I am extremely disappointed with my experience with Forever Studios. I paid for the "Forever Gold HD" and "Exclusive HDR Upscaling" add‑on for 16 film reels. When I received the final videos, it was immediately clear that the HDR enhancement did not work. Many reels were very dark with no visible improvement. After researching the issue, I learned that HDR enhancement is not technically possible on underexposed film reels. Older film does not contain the dynamic‑range data needed for HDR, and no software can create detail that was never captured. In other words, the HDR upgrade they sold me cannot function on this type of material. Because of this, I contacted Forever Studios to request a refund for the HDR charge. Here is the exact timeline: * My initial message explained that HDR upscaling cannot work on underexposed film and that the service they sold me was technically impossible. I requested a refund of $85.60 (the HDR charge for all 16 reels). * Their response: "We've shared your message with our Project Manager and Owner... We will follow up with you as soon as possible." No explanation. No answer. No timeline. * My follow‑up: "It's pretty straightforward -- film reels can't accommodate this, so the upsell was inappropriate." No response. * My next follow‑up: "Hello, I have asked several times for a direct answer and have not received one. HDR enhancement is not technically compatible with the type of film reels I submitted. Selling an upgrade that cannot function on this material is an inappropriate upsell. I am requesting a refund of $85.60 for the HDR charge. Please process this refund or provide a clear confirmation of when it will be issued." Still no response. * Phone call: I was told they would "follow up with the technicians to see what went wrong." Nothing "went wrong" -- HDR enhancement simply cannot be applied to this type of film. They never followed up. Summary: * They sold me an enhancement that is not technically possible for film reels. * I provided detailed explanations and multiple follow‑ups. * They acknowledged my messages but never provided a real answer. * They have ignored my refund request entirely, and it is only for the additional $5.00 + tax per reel ($85.60 total). This is not acceptable customer service, and it is misleading to sell an HDR enhancement for material that cannot support it. I hope this review helps others avoid the same experience. read more

