Considering how everything is as beautiful, plentiful, fresh, and pretty as the photos on the menu, I have absolutely no trouble giving this spot 5 stars.
We were choosing between many sushi restaurants on our last full day in Paris, and Forum Sushi was the one my husband kept coming back to (online-wise), and once we saw it, its well-worn tables, and the fact they were shooting new photos of dishes when we arrived, we were sold!
It was decidedly empty when we got there (we eat at odd times!) but we sat outside and loved having the area to ourselves.
We also had a hilarious view of Paris's famed 'Sanisette Public Toilets.' Why hilarious? Because often people don't know how to use them - so we were privy to many a squeal and yelp as we dined ;)
Also, the white house wine was perfect - not so great you *need* to know what it is, but good enough that you decidedly enjoy it. Perfect for sipping and relaxing as evening falls.
My husband ordered a bento box with gyoza (dumplings, which he enjoyed), a simple roll of avocado and salmon (good), beef and cheese skewers (seemed very Paris to me, and he loved them!) and fresh tuna and salmon sashimi - the salmon being on par with the best we've ever tasted. It was creamy, buttery, and all around melt-in-your-mouth perfect.
I ordered salmon and avocado nigiri (delicious decadence!), eel nigiri (good), a shrimp tempura roll topped again with loads of avocado. This was fantastic as the shrimp inside was enormous, and the avocado plentiful. Also as opposed to another diner, I didn't find this to be too heavy on the rice at all.
I also enjoyed my spicy tuna nigiri and my unagi.
Our waiter was originally from China, and while he also spoke French, he loved practicing his English with us, and as he was a very nice person to chat with, that was fine by me.
All in all awesome food, and a great way to pass an evening!
I would definitely come back here :) read more
