just started cleaning it. Back to the front desk... When I went back to the desk I thanked them for the upgrade, but stated I just wanted a quick room today and I'd take an IOU on the suite (jokingly). I think they'll probably honor that if I ever asked My regular room was very nice! I love the lay out, the bed is more comfy than most hotels, and it all feels clean and new. It's convenient to most of Raleigh, there's a restaurant/bar walkable, easy walk to hockey and college football, and still a quiet spot with plenty of parking.

    Water pressure was decent.

This place is tucked back and not right in the middle of Raleigh. It's right next to a Breeze Through and BBQ place. Good food by the way! The rooms look exactly as the website. Very comfy decor. The bed was comfortable, no sag. Good towels, crisp sheets. The mattress is wrapped and has a pad. The room coffee wasn't horrible either. We stayed here so we could run a load of laundry in the middle of our road trip and the facility was super clean. (You need quarters) Vanity and sink has ample room. Closet was big. Water pressure in shower was decent. The curtain closes well so no water on the floor. Flush was powerful. Carpets clean, blackout shades were excellent! If this place fits your needs don't hesitate to stay. It's a great place. They even have little Chandon bottles you can purchase and bring up to your room

Love this hotel will be back.

The staff was amazing! They went out of their way to make my stay memorable. There's a bistro on site for the post dinner cravings.

Many issues were faced with the parking, tag not working properly, being charged by the garage on top of the $30/day charge from the hotel. Breakfast offers hot food and there is coffee and tea available 24/7 in the lobby. There are two elevators on opposite sides of the building so you can never be too far away. However, they both operate extremely slow. Upon checking in the room was facing the bar street, unknowingly booked the hotel where all the college students go out. While they do offer ear plugs and sound machines in each room it doesn't help much when it's 1am and so loud you can't sleep. The other options for rooms face the train or the street - no ideal placement. One bad interaction occurred with a staff member, after being charged to exit the garage I approached the front desk which had no one there. Turned to see a woman straddling the couch behind me who yelled across the lobby asking if I was checking in. When I said no and told her there was an issue with the parking she looked at me to continue when I realized she had no plan on getting up to assist us. She did not help sort out the problem but told us to call the parking garage to get a refund... Upon checkout there was a different worker present who graciously and with attitude I may add, removed one day of parking to make up for the garage charging. Next time I visit this town I will be avoiding this hotel to say the least. However, the rooms were clean and spacious.

The centerpiece of the house's interior is a rotunda supported by four Corinthian columns and lit by a stained glass window located on the roof. Walking into the foyer you cant help but embrace the timeless grace, where every corner whispers of history and a bygone era. There is a quiet serenity to the space, as if time slows just a little bit inside. The modern touch added to the old renovated mansion does come with a bit of a sharp, sterile elegance of a modern mansion. The Parlor is a great place to enjoy a delicious craft cocktail and even better, ADULTS ONLY! There are also many other lovely seating arrangements throughout the property, including outdoors, and a few even come with fire pits. Regardless of your intentions for visiting the Heights House, I am quite confident there will be no disappointments, unless they have a private event. Cheers!

Everything is lovely and though it is all modern and sleek, it still feels fitting for the original era of the house. The cocktail area takes up most of the main floor, with a stand-up bar just off the entryway with a few tables and then a larger lounging area with sofas and chairs just beyond. The drinks are exceptionally good, and the spirits menu is creative. They also offer a few small plates. There is plenty of paved parking immediately next to the hotel for guests only, so that is not a hassle as it can be at some B&B/inn-type establishments. At check-in, you are offered a complimentary glass of sparkling wine to set the tone. The rooms are comfortable, but I will say that the entry-level ones are quite small (which is apparent on the website), but for the rates charged there isn't even a place to sit and read a book other than the bed. There's one small, delicate wicker chair that would be for tying shoes or whatever, but not lounging. The bed is luxuriously dressed, and there is drawer space and a minifridge, but no closet -- hanging items can go on hooks by the door out in the open. The bathroom is spacious enough, with a broad sink and elegant tilework. The lighting fixtures throughout are nifty. I found the breakfast sort of average for this type of place. I came later on, so perhaps there is more earlier, but there were a few pastries, some hard-boiled eggs, and fruit when I arrived. There's also a fancy coffee-drink contraption, but those aren't my thing so I left that alone. It's a very easy walk across the Boylan Bridge and down a couple of blocks to the area of the Dillon with several restaurants, and the performing arts center is not far beyond that. Location-wise, there's plenty that's walkable but also more an easy drive away.

Paid the higher rate and got the breakfast package and absoluelty not impressed witht he food here. I enjoyed comfy beds, good water pressure and hot water (11th Floor), and great views of the city. Did run into a snarky reception when asked for a bottle of water. Told me she would make an exception but vending machines were on every floor. I told her she could bill it to the room but she made some note on my account, asked what room I was in and said it was a courtesy this time. I feel like delivery of the conversation could have been better. Meanwhile another rep offered my coworkers a free bottle the next day after we came in from lunch. I didn't even engage. Aside from that experience, I personally would not select that breakfast included add on offer in the future but did like how you can choose from anything on the menu and were not limited. I would stay here again and looks like a much better option than the Sheraton Nextdoor. Overall service was ok, house keeping was great and left little thank you notes, and the rooms were modern. While there have been outstanding hotels, this one, The Residence Inn by Marriott Downtown Raleigh, NC, tops them! From the first moment we walked in the lobby and were greeted warmly, to check out when they acted like they were so happy we'd stayed there..everyone was friendly, kind, and so helpful! The lobby is decorated so nicely! The chandeliers are cool! Each one throughout the hotel is different. We found them in hallways, the restaurant, the lobby, near the elevators..everywhere! Just a cool, chic place! We had breakfast in the Overlook restaurant in the hotel each morning of our stay. Each morning was an all you can eat, buffet style, amazing spread! There were scrambled eggs each morning (we were there for three mornings), but different meats, different types of potatoes, grits, oatmeal, cold cereals, fruits, yogurts, an array of breads, juices, a coffee bar with tea and hot chocolate as well, and soooooo many toppings and spreads to go on anything you want. Our room was very nice, very clean, and the shower is huge! The staff was attentive, both in the restaurant and the hotel as a whole. Our tv went out twice, and both times when we called the front desk, they apologized and sent a tech up to help us. The housekeepers checked in to make sure we had whatever ever we needed; and everywhere we turned there was friendliness. Our hotel was directly across the street from the Martin Marietta theater where we had tickets for a show. So, after a yummy dinner in the Overlook restaurant, we strolled across the street and enjoy an evening with Henry Cho! We walked around downtown, enjoyed a weekend away from home, and felt very safe and secure. We will definitely be back, Residence Inn!
