I really am so very happy I had Foster Realty take care of managing my rentals. At first, I stubbornly managed my rentals on my own. But as anyone who owns a rental property knows, it can be very difficult, frustrating and time-consuming. And it is not an activity where you can go off and have a restful vacation, as something usually goes wrong and needs attention. When it got to the point where I felt like the properties owned me, and not the other way around, Foster Realty brought sanity back to my life. Their staff is so professional and timely and they truly have big hearts. I love the ladies at Foster Realty, "they are the best!" They really look out for you and your interests and they are so on top of things. They are truly a property management gem. I only wish I had started sooner. I highly recommend them to help give some life back to your life if you're juggling a rental property. It is well worth it! read more

I don't ordinarily take the time to give a bad review unless the situation really warrants being told. I have a 45-year career as a real estate broker and financial analyst. I recently contacted Foster Realty of Waianae, Oahu regarding a beach rental which they had listed. I dealt primarily with Aileen L. Acosta, V.P. principal broker for Foster Realty. After an excruciating 2-week fiasco, I found it impossible to overcome the bad communication, lack of focus and poor judgement at Foster Realty and finally disengaged & went elsewhere. read more

Foster Realty - Closing Day!!! - Real Estate Services Near Me - Waianae, Hawaii

Zero communication! They find every petty excuse to not let you rent from them. Claims that my application was inaccurate and incomplete. My birthday was off due to the fact that I did the application on my phone so it was just a typo. That could've been resolved with simple communication. Also said they emailed me and that my email was invalid but it wasn't invalid when they took my $50 for the app fee... also denied for no renters history. The fact is people have a time frame to move and there own personal reasons to move. It's really stressful and when these reality companies just don't have any common courtesy to communicate really pisses me off. I know it's cliché but I really feel it's a scam to take as much application fees possible. There not looking for decent people to rent too. There looking for millionaires to rent there Maile 3 bedroom shit hole where people getting shot every other week! read more

Foster Realty manages two properties for me on the West Side. I have always been pleased with their services. They have found excellent tenants for me and have always kept up the maintenance at a reasonable cost. Just last week I needed to replace two appliances in one condo. Cheryl spent a great deal of time finding the best deal for me. Other managers might have just gone for convenience, and this effort is an indicator of the type of service you will receive from them. She definitely goes above and beyond to get the job done. read more

Foster realty got some nice properties for rent. They have units that accept section 8 But, YOU NEED TO HAVE GREAT CREDIT. They won't accept you due to poor or fair credit! They denied me 2x for having FAIR credit (607). They pretty much do this knowing a lot of people probably have poor to fair credit and they take your money for the application fee. Or course other things could come in to play for them not accepting your application but, majority is due to credit. This second time around made me realize Foster realty IS NOT equal housing opportunity. Really wish I could get my money back, such a waste. read more

Shazlynn Simer from Foster Realty is one the best and most patient realtor that I've ever worked with recently in purchasing my condo. Shazlynn was very highly motivated to make sure that my needs were fully addressed in purchasing my next rental property. I am in sales also and a very aggressive real estate rental property buyer. Shazlynn went above and beyond to get all the answers to my questions within 24 hours or less. She paid particular attention to my detailed criteria on the properties that I wanted to look at and didn't waste my time with any nonsense. She's smart, energetic and very responsive to my many emails and texts that I sent. She always kept me in the loop on my quest to find a property that met my needs. We finally found a condo that was listed for only 2 days and they had multiple offers. She was able to aggressively negotiate and we closed on this property within two weeks on a cash purchase. Thank you Shazlynn Simer for your hard work and Foster Realty for making this wonderful experience a seamless transaction. If you're looking for an efficient and a no nonsense real estate company, I highly recommend Shazlynn Simer and Foster Realty. read more

These people are top notch! They treated us like family from the very beginning. My family was moving from the mainland to Oahu, and this is not an easy thing to do if you are not actually on the island. These guys at Foster Realty made it so comfortable and easy, with no stress! I can not rave enough about them. Now I have a beautiful unit on the beach with gorgeous views, in a quiet, well maintained, "smoke free" building. I couldn't be any happier. Foster Realty - Real Estate Services Near Me - Waianae, Hawaii

