Pony cart trotting down our loop.

Our most recent stay at the Fort Wilderness Campground was less than stellar. From the moment we arrived to the gatehouse the cast member checking us in did not seem to be fully trained. He was so inefficient that he even forgot to give us the key card for the gate and comfort station access. On our second day, the purple bus line which takes us from the outpost bus stop to our campsite loop stopped running and no information was provided. After waiting 30 minutes for the bus to arrive, I called the transportation dispatch who told me to take a different bus. To top it all off, both ice machines in our loop were out of order. This was a very disappointing experience and very unlike our previous experiences with Fort Wilderness.

This is truly one of the bestest resorts I've stayed at on Disney property. The spacing is wonderful, being in the woods is relaxing, and the settings are amazing. My favorite thing about this is the cabins (the old ones, not the new ones!). Plus, the campfire activities are fun too.

I have tent camped at Fort Wilderness for many years, usually is the 1500 loop. This year I got the 2000 loop, which is still great. The walk to the pool takes about 10-15 minutes and it's along a beautiful pathway. The pool is huge and has a fun water slide, plus a kiddie splash area with two cute little slides for the littles. There is a snack bar that serves good quality chicken or turkey sandwiches, among other typical Disney snack offerings. There are pool games and activities that my kids really enjoyed. The 2000 loop is just one stop from the Settlement, where there is a new quick service restaurant that serves pizza and traditional BBQ foods like fried chicken, BBQ ribs, mashed potatoes, and such. They also have some nice breakfast offerings. You can also catch the bus or boat to Magic Kingdom from the Settlement. My only complaints are that the comfort station we were closest to had one of the four toilet stalls out of order the entire 5 days we were here, the showers ran out of hot water by 9pm every night, the sinks either didn't work well (the censer to turn on the tap was wonky) or the water coming out was very hot, and the ice machine located outside the comfort station was out of order(we had to walk to the farther station for ice and carry it all the way back to our site).

Had a day trip here to fort wilderness campground. My boyfriend and I wanted to rent bikes here and check out the property. The bikes were less than $40 for the both of us. We got the day pass I believe. They do not really have bike paths and trails here but sidewalks and you can bike on the road of the campground. It takes about less than 2 hours to ride around and check out everything. We also stopped for a snack. You can also rent canoes or kayaks. We plan on coming back another time for that. The camp grounds look really nice and clean. There are bathrooms everywhere and trash cans. You don't have to haul your trash to a dumpster like other camping sites at state parks. Worth checking out for a day trip and exploring.

My family used to come here all the time when I was younger and loved it. We had been away for several years and finally started coming again last year in our Class A. We enjoy decorating for holidays here and seeing others' decorations as well (it is very intense). We also like taking the boat to Magic Kingdom and visiting the campfire and pool. However, like many other things at Disney, this place has gone downhill. You can't rely on the internal busses at the fort. One night earlier this month we waited over 45 minutes for our bus to pick us up at the settlement and finally we just walked back. Had to do this again later in the week as well when it was apparent nobody was coming. Essentially, you NEED a golf cart if you stay here. When you're walking all day at the parks, you don't want to have to do it here too. We paid to be in a Premium Meadow loop to be closer to the big pool - would not recommend. We learned the hard way that this is a pet friendly loop when a family in a rental RV parked next to us and put their 2 aggressive junkyard dogs outside all day and night. Every time we stepped outside our RV the dogs lunged and growled at us - we were terrified to ever leave. We called security (and waited on hold for an hour since Disney currently routes every single call to any Disney number to a central line) but they didn't seem to do anything. It's also difficult to sleep in this loop due to the proximity to MK - lots of noise from the water parade and multiple fireworks shows late at night. Given that it costs more to stay at the fort than it does most hotels in the area (including some Disney hotels), we probably won't come back again. With Trails End and the Hoop De Doo still closed, poor customer service, and yellow jackets everywhere, it's just not fun anymore.

