The dentist is very knowledgeable and professional. She has taken the time to educate me and explain procedures. I have been a patient for over 20 years. The staff are very friendly and have great communication and interpersonal skills. They have done the above and beyond to support me with any billing, insurance, and concerns that might arise. They take their time to let me know that I matter as a human being and not just another patient in a chart. They care and remember little details about my children's personalities, growth, and needs to better help them with their treatment. This is a great family-owned dentist's office. I've been coming to this Dentist since June of 2018 they have the best staff everyone is very friendly the front staff always greets me when i walk in. When i got my first tooth ache i called to see if they would be able to take me in that day Cristina the receptionist was very helpful she was able to squeeze me in for an emergency appointment. Had to get a root canal here back a few years ago, I had them make sure my insurance covered most of the procedure which they assured me my insurance did (I believe they said my insurance would cover 80 percent of it). Literally halfway through the procedure the receptionist comes in and says my insurance isn't covering any of it! How convenient while I'm sitting there halfway through the procedure. A little shady if you ask me, I won't come back here. read more

Donald Foster has been my dentist for over 25 years and he's always wonderful to visit because he does wonderful work and has a great sense of humour! I've never had any issues either with work he's done on my teeth nor with his billing (his prices have been fair and in those times when I've been economically on the "down" side, he's worked with me to allow payments at my ability to make them). His support staff is wonderful and friendly too and I highly recommend him! And yes, I come all the way from San Francisco to visit him. read more

This place is like a hidden treasure. The physical building and surrounding environment seems a big sketchy at first glance, but don't judge a book by it's cover. The team are incredibly pleasant people and do a wonderful job. My dental cleaning was quick and efficient and Dr. Foster is a sincere fellow with inspiring stories and amazing bedside manner. I was really hesitant to go to a new dentist, but since I moved from out of state, it was a necessity. I plan to go here for all my future dental check ups. Highly recommended! read more

I had horrible care at the Dr. Foster dental clinic. He has horrible dentists and after my bridge fell off 3 times with much tooth pain, I finally had to find another dentist. First of all every dentist office encounters problems with the mouths and conditions of different people. None of us like dental work and you have to admit it is a pretty small area to get in there and do the work that they do........What is amazing to me by my experience with Donald Foster is he goes beyond the definition of caring. When I was a parent of young boys and there was an immediate problem of a bike accident on a Sunday morning, we called to make and emergency appointment for Monday, got a call back within ten minutes to meet him at the office now......When we had foster children and dentists from Aptos to Santa Cruz wouldn't take them due to low medical reimbursement, Foster gladly did.....one time on a Friday afternoon at 5 ish I had a tooth crack and it was infected....again I called to make an appointment for Monday and he instead insisted I come then and waited by himself and extracted the tooth....I have referred many people who had an emergency and did not have a dentist or insurance and the Donald Foster office saw them within hours. This office does not gouge or recommend unnecessary dental work....what this office does from my experience the last 25 plus years is care and serve the community and take care of people !..........Gordon Blackwell read more

I had been to this office for all of my child hood dental appointments, so figured why not keep coming back. November, 2014 I had a chipped molar. Turns out that I needed a root canal. The root canal procedure itself was fine. For some reason the plan was to do a temporary filling for the first week and then permanent a week later... Well the temporary filling was I guess, overfilled and when I rested my mouth shut it put immense pressure and was really painful, over all worse than the actual root canal since I had to put up with it for a week. I didn't know this during the office visit since I was quite numbed up. I had gotten the permanent filling about a week before thanks giving. The next week while out of state on vacation part of the filling chipped while eating a grilled cheese sandwich... it wasn't that badly toasted either. I didn't get it fixed immediately when I got back in town because I was busy. But when I did call they fixed it at no charge. But on this visit, it wasn't particularly pleasant. Unlike when I had the root canal done, there was no tarp or whatever over my tongue so as my filling was getting drilled out, my tongue was barraged with burnt tooth debris, which as you know is an extremely unpleasant taste and worse, my tongue was cut with the drill. The very next day it chipped again!! At this point I decided to live with it because I didn't want to go back to that office. I hadn't intended to write a review but I was reminded of this incident today because the back half of my molar fell out (well the part that was filled). I will be going somewhere else to have it fixed. read more

Our family member recommended Dr. Foster to us. We just had a first visit and were pleasantly surprised to find an office like no other. It feels like by some magic it is devoid of all the common shortcomings of other offices. Patient-centered, hands-on, down to earth, and noncommercial. You can feel that the focus is not on "state of the art equipment" or some other marketing pitch but just on helping people in need of help. Dr. Foster is experienced, skillful, intelligent, and friendly. Unlike all the other places we tried to contact, he said that he'll treat a hurting tooth first, and will look at all the other teeth later. It was a first time visit, but the wait time was only a week comparing to months in other places. I called the office five or six times before the first visit and not a single time was I put on hold. The front desk is staffed with people who don't just answer the phone, but feel empowered to answer your questions and solve your problems. We will definitely be back. read more
