Stopped to get all the last minute camping items- we like to eat well. Forklift had everything we were looking for! The tri tip we purchased from the meat counter was hands down better than anyone else purchased from other stores. We found an amazing gf pancake mix as well as pure maple syrup in a plastic bottle, love non breakable stuff when we are camping. Way to go Forklift! read more

I love this store & do not shop anywhere else! Quality produce, meats & low reasonable prices. Everyone in the store is helpful & have gone out of their way to help me locate items. I always have a great experience with the smiling friendly persons that work there. Even with prices going up I never have a heart attack when my groceries are rung up! Prices are so reasonable that I always have a packed pantry & money left over in the food budget. I also give this store & employees an A+ in Customer Service & cleanliness-great shopping experience! I have also requested items, such as Braggs Apple cider vinegar with mother & Food4less now has it in stock! Just ask & they will stock it-great prices too! The organic selection in the produce department is awesome! What a selection of healthy, clean produce! Each time I shop I amazed at how clean & reasonable priced all of the produce is. The name is strange...but this store has a lot to offer if you need somewhere to go for lunch. The salad bar is always clean and if something is missing all you need to do is go ask a deli clerk and they will fill it right away. Plus it is very convenient for someone who is in a hurry(i work close and get 30 min lunches) during lunch time. They are very friendley. As far as the grocery shopping goes prices went way up after the grand opening leaving little room to choose between this place and Safeway. You can catch good deals at fork lift but only when you first walk through the door leading to the produce. read more

I've been shopping here since it opened as food4less and the prices were always great, with the new remodel and name change the prices have gone up a little bit however the quality and selection have gone up significantly! It's nice to have a local store which carries lots of organic and local foods. I used to have to drive to edh or folsom but now it's right were I always used to shop anyway, awesome! read more

Still remnants of Food 4 Less as there is not always someone there to bag your groceries and the cashier moves on to the next customer as they don't want to bag either. Really nothing special or unique that you can't find at Raley's or Safeway. read more

I am huge Fork Lift /Nugget costomer been ever since Nugget has come to EDHS, and once Fork Lift was born from food for less I have come back to shop at this location. I freakly stop on my way to work to grab lunch and something for breakfast. But I have been so disappoint in the quality it has had in the past few weeks... soup literly looked like was reheated from the day before and ordered a turkey/ham sandwich that was so terriable had to throw it away, nothing in options on the wall. Finally this week something has changed the wall had so many options that I could grab. So don't know what happen in the past 3 weeks but quality was really down, until finallly this week looks like its back. read more

I love this store. Nice people, great cheese counter, fresh fish and I love the sausage they make. Lucky to have it in Cameron Park.

The good: the store has some decent produce. the butchers are very helpful. Nice check out people working at the registers. The bad: 1. The store was given a facelift and renamed Fork Lift by its parent company. Fork Lift was formerly called Food4Less. In the history of it's operation, Food4Less became just as expensive as Safeway after its parent company invested tons of money into the Nugget Market in El Dorado Hills. Fork Lift is still expensive compared with grocery shopping in Sacramento, but at least they are no longer misrepresenting their store by calling it Food4Less. 2. Something I experienced that was not good: They try not to stand behind the food they sell, and if there is a problem with an item they try to get the consumer to deal with their vendor. Legally, Fork Lift's agreement is with the consumer, and if Fork Lift has purchased defective food from a vendor (some food lots are defective), then they have the responsibility to deal with their vendor. The Penny H. review of Forklift says that Safeway does not remove old food from their daily made food. I assume her concern is primarily for the deli, as day-old bread usually is not dangerous. I am not a fan the Cameron Park Safeway because of cranky employees, but I must point out the following: In regard to Safeway's deli: by law, ALL the food displayed must be tossed at the end of the business day. So it makes me wonder if Penny's review, and perhaps some of the others are unreliable, because some of the glowing the reviews sound like "praise of Fork Lift written by Fork Lift." I am so glad Fork Lift came to our area! It's about time we had a store like it here. Before, my husband and I had to drive down the hill to find any stores like it. We don't do all of our grocery shopping there because the store is a bit pricey on certain daily use items. As a result, we generally buy specialty items that we cannot find at our local grocery stores, and there are some great treasures at Fork Lift! Their deli and bakery sections are superb (their bread varieties are to die for, as well as their delicious prepared foods. My favorite is the broccoli and bacon salad!) The conventional produce is of very good quality and there is a nice selection. And, the price is competitive. We do not buy organic produce, so I cannot comment much on that, except to say that it looks like they have a good selection. If you are looking for natural products, they have a comprehensive health and beauty section, and I have found some terrific products there. Lastly, I have to comment on the staff. Everyone is super helpful and friendly. It makes for a positive shopping experience! read more