OMG SO much to say.... 1st time for my hubby to go camping tent style. I have been preparing for this mini vacation for a while now. Beautiful campground and many things to do but sold out and fully booked. Disney Camping is definitely one of a kind, not to mention cast discounts was amazing. So from start to finish. Check in / departing was easy. Bike trails awesome. We did sign up for archery, kayaking, canoe, fishing and the pool time. Lots of fun. Movies under the starts was cute for the kids. The tent spot was clean and so was the bathrooms. They custodial came around early in the morning to get trash and clean up. Also the turkeys come around and get close to you. Beautiful: I never saw one as big as they have. Amazing! Around 6 am you get awaken from the blue birds singing. Starts your day so calming. The sound of nature just Incredible. Since we are still in a Pandemic not everything was open. I do look forward to returning once all is full open and enjoy the amenities since I was not able to book Horseback Riding, and the useful Golf carts much need to get around the property. We was informed it needed to be book like a month in advance. You can also rent bikes for $8 an hour or all day for $20. You are allowed to bring our own. The property was extremely clean: staff was so friendly and help ful. Corvid guidelines enforced: masks and social distance. They do have a general store on property: were you can get fire wood, smores, cereal, milk, cooking items for grilling. They do sell alcohol as well. Gift shop items like towels, sunblock, toys, shorts, shirts extra. Such a cute convenient place so that your stay is comfortable. Batteries, extension cords, charcoal extra. Like a Dollar General would have. Everyone staying at Disney: sooooooooo friendly! It's not like any other camping experience its more like "Glamping". I highly recommend this place. If you enjoy nature this place is for you! I would give it a 5-star but I cant only because I was not informed to book golf cart ahead of time. Otherwise It would be a 5-star and then some. I absolutely love and recommend.

It was wonderful. The RV sites are CLOSE TOGETHER AND TIGHT, Tight back in sites. This is not the place to go if you struggle backing in; however, I believe staff will help at your risk. The resort is delightful with lots of amenities. I'd definitely recommend it! The cabin area was nice. Btw, Amazon, DoorDash, Instacart and shipt deliver to the site. They offer golf cart rentals - get one!

Fort Wilderness is the cleanest, nicest, most friendly camp ground I've ever been to. It helps that it's Disney owned so the quality standard is really high. I love doing horse back trail rides and they have the sweetest most gentle horses and a great trail. They also have pony rides for the youngsters. And it's on the water so I think you can take a ferry to other parts of Disney which is really convenient

Two tents allowed per site. Picnic table, electric hookup. Bring your own extension cord & enjoy cool air w/ a fan in your tent!

This campground is a.m.a.z.i.n.g! Of course, the campsite fee is considerably higher than a state park but you get a TON of amenities in exchange (i.e. $117 per campsite for Disney vs. $25 for a state park) - Magic bands for each person with secured entry to restrooms & the laundry room after hours - Heated outdoor pools, one has a corkscrew slide & hot tub; life jackets are also available - Playgrounds, tennis courts, arcades - Campfire singalongs & S'mores fire pits (the troop brought our own s'mores supplies to save $) - Well-kept comfort stations throughout (restrooms & showers, air-conditioned laundry rooms, ice machines ($2) - Various dining options (great if you don't feel like cooking!) - Disney movie nights - Endless paid activities (fishing, canoes, arcades, bikes, horseback riding, just to name a few) TRANSPORTATION The transportations within the campground is very convenient. Waiting areas are covered with benches. As for transportation outside the campground, I can only speak to the ferry to Fort Wilderness Lodge which was a quick bus ride from our loop to Fort Wilderness Landing then a short ferry ride to Fort Wilderness Lodge. The ferry was smallish - probably accommodated about 20ish? You're not on long enough to feel any kind of motion sickness LOOP My only "gripe" is that we didn't find out our loop until check-in which made me a little anxious not knowing the proximity to activities in advance of our arrival date. Not a big deal but I prefer to get my bearings straight ahead of time so I have some sense of the logistics & estimated transit time between activities. Regardless, we were fortunate to be in the 1500 Loop which was conveniently situated across the street from the Meadows Trading Post (pool, campfire s'mores, tennis courts, playground and arcade). Translated that meant a 5-10 minute walk from our tent to the pool!! TENT SITES: Each of our tent sites also had a picnic table & electric outlets. Yay! The only negative is probably the random spots of standing water (AKA mosquito magnets) but even Disney can't control Mother Nature and her rain! ACTIVITIES: We were also bummed that we could rent canoes this past weekend since it was one of the activities we planned to do with our Girl Scout troop. I think it was something about the water not being deep enough or something. TIPS: - Bring a bike if you want to explore the areas beyond your loop and don't want to shell out $ for a golf cart rental. - Secure your food. These squirrels must be used to having humans throw them scraps because they WILL go for any unopened containers or bags left laying around your picnic table. We lost a bag of m&ms and pretzels to some ballsy squirrel our scouts affectionately named Fred. - Plan for rain. It's Florida and there's always random spots of rain so extra tarps & canopies can't hurt if you already have them. Overall, for the rate you pay per site, I might just opt for a hotel vs. tent camping. However, if you want to do the camping thing aren't keen on completely "roughing" it, then go for the Fort Wilderness Campsites. You won't regret it (unless there's a torrential downpour of rain, then you will probably be miserable!) Fortunately, Mother Nature was kind to us & it turned out to be a perfect end-of-year trip for our Girl Scout troop. Their hard earned cookie money was well spent on Camp Wilderness!