We priced out a few VHS to USB transfer companies and were informed from various people not to send our priceless VHS family memories through the mail. After a diligent online search we found a company called Forever Studios with excellent reviews on Yelp and Google. We called them directly to obtain information on their product, process and pricing. The customer service was helpful and we brought our twenty VHS and CAM video tapes to their Boca Raton office the next day. The business was located right off Clint Moore Rd in a warehouse business complex with plenty of up front parking. There were customers inside the small showroom but only waited about five minutes and met with the sales person, Gaby. She easily explained the process to transfer my twenty videos to a USB which would permit me with versatile use of my old family videos. The only upsell was the basic Standard definition to High definition. Also, there was a four to six week time frame for a finished product or pay an extra $75.00 for an "Order Rush" for a guarantee completion within seven days, both were worth the price. They also offer custom framing for acrylic and canvas photos. Gaby took us on a tour of their production room where an entire wall of active VHS machines were in the process of transferring memories and other videos to USB. Loved the old film projectors in the back of the store, which brought back memories of the old days. Basically, it was a big room of video nostalgia. The finished product was ready to pick up in four days and paid $370.00 for 20 videos including the upgrades. We brought home the USB popped it into our computer and watched our 20 - 30 year old family videos for several hours. The definition was exactly what was expected and easily transferred the videos to our desktop and drop box and transferred them to other family members. I made an online order on 01/19/2026 for transferring one VHS tape into digital file (I even paid extra $5 for gold enhancement). It took more than two weeks to receive and return the shipping box from and back to Foreverstudios (02/03). I waited for another 18 days (02/21) before receiving the finished by downloading from the cloud. Despite the long waiting, the result of the tape transfer is horrible: a blue screen appears every 5-10 seconds that makes the video unwatchable. After receiving my tape back from Foreverstudios, I brought it to a local shop to check if it is my VHS tape at fault, but it's not. The tape plays fine and video/sound quality is pretty good, so I let the shop to do the digital transfer for me. I received the digital transferred file within a week and the quality is more than satisfactory. The new file is 5 giga bytes in size, while the one did by Foreverstudios is a little more than 1 gigabytes. I made a formal complaint to Foreverstudios and asked for a refund, but got no response. I can't recommend Forever Studios enough. The professionalism and care they put into my request was beyond my imagination. I started with wanting to transfer a 8 mm video to digital as a surprise for my sister. I was very nervous about giving it to anyone because this video was priceless because it was of her son who passed away and I couldn't let anything happen to it. After speaking to Stan and Gaby, my fears were put to ease. They walked me right through the process. So, I thought well if they can do that can they help me with a picture of my younger sister and I that was taken at the fair in the early 70's that got water damage to it. I sent them a copy of the original, a copy of the button that also had the picture and I sent them an AI version from Gemini. They restored the picture to the exact original. I order a printed copy and I will surprise that sister with that photo. Now, I am on a roll. So, while on the phone with Gaby, I presented her with the impossible. My sister (the first one in this review) had a graduation picture that was lost. She posted that picture on Facebook. I downloaded that picture to my phone and sent it to Gaby and asked if they could restore it. What makes it impossible, the picture had 3 wallet size pictures in 3 of the corners of the frame that covered some of the graduation picture. They were able to restore it with no problem. They also took one of the wallet size pictures that was the cap and grown picture and created a 8x10 for me. I was simply amazed at how they were able to tears to my eyes. I wish I could post pictures of the before and after because this review doesn't do them justice on what they can do. I will always refer them and go back for any other needs I may have. Exactly What We Wanted We had a dozen old 19 MM tapes from the 1950's, VCR tapes from the 1980's, and 15 or so Hi8MM tapes from around 2000. All were flawlessly executed after waiting many years. New to the photo preservation world, I was interested in restoring and colorizing three precious family photos. I tried two different services both of which presented communication difficulties immediately. Then I found Forever Studios online. The first phone contact resolved all of my questions. I just got the images back and I am beyond pleased. The photos were from 1880, 1920 and 1940. One was oddly finished and difficult to see. Another was badly damaged. All were restored beyond my expectations. I was attended to by Zachary and Kayla by phone and chat. They were wonderful and very understanding with my lack of experience in photo restoration. When I sent in my home movies they were promising a return before Christmas if they received them by a certain date. Well, they got to their address on that date, and sure enough, I got them on Christmas Eve. Fantastic turnaround time - especially compared to LegacyBox, which is being heavily promoted on radio. The digitized results were great and made it easy for me to edit out the blank/bad parts before I made copies for all my relatives. When going through my late mother's things I discovered a very old family photo of my great grandmother and seven other family members at her old homeplace. I remember the photo but hadn't seen it in years. My mother had carefully labeled who everyone in the picture is by their position in the photo. However, she didn't secure the picture safely where it wouldn't get damaged. The photo wasn't is great shape anymore. Also, the original photo had a "swirl" effect taking away from the image. I decided to send this photo to Forever Studios for restoration. I made a scan of the photo using a high resolution setting. I sent the photo to them via their website. The did a great job of restoring my special family picture. I received my image by downloading it digitally from a link they sent me after I approved the proof they sent me. I also ordered a 4 X 6 printed on archival quality paper. What I have ended up with is a restored photo of my ancestors that was taken in 1912 or 1913. I can see the facial features of my family members now. I have visual image of my great grandmother, who I was blessed to have known, at age five or six. The service they provided is priceless. I had some very old VHS tapes converted to DVD by Forever Studios and am so happy I did. Thes tapes were from the mid 80s and the equipment back then was subpar, as was the quality of my tapes. They came out wonderfully. The company was responsive and they offer free local pickup and delivery. I sent them tapes I had mismarked so wound up throwing away 5 of the DVDs which were old soap operas so that was a waste of money. Not their fault though....that was all me. great Experience! i helped coach the school I wrestled at 20 years ago and found a bunch of old cam corder tapes of my myvteams matches, after putting them all onto the cloud I was able to cut out my matches from each tape and make a dvd for my 78 year old dad, and also show my wrestlers my old matches. gave the old coach the dvds from all the cam corder videos, shared the drive with my old teammates and It really was such a priceless nastalgic experience for all of us! Needed some pictures enlarged for my mothers funeral and they came out pixelated and dark. They wanted $200 to enlarge 5 pictures and made no mention of a $200 rush fee when I inquired on the phone earlier that day. Once I was in the store...all of a sudden there is a rush fee...why wouldn't they say that on the phone before I got there. On top of the photos coming out dark and pixelated...when I went to pick up the pictures that I specifically told them was for my mothers funeral....the guy said "Merry Christmas" as they hand me my mothers photos. I was very disappointed with Forever Studios. The quality of the work itself was fine, the videos had a few artifacts from transfer but nothing I didn't anticipate. They get two stars instead of one because I *eventually* got the work promised. The service was abysmal. Forever Studios has a two week guarantee plastered all over their website. It took over 6 weeks to complete my order. I placed my initial order on Nov 29th. After a week of silence, I called them to schedule a pickup. I was never able to reach them via email, I emailed them on Dec 12, 16, and Jan 2. I never heard back there. I did occasionally get in touch with them over the phone. Every time I got through they told me "it would be ready next week." I had told them I was really hoping to have the digital copies before Christmas. On Dec 23 I received a phone call that the order was again delayed. The representative asked me repeatedly "is that okay?" as though they expected me to berate them (I didn't). They finally got me a downloadable copy on January 10th. As another note, they seemed very confused that the physical tapes were at my grandparents in Boca Raton and I live in New York City. I can't imagine this is an uncommon case in Boca. I get it. I placed the order during the holidays, people were off or they were busy. But at the end of the day I paid $816 for them to transfer 40 video tapes and as an "apology" they gave me a $25 gift card, as though I'll be using their service again. In the future I'll try legacy box. This was so much more of a hassle than just mailing the tapes. read more