Terrible. Scammers I have called action line to see what I can do about these guys. I feel like they just take my application money and bamboozled me. Firstly my family and I recently looked at one of their beautiful property that recently went up for rental in Maili. Upon looking at the yard we seen specifically a dog kennel slab amongst dog toys in the yard and was told dogs were ok. We put in an application over the weekend and we needed to follow up on our own as we were excited. I was told each adult living in would need to apply which was fine but on my application I made it obvious my partner was the income maker and credit earner. Why would they run my application first if my application was turned in LAST AND turned in WITHOUT supporting documents like my partner?! A full 4 days later ? Even more they can't get their shit together they asked if we had a pitbull which was stated on the application along with Chihuahuas, they then said pitbulls are not OK but Chihuahuas are OK, puts me on hold only to come back on a minute later and tells me " sorry no pets at all at any of our properties" !? They need to get their shit together excuse my language but I'm not sorry. I feel taken advantage of. If they were just juicing the applications to get more money and they had already found a suitable tenant they should've left well enough alone! I could have used that $20 to apply for a better home at a better realty company! ---- read more

Waianae Foster Realty is a place to go if you are renting, selling or buying. I want to thank Leslie for taking the time in viewing the place and waiting on my husband's & daughter's & pet application. She was so patience & understanding when I told her that I didn't need to move after all, that the owner changed her mind just recently. And I felt bad for keeping Leslie waiting. But she wished me well and to have a great day. Mahalo Nui Loa Leslie for everything. Have a great week. read more

If you are retired on a fixed income dont bother with them - was told over the phone when I called for a property showing that they will not consider savings as a source from which you can pay rent - even if you can afford pay the whole year rent in advance they require you to have income from a job at least 3x rental amount! Why does someone need to show a job income if already have plenty money in the bank? That's crazy and discrimination against retired people! Also, you have to apply first and pay $20 before you can even get a showing to see a rental property. But since they won't qualify a retired person you are just losing your $20. Read through their other 1 star reviews and you get the idea about them. read more

Not very helpful. Called about one rental, was told to call another number and never heard back. Stopped by the office on a Saturday, closed with no hours posted. Saw a second rental. Agent was late and seemed uninterested. Unit was shabby. Questions were answered vaguely. Would rather buy, but rent or buy, prefer another agency for either. read more

So the woman in charge gives me a call awhile after I moved into my new home, leaving the home I rented from foster realty. She apologized for all of the mishaps from while I was a tenant. She was very kind and sounded very sincere on the phone. Saying that her businesses communication skills would be worked on and improved so that something like this would never happen again. Which I appreciate. Although what's done is done and cannot be fixed it was nice to not get a fake apology. She also sent my family a $50 gift card that was much appreciated. I hope that through it all they get their stuff together so no one else endures what my family and I had to go through. read more

I just bought a second home in Waianae, HI. I am soo excited about it - I stayed in San Diego during the process and I used George Churchill from Foster Realty as my agent for everything - and I mean EVERYTHING during the sale. He drove my manfriend, his mom and the aunties around (80-90+ y/o ladies) to look at properties and was very accomodating. He sent me listings, promptly responded to emails, and either answered his phone or called me back (3 hours difference so I tried not to call him before 10am San Diego time - hehe) and arranged or referred someone for all the services needed to close the deal (property inspection, appraisal, HO-6 policy, etc.) I tend to get easily stressed out when it comes to a big purchase and George took care of whatever the issue or my confusion was, and followed up with me when it was resolved. He even paid for the mobile notary service ($225 or so for out of island service - OUCH!) to sign escrow papers and has now hooked me up with a painter to get the place painted, including picking up the paint at the Home Depot for me. I've never had any other agent do all that. Both he and his wife are from the mainland so he deals with us crazy mainlanders a lot. I will also be using Foster Realty as my property management co. Mahalo George! read more