Every time my family and I stay at this Campground every time we visit WDW. It's such a clean, peaceful campground to stay at, with so many different things to do. We've been here multiple times, and still haven't done everything there is to do here! They have many trash cans around the campground, so you never have to worry about dragging your trash bags around, hoping to find a can. Additionally, you can easily access the parks, using their conveniently located boat system. For anyone looking for a calm, fun, and moderately cheap place to stay on property, I'd suggest For Wilderness.

GOLF CART GOLF CART GOLF CART GOLF CART GOLF CART GOLF CART GOLF CART GOLF CART GOLF CART GOLF CART GOLF CART GOLF CART GOLF CART Did I mention that you should rent a GOLF CART? OK, I see some people mentioned bikes, and yes, if you're able, bikes work fine, too. But as of April 2022, the internal Fort Wilderness Campground buses aren't really cutting it. I do believe that Disney is trying to increase the buses, and they changed the routes to allow more pickups (the bus map they have is not accurate). Also, everything is expensive. You'll notice this about Disney World right now. I don't know what to tell you - everyone complaining about the costs, and yet, the parks are packed, so ... ? OK, complaints over. We loved everything else, from the cast members (incredible) to the food (commissary quality, but I've had FAR worse food from commissary kitchens.) The larger pool is worth the trip, but while we were there (week after Easter, 2022, busy), the smaller pool was not that crowded (and much closer to us - we stayed in cabins). Heads up using the ferry, there's a chance that it's temporarily not running. That said, if it's not, the Magic Kingdom bus leaves from Settlement (where the ferry is). Some have commented about the bugs, we encountered very few bugs, and I'm a mosquito magnet!

Pick up $60/day reserved golf carts outside the check in lodge.

Disney does it again. They've truly mastered the vacation experience. We were expecting an outdoorsy twist to a kitschy amusement park resort, but they have managed to create an authentic wilderness escape in the middle of miles of amusement parks. Even deer and rabbits were hopping through the trails and in the woods. Both the RV park, cabins and really everywhere on the resort were clean as you'd expect from Disney. Trash and recycle bins were everywhere you turned and staff maintained the place immaculately. Everyone was friendly and helpful with a warm smile and a "Howdy." There's no shortage of activities and amenities for guests: swimming pool, volleyball, arcade, trading posts, laundry rooms, campfires, horseback riding, wagon rides, boat rides to Magic Kingdom, fishing tours, etc., and at additional costs. This is Disney after all. You can do without renting a golf cart if you plan to drive to the parks and dine outside of the resort. If you are, however, planning to spend a lot of time on the resort, reserve your golf cart early. It's $60 a day and due the following day before 11 am. I wish we would have rented our golf cart for just a day or two and not our entire stay. The golf cart sat in the driveway untouched the days we were at the parks.

Just a bit of a walk from there with my inflated paddleboard, but I don't mind the extra exercise. You can unload your stuff closer, if preferable. There are port-a-potties available. You can count on there being a line in the check-in office. Various recreation supplies are available there for purchase. The process moves reasonably enough. Not sure if it's the carpet or the ventilation system, but it does have a smell in various areas. I believe some of the smell is due to lockers that do not appear to have been opened in months based on the dust on some of the locks. (See picture. In the past, I was told if members pay their monthly locker charge, there is nothing they can do to alleviate any odors coming from a locker.) The men's steam room had been closed for almost two years as they are "renovating" it. Earlier this year, a sign was posted stating a new boiler was needed and they were requesting donations. (Dues just went up $4/month.) In addition, there are no staff members walking around the Strength Circuit equipment area in the evenings and some members stay at one machine for 10 minutes or longer. They even scroll on their phones even though signs are posted to be "courteous" of others who may want to use the machine. (See picture.) These signs were smaller and posted on each machine, but they seemed to have "disappeared". I have had to repeatedly ask if I could "work in" as some members think they own the machine. Not sure why members have to constantly ask to "work in". Shouldn't the offending members have some responsibilities to follow the rules?!! This past week, I had enough. I addressed one member who constantly uses one machine and scrolls on his phone consistently. I asked if I could work in. He said he had one more rep and didn't realize I wanted in. (This is not the first time he's told me this.) I told him he had been on the machine over 10 minutes and saw me walk by numerous times. Also, I stated scrolling on the phone is not allowed given the signs in this area. I just walked away. Another member (who is a long-time member like me) was at the machine next to him, heard what I said and thanked me. She said he is one of the worst offenders, but there are others just like him. She noted the courtesy rule is 3 reps and move on, plus no scrolling on the phone. She added respect seems to be missing from this gym. Amen! Obviously, management needs to do a better job of handling this situation as a few small signs are not deterring the problem.

