I had an appointment this morning and it was cancelled. No one called me to tell me. I called the office staff and was transferred (because I had to call twice) to voicemails (including the office manager's voicemail). I'll be interested to see if she returns my call. I was told by the office staff that I was contacted several times by his supervisor in an effort to cancel my appointment. This is an outright lie. I have their number on my phone, and nobody called me. In addition, I received my check-in online yesterday morning (Sunday), so truly nobody called me. I am seriously considering changing doctors, only for this reason. I really like Dr.Gage and would like to keep him as my cardiologist, but this is getting unreasonable and stressing me out for no reason. To make matters worse, I have called his medical assistant several times. When I have been able to get through, the assistant has been very nice. Unfortunately, when no one is available, no one answers and there is no voicemail. This is inappropriate for a cardiologist's office. At the very least, there should be a voicemail set up.

While it took a while for him to get to me (expected when you get a same day appointment with a big clinic), once I got in to see him, he was fantastic. He was friendly, took the time to talk to me about what might have caused my injury and, because of his friendly and careful questioning, I realized the cause might have been something totally different than I had anticipated. He gave me a range of solutions and helped me pick the most appropriate one for me. Then he took some time to help me understand the best exercises I could do on my own to rehab and at what point I should come back in if it's not getting better. Overall, there was the expected delay in getting to me with an end-of-day, same-day appointment, but it was well well worth the wait.

She has a friendly demeanor and I felt comfortable talking to her my medical history and such. The good doc addressed several ongoing issues (namely, allergies, OF COURSE) with a course of action including 1- over-the-counter drugs, 2- a prescription, and if all else failed 3- a referral to an allergist. I feel like I'm in good hands! Also, points for Dr. Stround's very personable staff and pleasant office setting. Availability is the one area that isn't tops; I had to wait three weeks to see her. I have been a patient of Dr. Stephens for 15 years, and have referred countless people to him,…read morebecause there was a time he was a really good doctor. But over the last few years he has made many changes to his practice, all which keep raising how much it costs to be his patient. Now he wants you to pay $1800 a year, UPFRONT, just for the privilege of being one of his patients, meanwhile the quality of care had just kept plummeting. Nevermind that insurance doesn't cover that, or any of your other costs per visit etc. He says this is to allow him to focus on more patients, but what it means is it will allow him to focus on RICH PATIENTS. Because the rest of us that can't afford that are just fucked, and now after all this time building this doctor-patient relationship, we're on our own having to go find someone else. I guess I should have never referred anyone to him, and maybe he wouldn't have gotten such a big head. I'll know next time - if I have a good doctor, I'll keep that info to myself.