Foster Realty manages my condo in Makaha. So unfair how this company does things! When I moved in, I got charged for a whole month despite moving in on the 15th of the month, which I let go. The 2nd day since move in the drywall in the garage was damaged due to leaking. I ended up fixing it myself, hoping that they would knock off a part of the rent but no! The whole garage was flooded and a bunch of my things were water damaged, I let it go. They said that the leaking was fixed, which apparently it wasn't. (One of my water bill's was $700) I went somewhere for a day, came back and the the roof in the garage was down again! Then Foster tried to charge me for the damage saying I was at fault because I was supposed to say something when I leave the residence. Please! Not for a day. I had to finish painting the drywall myself because the shady worker that they sent wasn't able to finish the job because he expected us to work around his schedule. An d I got charged! Then out of the blues Foster was like "the house on the market". Within a couple weeks I got a letter that I had 45 days to move out. I took a whole month cleaning, moving around the things that were in the house. (the house was furnished) I rented a pressure washer and all to clean and I replaced all the screens even though that the screens already had holes when I moved in. Yet, they took my whole deposit! Unreal! I paid them $300 the day I turned in my keys too because of the drywall repair in my garage which wasn't even my fault! But whatever! What goes around definitely comes around... I asked Sylvia why she took my deposit and she said the house was left filthy (lies, lies, lies) I ended up taking Foster to court to get back my deposit which caused me time away from work, court fees, and stress because now I was without a house! I was without a house for a couple of months because they took my whole deposit!!! I was relying on my deposit to use as a down payment deposit for another house. That's why my wife and I cleaned extra and beyond. If I knew my deposit was going to be with held, I wouldn't have cleaned at all!!!! Even during court, they tried to present pictures of nothing! Lies again, oh wait they showed the judge a picture of "hair in the draw" and "dust on the fan" hahaha so funny! I bought 4 boxes of swiffer duster refills just to clean those things and got an asthma attack because of my allergies to dust. But I guess the cleaning wasn't enough for them. And they said they had to charge me for hauling. I don't know what they hauled, as the house came furnished. I even left my brand new microwave, coffee maker, and rice pot because the house's one broke which they said they would contact me and to leave my appliances there. I never got that returned to me...The house was sold for goodness sake! Instead of calling the house dirty, they should've called their company dirty! Btw, I won my deposit back in court! No hard feelings at all, just the complete truth! read more

I've had the wonderful opportunity of meeting Mr. George Churchill, George showed me a number of units in the complex I was looking at. I was purchasing the unit furnished, George took the time to do a complete inventory of the unit which from a clients prospective was greatly appreciated being back home on the mainland during my purchase process, I felt very confident George had all the bases covered as he was very proficient at answering all my questions as they arose and provided me the confidence that I was in good hands. George displays a very high level of integrity and was very persistent at assuring my best interests were being handled appropriately, George displayed very keen negotiating skill assisting me in obtaining the best deal possible. I feel that George was more than a Realtor and more like a friend who had my best interests at heart which is greatly appreciated. We moved from Maryland to Oahu in February of 2013, we only had 10 days to find a home here on a house hunting trip. A friend recommended Foster Reality to us and we called that first day (actually it was late evening), you can imagine the stress we were under! Jayne Peterson returned our call within minutes and by the next morning we had multiple listings to view. We did not know the area well or the neighborhoods, Jayne was so patient, she drove us around endlessly, knew all of the areas very well and all of her recommendations were spot on. We decided to purchase a new construction in Makaha and returned to Maryland. Jayne visited the construction site very often sending us pictures and suggestions every step of the way. She handled everything efficiently and professionally. When we found that our house would not be ready on time Jayne helped us find the perfect short term rental. When we finally moved here Jayne met us with our key, we followed her to the rental, and she made sure we were happy and comfortable. A gift basket with all the essentials we would need for our first night!! I could go on and on. Foster Reality and Jayne Peterson made our home purchase, from 5,000 miles away, a wonderful experience. At closing she went over everything, found a mistake that the seller had made and saved us $$ (gotta love that!!). I will definitely be using them for our next sale or purchase. read more
