When I started my journey with sumit pain Managment at the Delalb hospital location I was more than happy. My doctor referred me there after I had many years of chronic pain ongoing issues in the Net hip and knees. The staff at the Auburn office are amazing. They are very kind and warm. They speak to you with gentleness and are very informative if they cannot speak to you in person they will go out of their way to make a phone call appointment that is very appreciative when one person cannot make it to the office. I've never met such a great working team. I've been given a gift having these doctors and staff caring for me during my struggles. The doctors during the visits are open to listening, giving advice helping with location questions and I very much approve this office for further appointments. I went there to get treated with pain medication instead of injections. They allowed me to do that and increased my meds sometimes when I asked them to do so. I was very happy with them UNTIL 3 years later when they dumped me "without warning." They made up some doctor/patient relationship breakdown as the reason? I was a model patient. I never failed a urinalysis nor a pill count. They trusted me enough to put me on a 3-month appt schedule instead of the usual once-a-month. I'm deaf. To this day I don't have a clue of "who" I had this "breakdown" with. My suspicions are either they are intimidated by the DEA who over-sees opioid dosing. Or not enough profit for the liabilities they may have. Either way, what they did to me by eventually upping my dosage from 90 MMEs(65 mgs daily) to 360 MMEs(240mgs daily), put me in a horrible position when they decided to just dump me! I had absolutely no problem with the dosage, but through much misinformation, some government agencies like the CDC and DEA see that dosage as very dangerous. The ONLY thing that makes 240mgs of Oxycodone dangerous is when prescribers Force Taper you and kick you out of their care! THIS is exactly what Summit Pain Management has done to me! I now must face horrible withdrawals with excruciating pain unless I can find another provider who would continue to prescribe the same dosage which is next to IMPOSSIBLE in this political environment! (And They Know It!) There are very few things that are more inhumane to Chronic Pain Patients than what they just did to me! At 70 years old with High Blood Pressure and being Pre-Diabetic with Severe Arthritis with Bulging Discs, my future looks to be very dire! With my prior dosage of Oxycodone, I could keep up with my daily choirs and help my wife with our 18 year old disabled child (Downs Syndrome w/ Non-verbal Autism). Now, I will continue to be Bed-Bound in excruciating pain when attempting to do any "basic" physical chores! So this "little" decision they made in (trimming out their liabilities), is costing me my entire Quality-of-Life! Instead, they are literally sentencing me to a lifetime in bed! read more

I've been a chronic pain patient for over 37 years. I've been to several pain docs in that timeframe but have been at Summit for the past 5-6 years. They do an excellent job of listening and evaluating your needs. Several changes they made have been a godsend for me. I drive 2.5 hours one way just to see them but it's well worth it. I have a much better quality of life thanks to this caring group of health professionals. read more

I have been a patient for the past 3 years, and while the majority of my care has been good, I am leaving a 1 star review based on my most recent visit. In the past I have always seen a specific PA (Colt Cansler), and he has been awesome! I have also had epidural injections, and SI injections done by DR. Cofman which have been mostly successful. I have 3 ruptured discs in my lower back, spinal stenosis, neuropathy , CRPS, and fibromyalgia so I am ALWAYS in pain. Unfortunately I am also a fairly big guy, and I have tried most other medications none of which have helped. When I saw Colt, he told me to tell him what I wanted, and he would prescribe it, which was great. My most recent visit I saw someone else (Sam Rhodes) He is young, fresh out of PA school, and fairly new to the practice. He asked about my mental health, and I was honest and told him that I am frustrated that I am always in pain. at that point he said he wanted to change my med to something that I have taken before, and it did not work, plus it cost 3 times as much for 30 pills, as what I pay out of pocket for 60 percocets... I explained all of this to Sam, and he simply did not care!!! I finally told him that Id leave, and reschedule with a different provider. read more

Finally, a pain Dr that listens to me and doesn't brush off my symptoms. I've been in severe pain for 4 years. Last place didn't do injections after the my last np there left. I was feeling defeated. My first visit was great and all staff has been great. I'm glad that are working with my specialists as well to find all that's wrong. I'm able to walk a little more, so have pain but it's not nearly as bad as what it was. I can't thank you all enough. read more

Summit City Pain Management is a joke. They only help you if they can make money off you or your insurance. My mother was a patient with them, getting opioids and narcotics from them on a monthly basis, as well as back injections every three months. She decided she no longer wanted to be on opioids and told her doctor, Dr. Roth, as much. They wrote her a prescription for a med without getting prior authorization from her insurance company and sent her on her way, on a Friday. The insurance declined the med and left my mother without any pain meds for more than three weeks, despite constant calls to figure out what is going on. If someone is addicted to opioids, they should be eased off. Summit thought it would be a great idea to just cut my mother off cold turkey. I took care of her while she went through withdrawal. After a month of trying to figure out what was going on, they gave her a prescription FOR THE SAME MEDICINE THAT GOT DECLINED. So I called my mother's insurance and asked what they needed. They needed the doctor's office to fax back some paper work. When we called Summit, they said they had received no paperwork. We called her insurance back and the lady said she faxed the paperwork three separate times. I called Summit back and all of a sudden, they had the paperwork. So we were able to get the medication filled. After doing some research, the medication is for addiction...not even a pain medicine. Once they figured out they wouldn't be making money off my mother, they dropped her and stopped caring at all. Today, she received a letter from Summit informing her she is no longer allowed on premise. IF they aren't making money off you, they aren't going to care about you. Go somewhere else. read more

The doctors do a great job with procedures and bedside manner, but, every visit takes too long to be seen. It's not unusual to be called back to see the doctor 45 minutes to over an hour after scheduled appointment. They expect patients to arrive early for paperwork etc, I expect my appointment time to be respected. read more

Summit pain Management has failed me. They assume no responsibility for their failure in my treatment. Awaiting surgery for six months was unbearable with pain management from summit. I had to pay cash for all my scripts and they couldn't get my injections approved. Pre-op would take weeks and still couldn't get my medication paid for it got very expensive. They blame the system not ones that I even see a doctor I was treated by three nurse practitioners and a physician's assistant. They have too many patients and no one's in charge. So impersonal. When I called you complain to administration they told me to see a family physician. Rude. made it clear they had no intention of filing any complaints on my behalf even though they could have been prescribing sleep medication eight months before I had issues with medication. read more

I just read a bad review for Dr. Roth, I have been seeing the Dr. for some time now and told him I wanted to get off the pain medicine he in no way threw me under the bus, but worked with me by tapering me off the pain medication, the next time I saw him he still worked with me I asked if I could stay on them a little while, no problem at a much lesser dosage. I am now working on being off them completely its not easy but can be done with Gods help. As far as wanted to make money off you there have been times of no charge. read more

Patients are dollar signs, they push injections on you and other procedures that in my experience do NOT work. I have been going to pain management doctors for 4 years and it can become very frustrating to say the least and even depressing at times...drs do not give you much time, nurses are often rude and short staffed, they do not seem to offer alternative solutions based on your needs and you do not feel taken care of. I have been a patient of pain management for quite some years. I suffer from fibromyalgia, failed back surgery, failed foot surgery and Rheumatoid Arthritis. I see Dorinda Mosbrucker, NP. She is a soul that is soothing to the bone from head to toe. She believes in all over care including mental health. She makes sure I understand the plan of care for myself and has even shed a tear when I had been at my uttermost distress. This is a physician that you want looking after and caring for you.
