She also made it on the opposite side of the bar so I actually wonder if it was just root beer. The bartender was only interested in talking to her group of friends and not checking on anyone in the bar for refills or to see if they wanted their check to leave. Then when I finally spoke up so we could get out of here she asked my friend oh did I do something to piss her off. Like yes, do your job better! That's what you're there for. She was also flirty w the guy I was with. Uncomfortable! Won't be back

The view is spectacular. The beer selection matches the name. And there is representation from my favorite brewery, Weihenstephaner. The decor is rustic and fun. At first I wanted to say the food is the downside. But really, the lack of food is the downside. The fries we had with their special seasoning (is it Lawrys?) was okay, but reminded me of oven cooked frozen fries. I wish there was good German good, well, anywhere in Alaska. Service was great! Alaskana Social Club is truly a hidden gem. If you know, you know…read more The food is some of the freshest you'll find--thoughtfully made right here in Alaska. Their salads are always crisp and vibrant, and the revolving menu keeps things exciting while still feeling intentional and local. You can tell real care goes into every plate. The space itself is absolutely beautiful with an upscale, cozy feel that makes you want to linger. The staff is incredibly friendly and welcoming, which just adds to the whole experience. And a big shoutout to the drinks--so good, even for us sober girls. Most of their cocktails can be made non-alcoholic, and they're just as delicious and thoughtfully crafted. This is one of those places you bring friends to when you want to impress them, but also somewhere you'll keep coming back to yourself. Fresh food, local heart, stunning atmosphere--10/10. Would absolutely recommend.

They have a large choice of food items and they serve breakfast all day. We ordered corn fritters w honey butter to try. They were amazing! I had two and could have eaten more but my dinner hadn't come out yet. I ordered the Halibut fish & chips. I was impressed how tasty they were. Perfectly fried and seasoned well. The tartar sauce was good. The cole slaw was okay so I tried the potato salad which was better. Overall great meal! Since we had a large party, they ran out of desserts before I had a chance to order. The 17 kids in the group were able to get order desserts, the adults did not. No worries. The trip was for the kids.

But so many options makes the possibilities feel almost endless. The bacon is crispy. If you like your bacon chewy, maybe ask for it that way. I like mine crispy and it's been that way EVERY SINGLE TIME. YAY! - - THE DOWNSIDE The decaf coffee is not great. I've had it three times and I think it's instant coffee, maybe? Whatever it is, it's bad. In a state with so much great coffee, this seems like a point that shouldn't be bad. Sigh* The over medium eggs are really over easy. This is a bummer. The diner of Alaska that can make me true over medium eggs will forever earn my patronage. - - Conclusion It's okay the coffee is bad, because they had a porter on tap which was almost like drinking an iced coffee. At least that's what I'm going with. =]
