The people here are literally out to get your money, I had a mustang that got a lil bend in the…read morestrut and I had driven 80km to reach this place, only to be told that the car won't go even for 1 more kilometer!!! This is just the tip of the iceberg, the dude in the front said that, there's problems with the front axle, steering beads and ALL OF IT WAS BS. He demanded and almost forced me to keep the car with these sick people for another week and charge me 2000$, and I'm stranded at around 220km from Edmonton. I swear if I had the time, I would file a lawsuit against these people because they quoted me with false problems that never existed ON PAPER. Not only did I drive another 400kms with it with almost no problems at all except for a small noise every time the strut rides the rim but more importantly turns out that it only cost me around 200$ to fix everything, which is 10X cheaper, so in a nutshell good job Kal tires, you've won the award for the worst auto store ever.

I had a slow leak on my 2015 GMC Sierra. Kal Tire (St Paul), said they could fix it pretty quick so…read moreI went there. They said there was a small nail in the tire and that they had put a patch on it. I went to use my truck the next day, and the tire was flat again. I called Kal Tire to let them know about it but they closed at 1:00 pm, so I left a detailed message with my phone number. On Sunday we headed back home to Edmonton. I waited all day Monday for a call back but never got one. On Tuesday Sept 13, I took it into OK Tire North (12847 58 St NW) and I was told that Kal Tire had buffed the tire down too deep and the steel belts inside were visible and that the patch would not stick and that the tire was ruined. They lent me a tire that had approximately the same tread depth but a different brand just so I could make arrangements to get it replaced. I called KAL Tire back and told them what had happened. The lady took my number and said she would have someone call me. I received a call a short while later. The guy said, "Hi this is Terry". I asked him who he was in the company as I wanted to make sure I was speaking to the right person. He answered, ``I am the guy that will decide how we handle this, I am the owner." I thought it was kind of a rude way to reply. I explained the situation to him and he said he needed pictures of the tire and I said if he texted me I would send him pictures as I wasn't near a pen to write down his number he said he would text me and hung up. No "good bye" or anything. I thought that was extremely rude and set the tone with who I was dealing with. I sent the the pictures at 3:16pm and received no response from him. I texted back the next morning at 9:48 after checking with the Albany Kal Tire location. I informed him that they said because my tires were 7/32 I would need at least two tires and that they could get the tires and have them installed right away. He said I could go to whichever Kal tire I wanted to but that he would only pay for one tire and that I would have to pay for the other. I then mentioned to him that I would now have to spend another $370 due to their screw up. He told me he would cover the two repair bills but that he certainly would not cover the second tire as his staff never touched it. He said he was doing me a favor by paying for the whole tire as it should be prorated. In the meantime, I went back to Albany Kal tire to get my ties ordered. I dealt with Barb there, who to this point has been awesome. She came out to look at my tires and realized it was a 4x4 and said that I need 4 tires as it is 4x4. I called the Kal Tire head office 1-800-663-9350 number and spoke with a lady who took my info and was going to pass it along to the District Manager (Andrew) for the area. I received a call from Andrew, the Area District Manager. When I told him that I was told I should change all four tires due to it being a 4x4 and the tire tread difference, he said he had never heard of that. He asked where I heard that and I told him I had called ten different Kal Tire locations as well as two competitors and they all said that. Any more than 3/32's difference can cause damage to the vehicle. He told me that I could get away with replacing the one tire but that I should change two. I argued the fact that I should not have to pay for the second tire either as it wasn't my fault they screwed up. He tried to say the affiliate(St Paul) only wanted to pay for one. I pointed out that I didn't care if they were an affiliate or not. I am dealing with Kal tire. At that point he started saying that he would get the Edmonton location to order two tires. He said he would try to get a hold of the Albany store Manager. I still had not heard back from Andrew so I called him on Monday Sept 19 at 3:45. He did arrange to have two tires installed at his cost but again refused to pay for all four. So a simple flat repair ended up costing me $670.00 because of Kal Tires negligence and poor customer service.
