Forward Dental Madison West's website said that they accepted my dental plan, had off-hours appointments, and had "a dentist on call seven days a week to address emergency dental care".
So when my broken wisdom tooth became too painful to bear, I called them.
I had been a patient there seven years earlier, but had not used their services since then.
I spoke with Phyllis. She refused to give me an appointment.
They weren't booked up, they just refused to help me!
Phyllis said they were not accepting new patients (apparently my visit in 2013 didn't count!), they did not have off-hours appointments, nor did they do emergency care. I told them they needed to update their website, because either it or she was lying!
I can't believe a health care provider would refuse to treat someone in an emergency - especially someone with insurance. It's bad enough that during my last appointment the dentist spent half the time guilt-tripping and shaming me for being too poor to afford regular dental care. I guess if you're not a regular patient who drives a Mercedes, you're not welcome at this dental practice. read more
