Fort Wayne Orthopedics is by far the best medical practice I have ever dealt with in my life. The professionalism, courtesy, and above and beyond attitude that they provide has proven that they are the best ortho place in Fort Wayne. I've been seen ever since I was young for broken bones, sprains, and injuries as I played soccer for 16 years. My body got pretty beat up so I was a loyal customer:) Specifically, I would like to recognize Dr. Sassmannhausen and his staff. Dr. Sass and his staff took me through 1 ACL reconstruction in high school, another one 4 years later. Following surgery I had an accident and broke my knee cap during my last semester of college. Dr. Sass scheduled me an emergency surgery which had multiple complications. And then another surgery a year later to get rid of my hardware holding my knee cap together. His staff and him were there for me every step of the way, even in the middle of the night through my rehabilitation. It was the most painful experience of my life but FWO made it bearable and was extremely sympathetic. I'm now a healthy 25 year old who still has knobby knees but I know if I ever need an ortho doctor, Dr. Sass will my be choice no matter where I live. I had the worst experience today with ABBEY BUNNELL - Nurse Practitioner. She was so rude, disrespectful, and demonically scripted. When she read on her computer notes that I was filing for disability, she IMMEDIATELY STARTED TO TREAT ME LIKE GARBAGE, VERY HOSTILE, yelling, and raising her voice at me. She treated me like I'm a fake, a fraud, a con-man just trying to deceive FWO to write a letter to get sympathy for disability/SSI. She said my pain management doctor (Ken Austin MD) lied and overexaggerated my test results, and painful back symptoms, when the MRI & X-Rays proves Ken Austin was RIGHT, and ABBEY BUNNELL to be a LIAR & DEAD WRONG!!! She knows with my BULGING DISC, if I continue to be active, work, lift, and stress out my back I will keep on herniating it and it will soon rupture, THEN I'LL BE IN A WHEELCHAIR. HOW CAN ANY SANE DOCTOR FORCE SOMEONE SUFFERING IN PAIN TO GO BACK TO WORK WHEN THEY ARE IN SERIOUS DANGER OF A RUPTURE. This woman is crazy!!! When I throw my back out, I'm crawling on the floor, urinating in cups, whishing I was dead, THE PAIN IS EXCRUCIATING. For 16 years, I have always been in severe pain because of my back. I have a very painful bulging disc that could dangerously herniate and rupture with the slightest of work or stress. I have arthritis, moderate degenerative disc disease, and painful bone spurs in my back that contribute to my pain. I constantly throw my back out by bending, sneezing, stress, work, anything active, and when it's thrown out, I can barely walk, sleep, or stand for up to 3 months. Abbey Bunnell deliberately downplayed my MRI report to nothing serious so I wouldn't have a credible case for filing for SSI/disability. I currently take 13 different medications for my back, anxiety, depression, cognitive disorder, carpal tunnel, etc. Abbey said by my MRI it's ok for me to work and lift 50 to100+ pounds with no fear of a disc herniation or ruptured, WHEN THE MRI SHOWS MY SPINE IS BULGING IN THE L3/L4 region, plus I have a huge lipoma pushing against my spine above the L3 L4 region that she failed to diagnose, AND DIDN'T WANT TO HEAR ABOUT AS I TRIED TO EXPLAIN TO HER. This woman has personal hatred towards me. She kept cutting me off during our conversation. She kept saying she knows many people who had surgery who went back to work, THAT IS A PERSONAL INSULTING CHEAP SHOT. I'm sorry Abbey, I don't want to be hooked to narcotics for the rest of my life, and have metal plates, cages, and screws in my back THAT WILL CAUSE ME MORE PAIN, it's ridiculous! Abbey Bunnell has revealed an even darker side of FWO that no patient should ever see due to her Incompetence. 10 minutes of arguing with this ignorant, hateful woman, and not once did she ever tell me why my back is always in pain, and why I keep throwing my back out so easily, abnormally. She had 2 of my MRIs, 5 X-rays, test results, footnotes, diagnosis, and tons of references, BUT SHE STILL FAILED TO TELL ME ANYTHING face to face about my back pain and problems!!! I thought she was a professional, she is a liar, she hated me from day one, she has a very smart, rude, belittling mouth, she knows what hurts. She was deliberately withholding this critical medical information from me about my back so I wouldn't have a credible case for getting SSI/Disability. THAT IS CRIMINAL ON HER PART. I can't stand people like that, I HOPE THEY FIRE HER, she is fake!!! She was plotting against me. MATTER OF FACT: She said: My back was perfectly fine, she's seen worse backs on a 46-year-old, I don't need disability, I need to get a job. I said: what about the arthritis in my back, she said everybody has arthritis in their back, I SAID: what about the bone spurs, the bulging disc, the painful lipoma by my spine, the foraminal protrusion and facet degeneration, the frequent throwing my back out, and the aggravating pain I'm always in etc? Abbey said: EVERYBODY HAS THAT PROBLEM TOO. WHAT A LIAR, this woman is hating on me, she hates my guts, she's trying to ruin me. I have a (NO EXP) handicap placard, prescribed medications for all my conditions, a walker, quad-cane, etc, all prescribed by my doctors. I WILL NEVER LET THIS EVIL WOMAN ABBEY BUNNELL TELL ME WHAT I AM NOT!!! Please, investigate her crimes and fire her. I am DONE waiting 1-1/2 to 2 hours for Dr Caudell at FWO. Every single time I've seen him it's been at least 1-1/2 hours to even see him. If you can't schedule yourself enough time to see your patients in a timely manner, you are just egotistical to think we will sit there forever. I am sure ONE has a podiatrist or two! read more

