Kangs Tailoring - Kang kept arguing that her hem stitching blended with the rest of the stitching.

Kang ruined 3 of my favorite jeans, so I had to donate them. When I asked for a refund, she said…read more"sue me" (it was cash only). I had to get all my jeans hemmed (very simple) quickly, so I made the mistake of blindly trusting Google Maps reviews and entrusting Kang with my jeans. The first interaction was great, and I thought my clothes were in good hands. When I came back and saw my clothes, I nearly cried (they were expensive jeans). The first time, I tried on each pair of jeans and told her exactly how I wanted them (one with a half break and showing a little ankle, another with less break and covering less ankle, and the other with no break and just above the ankle. All three came back several inches above my ankle. She made them all into clown pants. The stitching looks like it was done by a child, on all 3 pairs. They may have been done reversed, because the inside looks a LOT better than the outside. The color is just ridiculous, compared to the rest of the jeans. I look an idiot wearing these jeans. When I told her about my disappointment, she kept saying, "oh well, there's nothing I can do now." I'd lost several hundreds of dollars on these unwearable jeans, so I asked if I could just have the $36 back. Kang immediately got up in arms, saying things like, "Who in the world gives their money back? Go ask anyone on the street if they've ever seen that before," "Some people wear jeans like this nowadays," "Never in 30 years have I ever encountered something like this," and "If you want your money back you can sue me. Go to the city and sue me." Save your clothes and your money. Do not go to Kang's.

Nice lady, but very disorganized. Her hours are not typical business hours, nor are they consistent…read moreso I recommend that you call first to see if she is working. It was frustrating to get there at 2 PM on a Wed, only to find that she was closed. Other than that, her prices are reasonable and simple alterations are fine.

This was off just having a terrible experience with some shirts getting butchered by the local dry cleaner, so I wanted a more professional take. I walked in completely clueless on a whim, tactlessly not making an appointment, and even though it was Juan's lunchbreak he still immediately took the time to see me and work with me. That said... let the man eat. Don't interrupt his break! I still feel bad about it!!! About the tailoring: Juan is just That Dude. He WILL make you look better and point out ways to make the clothes better compliment your body that others don't even know about. The pricing felt extremely fair and not at all like I was being overcharged for the amount and quality of work being done. Not only that, Juan did me a solid by getting the alterations done in-time with a big move out of state. Last minute, off of a random walk-in, and brother still treated me like I was a long time regular. And matter of fact, even though I'm going to be living down south I WILL still be getting my nicest clothing tailored by Juan. That's what his work is worth to me. 10/10 will be making sure I get my nephews' first suits tailored by him too

If you're looking for a top-tier tailor in Midtown Manhattan, Alterations.com should be at the top…read moreof your list. Head tailor Juan Cuello is exceptionally skilled and relentlessly professional--he simply won't stop until the fit is perfect. Over the past six years, I've brought him around a dozen off-the-rack suits, and he has consistently transformed them to look and feel like high-end made-to-measure pieces. The difference in drape, balance, and overall silhouette is remarkable. I've used other tailors for alterations, but none come close to Juan's level of precision, craftsmanship, and attention to detail. He takes real pride in his work, and it shows in every finished garment. Juan is truly one of a kind.