You can tell there was likely some damage and downed trees due to the recent hurricanes and some of the big oaks have uprooted. It's still a nice park nonetheless with wooden bridges, 2 playgrounds, a basketball court, and tennis court, and plenty of covered picnic areas and benches. They have a parking lot onsite as well as a community center. This park is also directly across the street from Dickson Azalea park, so if you're down for off-roading in more of a forest vibe (not stroller friendly), be sure to skip over there for a true nature adventure!

Langford are buried in Orlando's historic Greenwood Cemetery. Carl T. Langford (July 23, 1918 - July 9, 2011) was mayor of Orlando from 1967 until 1980. He was one of the first two Eagle Scouts in the state to be awarded the Distinguished Eagle Scout Award. After serving in the military he attended the University of Florida and graduated Magna Cum Laude in 1948. Carl T Langford is most remembered for being instrumental in bringing Disney World to Orlando. Carl T Langford Park is an oasis of nature in Orlando. It is located along Central Boulevard just south of downtown. This 19 acre park has an abundance of ancient shady live oaks, wide sidewalks, and green open spaces. There are also laurel oaks and swamp chestnut trees. Many birds, butterflies, and squirrels make their home here. Park amenities include a playground, boardwalk, basketball and tennis courts, picnic pavilions, a gazebo and neighborhood center can be reserved for parties. A loved discovering the suspension bridge. In 2014 a three foot pink bunny sculpture appeared in the park. The rabbit was placed in the park in honor of Charles Smith (Chase Smith) a longtime aide to City Commissioner Patty Sheehan and Orange County Mayor Teresa Jacobs. Smith died in August 2013 at the age of 41, shortly after being diagnosed with cancer. Chase Smith stepped in one year to play the Easter Bunny for the children at the egg hunts in Lake Como Park and here in Carl T. Langford Park. He was a natural and was beloved for the role. To honor him, a pink bunny was placed here and at Lake Como Park. I enjoyed such a relaxing visit to Carl T. Langford Park. The trees are beautiful and this park is the perfect respite from the hustle and bustle of daily life. Go for a hike, take the kids to play, host a party, or enjoy a picnic. Whatever you do, you can't help but be charmed by the abundance of nature in this picturesque park

I met Dena this year and I recently described her to someone as "the chick who lit a fire under my…read more*ss" as far as motivation. She has so much enthusiasm for life and her drive is exceptional. When she began her bootcamp this year, I knew it was going to be difficult and worth it. I have only attended one session due to my lack of drive but Dena accepts that when I am ready to take the step... I will be unstoppable. Until then, I should take any step I can. I went a few weeks ago and I was not ready for what was about to take place, but in a good way, my body needed it. It was an hour of intense movement, nothing that is impossible but it was constant. The good thing about Dena is she makes you feel great and gives positive feedback the entire time and let's you go at your own pace. But, don't get it twisted, she will move on without you but I believe this is great motivation. Jogging, Skipping, Running, Arms, Legs, Abs... it's a full workout. Make sure you eat a small breakfast. She will take you through a cool down and stretch at the end as well. She is full of info so make sure to ask any questions. Want to take the challenge? Mon - Thursday at 6pm. Saturday at 9am. Lake Eola. Meet across from Publix on Central Blvd. (If there is an event at Lake Eola, she will move it to Lake Underhill so check her facebook page) $10 per class. Or $40 for 5 classes. $70 for 10 classes. She is CPR/AED certified. She is also available for one on one training. Currently, she only has a facebook page so check it out! GetThereBootCamp She also is the fitness blogger for CentralFloridaTop5, tons of great info!

Dena definitely does a great job of knowing what her clients need for each particular workout, and keeps them motivated to push through and keep going even when they don't feel like it. I highly recommend this Boot Camp to anyone who's looking to build a better body, mind, and soul in the coming years! My blog partner wrote-up a little post promoting Get There Boot Camp, too.