not the review I was hoping to leave- after waiting 2+ hours we saw Olivia Ryan NP, who spent less than 20 minutes with my daughter, ordered an x-ray, agreed it wouldn't show much except for bone, felt around and concluded rest and ice would be the best remedy of her sports injury. after a 2nd opinion at another facility, my daughter ended up having a torn meniscus. This could've been easily caught had the NP listened to our concerns, symptoms, and ordered the MRI that we asked for. read more

If there was a zero star option, that's what I would give. Dr. Snyder did my eleven year old sons ACL surgery 9/23/25. Two weeks later he was extremely sick, took him to STAT Care 10/11 to make sure it wasn't his knee. They swabbed him for Covid, influenza, and strep. His strep came back positive. That night his knee quadrupled in size, hot, and red. I called the on call number, sent pictures and was told to see how he did through the night and to take him to the ED at Lutheran in the morning....which was fine with. I took him to Lutheran ED 10/12 and the consulting FWO PA said it was viral synovitis from the strep. Called the next day and asked if repeated labs needed to be done and was told no. Called back a week later stating his incision was open and draining....that's the infection working it's way out. Called and asked for an early appointment, was told no and asked if I wanted to cancel his 10/30 appointment. 10/30 appointment Dr. Snyder had my son and I in tears, said he wasn't doing his therapy correctly, poor diagnosis, he shouldn't be using crutches (all of this we were never given any orders for). He ordered STAT labs that were completed and all showed elevated markers for infection. 10/31 STAT MRI, 11/1 surgery were he found the whole knee was infected so much that his ACL graft fell out and he didn't have to remove it. 12/4 last appointment and my son was measured for a brace. 12/29 called and left a voicemail asking for an update on his brace. 1/6 Called and left another voicemail asking for an update on his brace. This time I got a call back and they never ordered it. The girl apologizes and that he was in between sizes and wasn't sure what to order. Mind you they never called me. I already meant my deductible for 2025 and now we are in 2026 and I should be $1000 for incompetence? Called today 1/16/26 and they still didn't order it!!! But, if I pay $416.40 which I did it should be in Monday. The kicker of it is, is that she said they called and left me a voicemail everyday this week, which is a BLANT LIE! As soon as my son gets his brace, we are officially done with FWO! I wouldn't wish this treatment on anyone! read more

