We showed up a few moments early and called to let them know we were outside. They sent out a person to take our temperatures from our car and ask us questions. He said they would call us when they were ready for us. A few moments later the called us to go in. Once we entered they asked us to use the purely from their stand up dispenser, which of course we did. My husaband and I, dawning our masks waited a few moments. We were greeted by the doctor who told us they were cleaning the room. Now they clean the room with these ghost buster looking back packs. Very exceptional in my opinion. We were called back by the lovely assistant. My husband sat in the chair with my daughter in his lap. Soon Doctor Mackey came in and suited up. She was already wearing a mask and eye protection. She suited up in a new full body smock. She put her gloves on and greeted our baby. She was so wonderful with her. Taking her time to familiarize her with her gloves, letting her play with her hands and showing her some instruments. She got a few peaks into her mouth and from what she saw all was good. She provided me with great advice on how to get her used to teeth brushing (ok bad mom here, I've been using a wash cloth in the bath to try and wash her teeth). She recommended a toothpaste and then gave us a baby brush. She was so friendly and good with Veronica. I really can't recommend this practice enough. I have been before and their cleanings are so thorough! Dr. Mackey was able to spot an infection in my tooth and send me for a root canal. This infection has been there for years and other dentists had missed it. I'd spent countless money and time going to sinus specialists and migraine doctors. Since the root canal I haven't had a migraine or nearly as bad sinus issues. Can you imagine?! This practice doesn't take DMO which my employment offered for free. I upgraded my dental plan at work and pay $70 a month for my daughter and I to have the proper coverage to see this practice. It is absolutely worth it. Also if you don't have insurance they offer private plans as well. If you've had a bad experience at a dentist, you know how important a good dentist is. Dr. Mackey and staff are fantastic dentists. I went in to have the female short haired blond dentist check a crown that has been feeling sensitive when I bite down on it. I was seated in a room quickly but then had to wait forever until she finally came in the room. I told her what I was there for she and said I needed new X-rays, so they did that and I was sitting there waiting again. Finally she came back and just started filing down my crown to adjust it. I literally pushed their hands away because I was in pain and had tears rolling down my face. She then asked if I wanted her to numb it, which I thought would've been obvious from the beginning, I said yes so she gave me that and I had to wait 10 minutes for it to take effect. 10 minutes passed and I had to ask how much longer she would be. I was told she was coming. She didn't come for another 10 minutes. When she finally walked by and heard me asking again when she was coming. She stood at the door and said "what's the problem?" That set me off and I complained about her having me wait so long and just walking back and forth and I asked her why she didn't numb me in the first place knowing my tooth was hurting and she said that it wasn't obvious to her that she would have to. The dental assistant also chimed in to say that she wasn't just walking around. I visited the office for a routine cleaning in October 2024, during which the dentist recommended fillings for two teeth. Although I've been skeptical about the necessity of some past recommendations, I trusted the dentist's expertise and scheduled the procedure. Before the appointment, I requested a pretreatment estimate to understand my out-of-pocket costs. When I reviewed the estimate, I noticed it was classified as an out-of-network claim, even though the office is in-network. I immediately contacted the office, and they assured me they would correct the issue. On December 10, 2024, I had the fillings done. When it came time to pay, the amount presented to me was significantly higher than I expected. After I questioned it, the staff realized they hadn't fixed the out-of-network classification. They recalculated the payment on the spot, and I paid the corrected amount without issue. Weeks later, on December 27, I received a call from the office stating I owed a balance of $22.11 because my insurance deductible hadn't been met for the year. While I felt this should have been accounted for in the pretreatment estimate, I reviewed the claim and confirmed the charge was accurate. I called the office back promptly and expressed my willingness to pay. However, I was uncomfortable providing my credit card information over the phone, given previous bad experiences. I asked about alternative payment methods, such as mailing a check, paying online, or handling it during my next visit. The staff assured me that paying later would be fine. On January 9, 2025, I received another call from Christy, the office manager. Her tone was immediately accusatory, implying I had failed to follow up or take responsibility for the payment. I explained that I had already confirmed the charge with my insurance and had been told it was fine to pay later. When I asked where to send a check, she abruptly ended the call without providing the necessary information, before I even had the chance to ask who the check should be addressed to. Then, on January 16, I received a voicemail from Christy, stating that if I didn't pay the $22.11 by the end of the day, the balance would be sent to collections. I was shocked that such an aggressive approach was being taken for such a small amount, especially when I had already attempted to resolve the issue. Frustrated, I rushed to the office to pay the balance in person. During this visit, I tried to explain my concerns about how the situation had been handled, but Christy dismissed my points, continued to accuse me of not wanting to pay, and spoke to me in an unprofessional and condescending manner. When I pointed out that she hadn't provided clear instructions for mailing a check, she sarcastically responded, "You know where our office is, right?" This level of disrespect was infuriating. In the end, I paid the $22.11 and canceled all future appointments. While I still respect the dentist's care and professionalism, I can no longer remain a patient at this practice due to how I was treated by the office manager. This experience has shown me that even excellent medical care can be overshadowed by poor communication and unprofessional behavior from office staff. One cavity was so deep that a crown needed to be put in. To save a whole shpiel, Dr. Bral filled in all the cavities like it was nothing, and the crown he put in was perfect -- indistinguishable from the other teeth.
