Definitely a locals place although the people next to us were from Florida and visiting some friends. There is a hilarious Google review that somebody wrote that the place smells like a locker room and cigarettes and all this other gross stuff. And it's not true. Just happened to go on a super busy day that was also understaffed. Recommend it, maybe if the parking lot is full, check it out on a different day.

It's located quite a ways down in the knik area, if you are not looking for it..you might miss it. The outside doesn't quite give you that welcoming vibe but thanks to fb..figured we suck it up and try it. They always promote these amazing food specials and the pictures are drool worthy..so yeah it piqued my curiosity. The interior is definitely surprising. It's nice, humble, warm, and yeah..welcoming. The staff is very pleasant and greets you immediately upon entering. This place has a full bar..so drinks helps ease that uncertainty for sure. The food..the food is delicious! We ordered the ribs special and it comes with all the fixings (roll, mashed potatoes and gravy, baked beans) and it's a lot of food for a great price. They also have a slow smoked prime rib special offered that night as well (Saturday). The food is seriously fire..best smoked ribs I have had since living in Texas. It's definitely worth stopping in for the food. The drinks are good and strong! Perfect! We will definitely be back and I highly recommend if you are looking for good BBQ and yummy classic take on American dining.

They have a large choice of food items and they serve breakfast all day. We ordered corn fritters w honey butter to try. They were amazing! I had two and could have eaten more but my dinner hadn't come out yet. I ordered the Halibut fish & chips. I was impressed how tasty they were. Perfectly fried and seasoned well. The tartar sauce was good. The cole slaw was okay so I tried the potato salad which was better. Overall great meal! Since we had a large party, they ran out of desserts before I had a chance to order. The 17 kids in the group were able to get order desserts, the adults did not. No worries. The trip was for the kids.

But so many options makes the possibilities feel almost endless. The bacon is crispy. If you like your bacon chewy, maybe ask for it that way. I like mine crispy and it's been that way EVERY SINGLE TIME. YAY! - - THE DOWNSIDE The decaf coffee is not great. I've had it three times and I think it's instant coffee, maybe? Whatever it is, it's bad. In a state with so much great coffee, this seems like a point that shouldn't be bad. Sigh* The over medium eggs are really over easy. This is a bummer. The diner of Alaska that can make me true over medium eggs will forever earn my patronage. - - Conclusion It's okay the coffee is bad, because they had a porter on tap which was almost like drinking an iced coffee.
