Wow! What a special experience it is to attend a yoga class at Radiance Yoga…read more Even though this is a large studio with serious yogis, you won't experience the snobbiness and exclusivity that often comes with yoga studios today. Everyone, from staff to students is friendly and welcomings, which makes for a happy and welcoming atmosphere. The tea station and large round table is such a nice touch and really feeds the community atmosphere at the studio. I wish more yoga studios were like this. I took the Kundalini Yoga class with Sat Katar Singh. He's amazing. He is calm and wise with a playful sense of humor, which creates a nice energy in the class. I'll definitely return when I am back in town and I look forward to experiencing the wide range of classes and teachers that the studio offers.

I have been out of practice for a bit so this was a nice re-entry point. While the music and instruction and very quiet setting were different from my preferred yoga style, I will say that Angelina was a good teacher. The sequencing of the flow was great and I felt very challenged. I also appreciated how engaged she was with each student in different ways and the hands-on assistance she provided. I've been doing yoga for a while but there are still postures I'm confident aren't exactly right. She helped me correct a few and I was very grateful. She also recognized my flexibility and gave me additional adjustments/gentle pushes to get deeper into some postures. I also appreciated Mo at the front desk who was very nice and welcoming. Sometimes, when I come to smaller studios where everyone knows each other, I feel out of place but that wasn't the case here. Thanks, Radiance!

I have tried a couple of online classes in the past and didn't like them. Then I found this place, which happens to be near where I live, although everything is taught on Zoom right now. I did the early morning class with Ron, and it felt close to being in a real in-person class. He called each student by name, he knew that I was new and checked in with me about whether I knew certain positions. I need to set up my home space better, but I am motivated to do it so I can do another class this weekend. I think this will tide me over through COVID-19 restrictions, and then I will also try their in-person classes!

Despite having zero experience with yoga, I felt comfortable in the class, and the teacher was a young woman who was very casual and friendly. Yoga begins with a short guided meditation to prepare your body. The classroom has various pillows, props, and mats for people who don't have their own, or need a little help due to limited flexibility or mobility (e.g., arthritis). I was not given any kind of sales pitch or anything like that, either when I signed up or during class. The vibe of this place reminded me a bit of the zen center in San Francisco - very family-like, not in a weird or cult way, just a real sense of community there. If you're looking for guided meditation, classic yoga, and a supportive environment where you can learn to relax your mind and body, no matter you age or physical situation, I recommend YIDL.