I do all my shopping at Forklift now, even though I have to drive about 11 miles to get there. It's a much better store than Safeway or Save Mart. No complaints, except that I wish the prices were lower (they ARE lower than Safeway, and about the same as Save Mart). My only suggestion is that you get rid of the staff cheerleading/motivation sessions. That is what they do in China or N. Korea, not in the U.S. It is very disconcerting to me when I see the Forklift staff being forced to engage in this compelled, phony activity. Please stop doing that. You are disrespecting your employees by requiring them to participate in this. read more

I was a little confused by this store. In a good way. You see, every employee that I saw was very polite, helpful and happy. I don't understand this concept. I am not used to people asking me how I'm doing and saying "Hi" to me for no real reason other than to just be nice. They genuinely seemed to mean it when they asked me how I was doing, too. What is this tom foolery, I wondered. Are they pod people? This can't be natural. I'm not sure but I will definitely have to be back to check this out again and again and, maybe even again. I don't even live anywhere near Cameron Park but I think I might have to join their cult of niceness since it is much more pleasing than the evil place I have been buying my groceries. read more

You might not be aware that the Fork Lift is run by the same folks who run the Nugget Markets. With that, you get the same great service and selection with some surprisingly great values. I suggest you watch their ads and check their Facebook page for deals. We've caught some great bargains on grocery "staples" like bottled water ( $1.98 for a 24 pack ). They have a nice & fresh selection of produce and meats, in addition, they have a cheese and olive bar that rivals any other grocery store in the region. I particularly appreciate their ethnic food offerings. They have a wonderful "spice bar" that lets you buy just the right amount of exotic spice you need for that "special" recipe. They also carry a nice selection of Hispanic and Asian ingredients you don't typically see at your local store ( in the foothills ). When this location was called Food For Less, you had to bag your own groceries. Thankfully, that practice is a thing of the past, and the customer service is excellent. read more

Happy holidays once from Forklift. As usual their key sale item Sunny Valley hams were sold out almost as soon as the ad came out. This seems to be a normal ploy to bring in customer's on holidays. This is the third holiday in a row I went to FL where within the first couple days of their advertised specials they were already sold out. I won't be duped back in the future. Forklift is our family food-shopping favorite. The produce is fresh with many organic choices. The rotisserie chickens are tasty and large enough to use for several dinners (especially salads and quick pasta dishes). We find everything on our grocery list at Forklift with staff who are friendly and genuinely helpful. We also like the wide aisles and never having to wait too long at a register...they open up registers when people start to line up. Great food shopping, great service and we are keeping it local. read more

Have to say I'm pretty impressed with this place. Was concerned when they recently changed from Foodmax, I though their prices would go up. However, pricing is decent and they have great selections of organic/natural foods too. Much better/cleaner than Safeway and WOW the staff is VERY helpful unlike almost any store out there nowadays. Also like the wide isles, clean and working grocery carts, and they try to keep the lines manageable. Will keep coming as long as the prices stay in check and they keep up the great service. read more

The ambience at forklift is very nice. Everything is clean and organized with good lighting and displays. I enjoyed the experience and appreciated that the prices were a little better than nugget. I would compare the price point to that of Raleys. The problem was that I bought a lot of produce and was disappointed when it went bad very quickly. Everything started molding within a few days and had to be thrown out. I also bought eggs and had to throw them away because one of them was literally rotten and smelled disgusting. I have never had that happen with eggs anywhere else I have shopped. I'm not sure what's up with their eggs and produce, but I can't pay Raleys prices and get low-quality food. It was disappointing because I was very much looking forward to shopping here. read more

Set up like a warehouse store but priced higher on most items, priced very similar to Raley's or Bel Air. What is important to note is that this store is owned by Nugget markets but the prices and specials are totally different and vary as much as a dollar difference for the same item depending on which store the sale is at. The Deli is the best feature of the store in my opinion and seems to be always busy. The meat and produce section are good as well. read more

This is a nice store, with great selection. I have been shopping here for years, when it was previously Food for Less. While I am happy that I don't need to drive to Whole Foods anymore in order to pick up those few things I could not get at Food for Less, I will say that the prices have gone up considerably, or at least my weekly shopping bill has. Where I used to spend about $140-$160 per week on my groceries at Food for Less, I am now spending about $200-$210 at Fork Lift. That is just basic groceries, though I do buy the higher quality foods which cost more, but I always did at Food for Less as well. I still prefer this store over the other local stores, but apparently so do a lot of people as I now find the store crowded, and it has slowed down the shopping process as I wait for others and their carts to get a move on. I will continue shopping here but I do miss the prices of Food for Less, as well as the easier shopping experience when they had fewer customers. Staff has been, and continue to be, very nice and helpful. I do not care for the name Fork Lift. It gives the impression that this is a warehouse style store, but it is not! I have a friend who won't even try the store because the name gives her the impression that it is a warehouse store. Far from it. read more
