Absolutely abysmal...I have waited almost a year to leave this review. This isn't a hack job or a hit piece. This is a legit review. Perhaps at some point I will leave a detailed review. As a person who has been to many firearms classes, is an instructor and a CRSO, this was one of the worst...ever. Literally, my mouth fell open on two occasions and I almost left both times. It was just awful. We were asked to leave comments on cards...our entire group of 14. We did not. There was no fixing it so what was the point? When you call and get the announcement it says "Idaho's Premier/Foremost/Best Training Facility ". That is not true, but it would be even more sad if it was. I cannot emphasize enough...it was such a disappointment and actually pretty sad because it has massive potential. read more

Nothing was organized. From registration through receiving my certificate. It was difficult to talk to someone online or on the phone. The teacher Raul was the most poorly trained instructor I have ever had in any firearms instruction. He was disorganized he seemed confused. We were rushed through the live firearm training. It was very basic training. Far too much of the time was spent hearing about how amazing he is. How much he has done through his life with different police departments. I'm so glad my first review of 2017 gets to be a 5-star rating! When these people say the training you receive here will be unlike any other, they aren't being arrogant. They're being accurate. All the staff here are extensively trained. With their military and law enforcement backgrounds, I expected cocky, condescending dudes like I usually encounter at these types of places (there is something similar in Las Vegas and the guy who runs it is a tool). I was so beyond wrong, and I'm perfectly happy to admit it! Initially I went to a 3-hour freebie home defense class I was tagged in by a friend of mine. The owner, Matt, taught the class. He was very welcoming, super friendly and incredibly knowledgeable. During the simulations in the simulator room (virtual reality), he walked us through each of our scenarios step by step. He let us know what we could have done differently and what we did well; his feedback was neither overly critical or solicitously kind. Just very matter of fact, and not at all judgmental when we made mistakes. When we were done, he showed us pricing for membership. It's INCREDIBLY reasonable. I signed up on the spot. If the rest of his staff was as kind and as awesome as he was, it would be fine. It's also worth it to note there is absolutely no sales pressure, which in itself is a selling point for me! Hard sells piss me off. Matt simply offered us the pricing sheets; I asked a few questions and handed over my credit card. #shutupandtakemymoney I just recently went to an Active Shooter class taught by Dave and Eric and holy cow. When I went home that night, my mind was reeling with everything I didn't know I didn't know. I learned so much - tactically, and about myself - in three short hours. Both Dave and Eric were stellar teachers, again pointing out where we could do things differently and telling us also what we did well. They certainly don't blow smoke and make you feel overconfident, but they are also measured in their criticism and it is always constructive. At the end of that class, I ended up upgrading my membership. The facility is amazing. Aside from the classroom (the war room), they have an entire area for mat workouts (they teach krav maga here as well, but I haven't taken it yet). There is a house with moveable walls so they can reconfigure the layout every time you run a scenario, making it an entirely different experience. There is a staged credit union, a two-story house, a dimly-lit room for their low-light shooting class, and two vehicles in the warehouse for their vehicle defense classes. They also offer one on one training at the George Nourse range. Overall, the place is incredible. You'll be hard pressed to find another facility as bad ass as this willing to teach civilians in addition to law enforcement and military. The instructors are excellent, and the pricing is well within reason. If you are in the area, give this place a try. And come say hi if you see me! read more

I had taken the Enhanced CWC here at FMT and it was amazing. The information that they taught us on our guns, carrying them, the law, safety and our rights, was so much help especially for how times are looking now. I definitely trust our training instructors that taught in the course as well as out in the shooting range. They make you feel safe but also help you along the way. Andrew and Charles are always there to help you and want you to grow in being comfortable with your firearm. The instructors' military or law enforcement background definitely give you a peace of mind but also confirms that what they're saying is real. I definitely will be coming back and highly recommend it for anyone wanting to take a CWC!!! I left with more knowledge about my rights and my firearm that left me more confident and because of that I am forever grateful. read more

I was the very first customer! Matt, the owner, is a stellar guy and worked with me a lot to create a comprehensive course that met all of my needs. The course included a full day of hand to hand combat training with a 4th degree black belt in MMA, training at the range with rifle and handgun, building search with room and stairs clearing, with classroom courses in addition. Every aspect of the training was complete and professional, and I learned an incredible amount in a short period of time. Matt knows the newest techniques adopted by both our elite military forces and SWAT. The facility is large enough to support a wide variety of training, with a mat room, staged house, simulator room etc. The place is easy to get to and there is ample parking. I cannot rave enough about the high standards of the most up-to-date and progressive training I received. I highly recommend this center to anyone who wants to become a law enforcement officer and for anyone currently working in enforcement, security, education, etc, who wants to step up their game to be responsible for the safety of others. read more

Fantastic facility! We completed 2 days of training here in building entry room clearing skills. Facility was well lit and the range of scenarios to run through was countless. The facility has at least two buildings set up. The first being a two story house and the second being a bank. There may have been more building space available but if so I didn't see it. Matt, who I'm 99% sure runs the place, was super friendly when we arrived and made sure we had everything we needed. I'd go back to Forward Movement purely to interact with Matt again. If you get a chance to train at this facility, I HIGHLY recommend it! It may be a little spendy but it is absolutely worth every penny. read more

There are so many options for training and increasing your skills. This course really makes you think. My husband and I have been an FMT member for over 2 years and have trained in multiple scenarios' that have included everything from house clearing to car jacking's. The staff at FMT is phenomenal! All of the staff has either a military or law enforcement background and not only do they know their stuff, they teach at all levels.....beginners, intermediated, advance, Ninja. There is no intimidation with these guys. They have seen it all and they want their students to succeed. When I first became a member of FMT, I threw out everything I learned in my 23 year military career and started with the basics. Yes, I felt very intimidated for quite some time, but that was self-induced. The instructors were so patient and they will go at whatever pace you want them to go. If some of you are intimidated with a male instructor, they do have a female instructor. The best thing about FMT is that they have something for everyone and if you have something different in mind, they are flexible with your training to accommodate your needs. Last but not least, if you still are hesitant about taking classes by yourself, grab a family member or friend and have a great time. Having support is a good thing. Matt traveled to Iowa and to present The Well Armed Woman, UTM Personal Protection Course, Level 1. This is an excellent course to begin the real thought process regarding using a firearm for home or personal defense and what that really means. You don't know what you don't know! Powerful words that this course allows you to begin to put in to thoughts and action. Matt's instruction is invaluable and the ability to convert your actual firearm and use non-lethal, reliable ammunition for drills is outstanding. I took the Enhanced CCW course through FMT and it was honestly a very solid experience. Our instructor Matt was very knowledgeable and willing to answer any questions. The class itself covered the material in a way for a layperson like myself to fully understand as well as potential scenarios and then the range portion put everything into perspective. I looked into a few other CCW classes and this one stood out a bit just based on how they marketed the experience and how helpful they were over the phone when I called to ask about it.
