Improvement isn't possible according to the Customer Service Supervisor. She let me know that this is "just how it is." ONE doesn't care about whether or not you get the assistance you need. The only way to improve is to replace current top management with a team that wants to serve the patient. Period. ONE is outsourcing their work to a 3rd party portal. They would rather you click on a computer screen than to answer any questions, work to make an already hard situation better, or actually get you to a human being to assist you. The humans that they do have in the front office are rude! Not just at one office, at every location. That type of service trickles down from the top. read more

Leading up to surgery for a ruptured achilles, the communication was very poor. No one communicated about the day of and what to bring (I had to call), after the surgery I never saw the surgeon again that day or on the follow up appointment, no wellness check or call on the third day as the post op instructions stated, and no communication about what to bring on the two week check (like the boot I already purchased). It's really unfortunate to see how modern medicine has evolved into nothing but profits. read more

We have trusted ONE for many years. They have missed the boat this time. We have been waiting several days for a procedure to be scheduled. Many phone calls to scheduling. Each time they say they are working on it. Worried about the outcome. History of staff infection so you would think they would be getting the procedure scheduled. There are so many places that have the ability to take care of this and we are willing to go wherever. Wish someone would take charge and get it done. Dr. Andersen has treated my husband terribly. He is very knowledgeable, however (my husband has complete torn ligaments, causing his kneecap to be displaced). He was supposed to have surgery back in October, but Dr. Andersen refused to prescribe pain medication before the surgery, even though my husband was in tears and excruciating pain. My husband has never asked for opiates in his life until now. Dr Andersen also recommended my husband to "walk on the leg" and "do whatever you want with the leg". My husband cannot move due to the pain. He then developed two blood clots not long after and this Dr now has pushed back his surgery for MONTHS, and still refuses to give him any pain relief. This is absolutely inhumane and UNACCEPTABLE. This was a work injury and my husband has no quality of life, cannot move due to the severity of the pain, cannot use the bathroom. I cannot believe a human being is being treated so poorly. I'm in shock. Please do not come here for any ortho injury. I highly recommend Fort Wayne Ortho instead. The office staff is also rude and uncaring. read more

Just a mess from start to finish... no paperwork, sent to wrong address: given wrong address for first visit so I was late: sent for ENG, but they called day before the appointment and canceled, then when I tried to reschedule, they said in 2 day they were closing that location, so I would have to reschedule at a different location after waiting 6 weeks for original appointment, that would make me reschedule my doctor's appointment. Discarded patient when they had severe infection, even staff ignored patient when they called multiple times stating there was an infection in the surgical area and running fevers after surgery. Now 7 months later, 7 months, patient is still dealing with Osteomyelitis of the bones. ONE messed up big on this one and now patient is paying with their life!!! read more

I broke my arm in mid January, went to Ortho NorthEast to get evaluated. Dr Goertzen was understanding, straight forward with the facts and recommended surgery due to potential future concerns. Surgery was scheduled and performed 6 days after diagnosis. The nurses, PA's and Dr Goertzen were wonderful during the whole process, from prep, surgery and post-op. I couldn't have had a better experience . Followup appointment was exactly as expected. I would highly recommend Dr Goertzen and Ortho NorthEast for excellent care. read more

I suffered knee problems (bone on bone). The surgeon recommended arthroscopic surgery to repair a meniscus tear, I still suffered! 2 months later I'm told I needed a partial knee replacement! More surgery, physical rehab and recovery. Still in severe pain after a month, knew something was wrong. I saw 2 of the ONE surgeons located at the Parkview campus to be told it was soft tissue! Several X-rays and a scan determined I had a fractured tibia! Ended up in a wheelchair for 4 months, never healed. I suffered at the hands from a ONE surgeon for 8 months, wheelchair bound, and I paid out over $$$$ of pocket cost for physical rehab! I ended up going to a professional surgeon connected with Lutheran Hospital and was told I needed a TOTAL KNEE REPLACEMENT! When I under went surgery to remove the partial knee implants it was discovered that the implant on the tibia was not secure and popped right out! Listen to your body AND always insist on more tests, seek out a physician NOT in the same network! They cover each other's mistakes and lie to protect themselves. read more

