My wife and I stopped in for a tour recently to see what they had to offer. I was formerly a member when they first opened, at the previous location, which was many years ago. It was impressive to see how far they've come, and how much they have to offer. Glen and Steve gave us a tour, and answered our questions.
In addition to a full wood and metal shop, they offer 3d printing, laser etching/engraving, ceramics, and much more. The wood and metal shops have now been equipped with some impressive CNC capabilities.
They offer a good variety of classes and will help members learn to use any of the equipment in the shop, so they feel comfortable using it on their own. Members have access to the spaces 24/7, which is nice, but it certainly comes at a price. The monthly membership fee is $85, which if you live near by and can get in their regularly, probably isn't bad, but for people that can only get in there once in a while, it's a bit more than I'd be interested in paying.
I can appreciate the concept, and the availability of machinery and resources. It's certainly a good option for those in need that have no other access or space for equipment at their home. read more
