Peacehaven Farm welcomed my work event with open arms. We provided community service to the farm through weeding, picking vegetables, shoveling dirt, moving picnic tables, but also creating community in unity with one another. Peacehaven Farm is growing by leaps and bounds, and is currently renovating a large barn to be an event space. I look forward to returning to Peacehaven to volunteer in the future and attend events they offer. The value is in the people that live at Peacehaven Farm, as it provides opportunity for individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities. read more

Today we celebrated the life of my friend, Mike Farrell, by serving at Peachaven Farms. Peacehaven did a wonderful job of welcoming us and explaining to us what they are about, and what we could do to help. We worked hard and they provided everything for our project. The project leader was so kind and helpful, always answering with a smile. The head honcho, Buck, was so grateful for our service, and really understood our need to honor our dear friend. We had 40 people, which was a large group for the small area we were in, but they made sure we all felt a part of what was going on. They made sure the day was "ours" so that we could talk about Mike, and do whatever felt like we were honoring him. We will be going back next year, but maybe even before then! read more