I had been a patient of Ortho Northeast for more than 10 years. I have always been on time and never missed an appt. The rapport I had with my Dr and the staff was always great. However on one occasion I checked in like normal. Gave my ID and insurance cards. Waited patiently in the waiting room. After an hour, the clerk that checked me in comes out to tell me she noticed I've been waiting awhile and asks my name (again). She says she'll see what's going on. I wait patiently. Maybe she forgot to check? So I go to the window and ask what's going on. Only to find out I was never checked in. Which meant I was marked as a "no show". This was the beginning of a very frustrating morning. I was told I wouldn't be seen because of this clerk's mistake. I was told to reschedule my appt. I insisted that since I was here in time and not a "no show" I should not have to reschedule. I was finally "allowed" to see the NP after a lot of involvement from other staff. However as I was being taken back, the assistant by the name of Gina was extremely rude and condescending. As I was walking thru the door I said to her "I'm not sure what happened" and was rudely cut off with her response "okay I'm not going to argue with you about it". My subsequent appointments were awkward and uncomfortable because Gina treated me as if I was a child needing to be scolded. I had a procedure scheduled on the next appt. I was informed I could sign a waiver to drive myself home afterwards per the Dr. Gina did not accept this pre arrangement I had with the Dr. and argued with me. When I asked to speak to him personally, she was verbally degrading me. The Dr proceeded with the procedure and it went perfect. We even made jokes to one another. Afterward I was asked to rate the visit. i gave everyone except Gina a good rating. When I called back a couple days later to tell the office my pain rating, I was informed I would no longer be seen by the Dr. When I dug more into the details, I was informed that Gina told my Dr I was yelling and took my mask off and made faces at her. All of which was 100% fabricated by Gina to have me removed as a patient. Because she had a personal issue with me, she lied to have me barred from this clinic. I am shocked after 10 years my Dr abandoned me and did not hear my side. He didn't try to resolve the conflict. I tried to be my own advocate and talk to HR. But they are not there for the patient. They are there for the employer only. I asked if they had cameras as I could prove Gina was lying and was told they didn't, which is pretty convenient for them. I would never recommend Dr. Karl or this practice to anyone. And I will recommend the new practice I go to now which is SBO. They are fantastic and treat me with the utmost respect. Which is how you are supposed to treat your patients. read more

I grew up going to ONE. They were my trainer for soccer, for high school sports, and for my family members. I've had a broken ankle and broken wrist - can't complain because both are amazing today. My sister recently had knee surgery. Her job requires her to have lots of mobility, as she's in musical theater, and the doctors had her dancing and running by the time she headed off to her first professional gig. Most recently they have taken care of my mom. Visited 8 different doctors and finally went to ONE and was taken care of. THANK YOU ONE!!! read more

Had fiberglass cast applied today. Now experiencing too much pain to sleep. Talked to on-call nurse who said, "You were told by Kristin to alternate Tylenol and Ibuprofen." Sadly, this is a lie. In addition, there is nothing in my discharge materials to help pain management. Sadly, I will now not ever be able to trust their record-keeping. read more

Started seeing Dr. Barr for my neuropathy pain and back problems. I see his NP more often then him. Both are just a like though. They don't listen to your concerns and want to be in and out. Unless they are wanting to convince you to have a procedure done. Once it's over they don't even listen when you try telling them there are new problems. I tried telling the NP about the new pain and swelling and she just told me I needed to lose weight and gave me a brochure. I got my script for my pain med and it said do not fill until the following month! I live 45 minutes away and have to deal with it on Monday now and have been out of meds for two days! They only care about the money not helping their patients. Find somewhere else to go! read more

Went to ONE for a knee injury in May, twisted my ankle and fell on my left knee, it immediately swelled up and I was concerned I might have to have it drained. Was too late in the day to go so I went the following morning, didn't have to wait too long but the doctor stood in the doorway looked at my knee and said they wouldn't be draining it and ask me if I could take anti inflammatory medication, I said yes not knowing that if you're on blood pressure meds you shouldn't take them because it will cause severe bruising, the doctor obviously didn't look at my chart because it was listed as a prescribed medication, so after spending maybe a total of 3 minutes standing in the door and being prescribed something I shouldn't have been taking I received a bill for over 300 bucks, what a joke, the doctor (and I using the term loosely) didn't do anything for me but when I confronted them about the bill they took it to a committee and I was told just the other day that the charge would not be changed and it was justified. Will never visit this so called clinic again. Beware! read more

Not the best. Can't see a Dr. - Just the PA and he didn't seem to understand a pre-existing condition that was being treated by another physician. Service is bad. Needed a followup on Friday for something that was done on the prior day. Got an appointment then it was cancelled. Guess you just have to deal with the pain on your own through the weekend. read more
