After attempting to eat a steak dinner at a top notch steak house during the holidays last year it was time to get some help. With about 15 teeth left in my mouth and years of smoking, bad dental hygiene followed by a terrible battle with Covid it was time to get a grip on my life before I choked to death. I watched many videos on the implant procedures available and decided to face the embarrassment and seek help. The first company provided a free consultation, took x-rays and said my A1C was too high for surgery. I worked on it with my doctors, got it under control in 3 months, called them back 3 times and never got a return call. With that said, it brings me to the love of my life, "FOUR EVER SMILE" of Hauppauge. I called this friendly company, joked with them that I hoped they had their A team available for my consultation, and boy they were great! Upon my arrival to this friendly, very clean facility, you felt the warmth when you walked in the front door, the gentle care as they took x-rays with really a mouth of gums. Then I met with Doctor Prudenti & Gabrielle the surgical coordinator who took me through the process, costs & financing. After that I got the care package, the paperwork and set a date for surgery. After receiving all clearances from the doctors and anesthesiologist, the date was set. At 7a.m. on March 11, the day of surgery, knowing I was petrified as after 60+ years I never had been under anesthesia, I was greeted by the surgical nurse Heather who walked me through the process, and I went in for surgery. They asked me 2 questions and I was out cold waking around noon in recovery with a mouth full of teeth, a little pain, but it was worth every penny and time spent returning to the office. The night of surgery I received a courtesy call from the surgical nurse Heather asking how I was feeling and checking to make sure that my wife had picked up the pain medication and I was using them. I returned to this very caring and professional office several times for adjustments, x-rays and cleanings until receiving my permanent teeth on September 16, 2024. I can't believe what I am able to eat, chew & taste. It has opened my world again! In closing, it's not cheap but as a first responder who has seen choking victims including my own daughter, the price you pay now could save your life. Thank you to the entire staff for your compassion and care. I'll see you in April for my 1st cleaning! James A. Citroen II read more
