I went to Dr. Foulk about 5 years ago (when I changed jobs and insurance companies) and I was astounded by his practices. Sure, he has all the fancy gadgets in his office (you'll see why later) that initially impress you, including a video camera (so you can see as he works in your mouth) and every new patient gets an impression (mold) made of their mouth that you can take home. Not really sure why this would be necessary???
Despite having gone to the dentist religiously (every 6 months) all my adult life and having only had 2 cavities in my 30 years, after my first and only visit to Dr. Foulk, he proceeded to tell me that I had 14 cavities that needed to be filled and provided me with a recommended treatment plan (which, BTW concludes with a celebratory bottle of champagne when you've completed his recommended treatment plan...strange).
I was so astounded by his findings that I took the fancy, color coded print out that outlined exactly where my "cavities" were and got myself a 2nd opinion. Not only could the second dentist not find a single cavity, when I finally showed the second dentist Dr. Foulk's fancy print out, they double checked every single tooth and couldn't find any decay. Needless to say, I never went back to Dr. Foulk again, and happy to report that I have wonderful dentist that I enjoy thoroughly, Dr. Hilda Kanon, DDS.
I think Dr. Foulk is a fraud and I reported him to the insurance company. Unfortunately, the insurance company chalked it up to "a difference of opinion", which in my opinion is unfortunate, as 14 versus none isn't a difference of opinion, it's fraud. It is dentists like Dr. Foulk who we have to thank for insurance rates going up and people undergoing unnecessary work.
I recommend taking your business elsewhere....there are definitely better dentists out there. read more
