There are a lot of bakery chains in Metro Manila that border the line between Asian/Chinese and FIlipino-influenced baked goods. This shop teeters more on the Chinese side. I came into the store around 7:30 after going to Saturday Mass around the area and stumbled upon their promotion of buy-one-take-one breads between 7-9. Definitely a good thing to be reminded of because, once these breads are BOTO it makes for a great deal.
I ended up getting two asado rolls for only 48 pesos, along with two pineapple rolls for 38 pesos. Great value. The asado roll tastes a lot more sweet than I'm used to, but it's the same sweetness you get when you eat Chinese longganisa, so I attribute it to a heavier Chinese culinary influence. The pineapple rolls were delicious! They consistency was nice and flaky and it made for a nice treat as it wasn't too sweet or too oily.
I wouldn't go out of my way to visit this bakeshop, but if you're in the area (especially if you're there during the buy one take one promotion), it's definitely worth it. read more
