However, the one upside down thing I have is they need to have a menu for diabetics. Unfortunately, I was not able to eat many. Parts of the meal because they were carbs. However, I was able to substitute it with salad. And with no problem, they would bring it to me promptly. Other than that, this facility is a wonderful place. I had a great experience with Amada Senior Care in West Covina. I had a situation where a friend…read morewas incapacitated and in need of 24 hour care upon being released from the hospital. I live 60 miles away from my friend and could not take care of her needs. I was also her POA. I had no idea who to call. I googled Senior care in her area and Amada came up with a few others. I called and within 3 hours I had an excellent caregiver at my friend's home to assess her and begin caring for her. Took the worry away from me. ReAnne, the owner helped me with everything. She scheduled all the caregivers my friend needed. She needed 24 hour care from the beginning until she passed a month later. As sad and hard as it was, they did a wonderful job and were compassionate people. My friend was well taken care of. There were 3 or 4 different caregivers and all of them were very nice and did everything they could. My friend had to be re-admitted 2 times to the hospital. They took care of getting the ambulances and staying with her until she was either released or admitted. Ameda has access to all other fields needed for someone with home care. Medical people, physical therapy, whatever your person needs. Although my friend passed, Ameda Senior Care took good care of her. I would absolutely recommend and use them again. I am happy to see the cleanliness of this place. While walking in the lobby, you'll encounter a front desk reception area where you sign in. The receptionist and the security in the evening were both very nice when greeting you. You'll sign in their log in clip board, and then you'll get a visitor's stickers before going inside. The hallways are bright and we'll lit. Lots of nursing staff members working. And everything seems orderly. I'm not sure about the doctors working, I didn't see any around, nor did I had a chance to meet any docs, but I assume they come around during the day. Regardless of the lower ratings here, I'm not sure why, but everyone seemed professional and we're doing what they needed to do... cater to the patients. Unfortunately, my experience here was short lived as a visitor. My aunt passed away a couple of weeks after getting admitted here. I honestly hope it's not true from the other people's reviews here, about their loved ones leaving this world after getting admitted to this facility. Is the cleanliness and the nice staff members at the facility a big facade? I hope not. But a nurse did mention to me about my aunt being in that condition and is suffering... blah blah... that she's better leaving the world so she won't be suffering anymore. I partly agree, but it's all about God's timing. She shouldn't be saying that in the first place to anybody, especially family. It's too uncomfortable for some people to hear even though the facts are there. Anyhow, back to the facility. The parking situation is horrible. You will have to park all the way in the back parking lot. The parking spots right behind the building is for the handicap, and part of that lot is also used for storing old beds. On the other hand, the front parking lot at the entrance is for doctors only and the handicap. They should just use the rear of the building as their main entrance instead of making visitors walk all the way to the front. I'm not sure I know how to rate this place. Cleanliness is four stars, staff is four stars, but the comments made by a nurse is unacceptable, so three stars, and the parking situation is a definite one star. So overall experience and still being nice, I'll give them a weak 3.1 stars. Imo, please do your research for any of these nursing hospitals before admitting a loved one.