I needed some images for a new website that I'm developing. Had my assistant take a look around Boca and she found Forever Studios. Comparing their website to others on the short list, I decided to book an executive photo shoot. I am so glad that I did. Making my appointment online was simple. On the day of my shoot, I drove over there and arrived ten minutes early. The studio is in the back of their retail location. The store is very nice. Parking was easy too. I walked right in and met Lucy Villafranco. She made me feel very welcome. We sat down and talked a few minutes about what the images are for then she took me into their studio. I had an hour to shoot, but Lucy wasn't watching the clock. We went more like 90 minutes. She gave me clear direction, and was super friendly. It was like spending time with an old friend. Lucy made me feel totally comfortable and I had a lot of fun during the shoot. Afterwards, I received an email with over 300 proofs. In my entire adult life, I have never had this many GREAT pictures taken of myself. It was really tough to narrow down to 40 images, let alone the 5 that came with the package. The lightning was great, and I look my best in so many pics. I know I'll be using these images online and on my social media profiles for the next couple of years. The owner of this fine business was wise to put Lucy Villafranco in charge of managing "the store" and anointing her senior photographer. Lucy is experienced beyond her years, being both friendly and patient as well. Her only interests are in "getting it right" and in satisfying her client. I found Forever's package deals packed with value. They are detailed on its site in "plain English." I chose the Executive package. For a one hour shoot, I was entitled to 5 wardrobe changes and we reviewed hundreds of shots (together) until we reached the best 5. The cost was (reasonable to me) $195. Kudos also to Lucy's assistant Madison whose phone manner and in-person customer relations skills (with me and with others) deserve to be emulated by the likes of Comcast, Bank of America, and A T & T. read more

Horrible Horrible service. I sent forever studio a music tape to be transferred to MP3, I even upgraded to the premium package which says they will do Premium sound quality & EQ enhancement. The file I received back as their premium package was of horrible quality. I reached out to them via chat on their website.I was told they will look into it but nothing, kept getting back the same file no changes made. The third time I reached out to them they kept telling me my tape was old & making excuses for the crappy job they had done. The tape I sent them it's not even a year old and was played a few a few times when I tried to to transfer it myself at home. Very upsetting to believe you'll get a good sound product back and instead you get a nasty crappy one back. Guess lesson learned, should've stayed with my own transfer that sounds 10000X better. I came to Forever Studios (at the recommendation of a family member) to get some professional portraits taken, for business purposes. Fortunately, the booking process was fairly straightforward; I simply reserved a time and date on their website and then received confirmation. I was even able to select a background ahead of time. The studio is located in a strip mall in East Boca. I was greeted by the photographer, who took me back to the studio right away. She was very friendly, patient, and a good portrait coach at the same time! The photography session took only a few minutes, and once that was finished, I was able to sit down with her and review the "raw" pictures one at a time. We then narrowed down the shots to the best ones that were included in my package (and what I had paid for). I actually ended up paying a bit extra for another shot at a different angle, which looked great but be prepared to do this if you're a bit on the indecisive side. After that, all that was left to do was receive the shots (they will digitally touch them up) by email. She advised it could take up to 24 hours, but I actually received the pictures less than 12 hours later. They all came out fantastic! Exactly what I was looking for. Overall, I had a great experience using Forever Studios this time, and would gladly try them again for any additional photography needs. I feel the prices are a bit on the steep side (for the small amount of pictures included in a package), but well worth it for the quality. read more

Contacted this business because of all the great Google reviews. Not sure what happened but I received one of the worst services. I had to ask for my own photo because I did not receive it on time. The man I spoke to who claimed to be the owner was unprofessional & rude. After finally receiving my photo, there was a random piece of flesh on my great-grandfather's neck. After complaining, I received a "fixed" version that was worse quality than the first. Later, I had to ask for my black & white copy that I paid for as I never had received it either. I would not recommend this "photo restoration business". I would have been better off purchasing the program myself & editing the photo on my own. read more

My third review for 2017. But first a little background. My 2 business partners and I recently purchased a RE/MAX franchise and wanted to take photos to kick off a massive ad campaign. We live in Miami so we started our search in Dade County. We found one that said they had a "Studio", little did we know that was code for someone's apartment in the Design District. Not only that but the photographer had his own vision in mind that did not mesh with ours so we walked out. We started our search again but this time we included Broward, and West Palm. We chose Forever Studios because they had a great website and a real Studio. We got there on time and met Corey, one of the owners and the photographer. We told him what we wanted, changed clothes and the session started. At the end I asked him to take a few shots from a higher angle and he was happy to do it. Afterwards he took us to his conference room handed us his I-pad and told us to chose the ones we liked. He then walked out of the room and gave us enough time to decide. I love that! No pressure tactics, no trying to up sell us. About a week later we received the photos via email and wanted to have a few modifications done. We contacted Corey and he was more than happy to oblige. Our vision had become a reality and now we are able to begin our ad campaign. The 50 miles up and 50 miles down from Brickell to Boca Raton was more than worth it. The examples that they show sure aren't what you get. I wish I could find someone who does the type of work that Forever advertises because that's not near the results I received. I emailed an old newspaper picture (one that they showed could be done very well) and it back back looking like dolls.