Hello I was referred to this Facility by my doctor for Therapy in December 2024..Now when the representative call me about the referral...I asked her to call my Insurance company 1st to make sure they will cover the cost because if NOT I will NOT be able to come because I CAN'T afford it...She started OK..They called me back after a few days to let me know I was covered and my Insurance company will be taking care of the bill at 100 percent..BUT THEY LIED..I found out THEY LIED because when they sent the bill to my Insurance company they DENIED IT...I CANCELED ALL my future appointments soon as I found out they LIED, but that's after I have already had 4 visits. Now they trying to stick me with a BILL OVER $1000, BECAUSE THEY LIED!!!But I'm going to make sure this gets investigated..ASAP read more

I went in for back pain twice over the past 3 years and each time they make me feel so incompetent as a patient. The actual doctor didn't even ask me any questions about what I was feeling and just referred me to therapy right away. I walked out crying. read more

The south and the north offices are like night and day. The north side office staff were very professional and curious. I had to go to the south office to pick up a small boot for my daughter while she waited in the car with an open fracture on her left ankle, both ankles were broken. The north side office called the south office and arranged for the second boot to be picked up, We were told it would be waiting for me at the reception area. When I arrived the receptionist told me to take a seat, none of the receptionists knew anything about a boot. She said she would call the nurses station. After waiting several minutes I went to another receptionist and asked again about the boot. She very rudely asked me how long I had been waiting, I explained to her that my daughter was waiting in the car with two broken ankles one of which was an open fracture, I also told her the car has been running and I needed to get gas. She could care less! I At this point I told her I was going to get gas and I'd be right back. When I returned I was told in a very nasty and surly voice to sit in the waiting area again. I waited a few more minutes and took it upon myself to walk back to the nurses station and inquired about the boot. About a minute later a very nice male nurse brought it out. I hope the Managers of this office realize how important it is to have professional and personable staff who give a good first impression! Huge fail!! read more

The actual care I get from doctors at Fort Wayne Ortho is acceptable , but something needs to be done, to figure out a better system of phone calls, returning phone calls and getting to the right queue. Several different times, I have called trying to make appointments and it's like a video game, you get thrown all the way back to square one if you happen to get in the wrong queue. For example, on 3 separate occasions I have tried to call ( 3 separate days) and it is a back and forth game of all day long ( because you are 9th in the queue and if you dont want to hold, you type in your number and they call you back......maybe). it is an uphill battle to make an appointment and i feel like the organization has grown too big and is not staffed enough to keep up with keeping patients happy. I went to Fort Wayne Orthopedics with my sister for her foot and the patient care was laughable. I have worked and spent a considerable amount of time in a hospital/doctor's office environment and I have never seen such poor patient care. We arrived on time for our appointment and were seated in a waiting section. Forty minutes later, we were still not called back. They treated us and the other patients like a checklist, and I will never come back for anything. In this day and age, customer service/patient care should be a practice's main priority, as patients and consumers have many options for their care. This practice's actions showed me that my time is not valued and that money, not patient care, is the most important. read more

I took my son to FWO a few years ago after we delt with ONE he had a pretty serious break on his ankle, it only took them 3 times to find the 2 broken bones. He was still having problems after a year when he ran, I decided to take him to FWO, was tired of ONE by than. FWO took an X-ray and found a bone infection, you could see it right there on the xray they took. Dr. compared the FWO X-ray to the last on ONE took and guess what the bone infection was there on ONE'S X-ray too. Even I could see it. So my son had had a bone infection for over a year, because ONE did not do their job. My son ended up in Lutheran Hospital to have surgery to have the infection scraped off and out of the bone. They were not sure they could get it all. He was in the hospital for 5 days for Lutheran to figure out what kind of infection it was. He was on high doses of IV antibiotics, and went home on strong on strong antibiotics for 90 days. Luckily it was a treatable infection, if not, it could of ended up a whole different story. Dr said if we would of waited much longer it would of been a different ending too. Was pretty sad to make a 13 year old boy go through all of that, do to the incompetence of ONE. Thank goodness for FWO and Dr Beuchel, he was wonderful. Last X-ray showed the infection was gone. Should of taken ONE to court for negligence. Will always use FWO. Have no faith in ONE. read more

The Doctors are great but the organization and management is very bad. They do not accept Veterans Choice even if you have been a patient in the past. They do not in my opinion respect military service. read more
