I brought my twin 10 year old daughters in, on a whim, for a hair cut today. The place is very…read moreclean, the staff was very nice; I even chatted with the woman at the front about her daughter's wedding. My daughters both had 2" taken off the length, and one only had a bang trim. I was applauded when I was told the bill was $90! I did read the menu prices on the wall and knew that they consider a child 6 years or younger only; I understood that I had to pay women's prices for my children. The price listed on the wall was that women's haircuts start at $30 and go up. Since there was no layering and their hair is shoulder length, $30 each child was appropriate. The nice woman, whose daughter's wedding is next year, yelled from the back that she asked me if I wanted the girls' hair washed and I said yes. I did, but there is no price listed on the wall for hair washing. I am 49 and never, ever have I been " a la carted" for a basic hair wash when my hair is cut. I then went on to itemize her reasoning: $30/child's cut, and $15/ child's basic hair wash. Did I buy the bottles for the week! After the staff all spoke in Hindi so I couldn't understand, they said they'd charge $5/ child's hair wash. I had only $20 bills in cash on me and didn't want to use a debit card, so I handed over $80 and left. The $10 I left was the tip. Horrible, Horrible, Horrible business ethic. Never again!

I was initially hesitant after reading reviews and experiencing a delay on their end in scheduling…read moreme. However, they seem to have changed their tune for Groupon sales and I was booked for last week. Upon entering, I was greeted by the man at the front desk (possibly the owner) and taken to a nice room in the back (which looked like someone's living room) to fill out forms. As soon as I was finished, my masseuse (Nikki) was ready to begin. I have had massages my whole life, at student clinics, Hand & Stone chains, and by individual longtime professionals. Nikki did not spend a lot of time on consultation, but she did ask about the lower back pain I had indicated on the forms and was very friendly in general. Most importantly, she was among the better masseuses I have ever had. Her pressure was firm, which I love, and her technique was excellent! She also put a hot towel over my eyes when I was on my back, which added to my relaxation. Next I was given a robe and cover-up and sent across the hall for the facial. I believe her name was Debbie and she was super nice. I have never had a facial before, and when I told her, she was happy to explain the materials she was using on me. At one point she worked on my blackheads which was painful but definitely effective. She must have used five or six different treatments on me, including a sulfur treatment for acne, and she knew her stuff for sure. The hand paraffin treatment was also interesting and left my hands feelings very soft. Afterwards, I was asked to pay $7 for sales tax which seemed reasonable, I'm not really sure if this is the industry standard though. The front desk man also offered me the same deal again, good for one year, but of course charged through the spa and not through Groupon! Unfortunately I was not able to pay in advance so I declined, but I thought this was a smart business move just the same. Although I am from the area, I am currently living out of state so I cannot say if I will be back soon or not. However, I definitely recommend this place since their massages are cheaper than most, and Nikki was excellent. Also, if you have a groupon, don't be afraid to call it in! I'm glad this place seems to have gotten their act together.

I absolutely loved the place- the atmosphere was nice, the staff friendly, and my massage therapist, Nikki, was amazing. They honored the Groupon and all I had to cover was tax (in Groupon agreement) and the tax was $3. I loved it so much I scheduled my next one which they gave me the Groupon price again! I arrived a tad early so I could fill out the initial form and was seen on time. I had purchased the Swedish Massage thru Groupon and Nikki did an amazing job, applying a tad more pressure based on my needs. She was quiet too. Perfect relaxation to me. The rooms were clean, smelled great, and the lighting was serene. I'm looking forward to going back and have recommended this place to my friends. I've been to many massage spas and this is in my top three.

Blown away!! If youre looking for an amazing and skilled waxer for a Brazilian, LYDIA is your girl!…read moreNot only have I been getting waxed for over 10 years, but I am actually a former longtime wax specialist myself, so I am extremely picky and wouldn't be writing this is if it wasn't true. Although I have since changed careers altogether, I am typically able to wax myself... that is, until I got pregnant and it became an impossible task. Next came the seemingly impossible task of finding a waxer I could trust to get me through the next few months of my pregnancy. I booked with Lydia based off of a few glowing reviews, but still had my apprehension... its totally a control thing, trusting someone to do to you what you yourself are an expert in! Whats the saying.. doctors are the worst patients? Anyway, I braced myself for some discomfort and was pleasantly surprised by Lydias amazing painless technique. She is such a sweet girl to talk to as well! My wax was flawless and I immediately rebooked. What a relief to not have to worry about waxing with a new wax specialist I can trust, so close to home! ALSO- I didnt see it mentioned in reviews, but to anyone wondering, Waxing the City DOES use Hard/Stripless Wax on Brazilian waxes.. not soft wax... just an FYI as everyone told me they only used soft wax!

So disappointed....I used to come here religiously for Michelle (she no longer works here). As you…read morecan see, all the great reviews with pictures mention her. Anyway, when she left, I decided to not bother taking the drive here and found a great place by my house. Long story short, I'm leaving for vacation and my girl wasn't available so I came here and asked for a recommendation for someone to do my brows. What I got was a mess! When I saw the one brow I immediately told the girl that I usually don't take that much off and she, visibly seeing I wasn't happy, said my eyebrow was already messed up (it wasn't). The wax felt fine going on and I do not have sensitive skin but there is some kind of stinging welt beneath the eyebrow that got messed up. Nothing could be done so I didn't say anything more and I left. I called the owner 15 minutes later because I was too upset after looking at my brows in the car and she said I would be offered a refund and to go to someone named Lidia next time. She called me back a couple hours later and she said she talked to the girl and the girl explained everything she did to me during my session. I don't know how that's relevant. Explaining what you did doesn't make me like the outcome. The owner said the girl who did my brows "does them all day" and that "no one has ever complained". That was the end of the conversation. I didn't receive a refund and I will not be going back. The proof is in the pictures.

I recently visited One Beauty Salon and had a highly disappointing experience. First and foremost,…read morethe salon's hygiene standards were severely lacking. I requested a pillow for my back and as you can see in the pictures. I got a stained, disgusting pillow that I had to use for the entire treatment. On top of that, cotton swab I used kept leaving fibers behind on my face, in my mouth; it's just all so gross! The salon was not transparent about their pricing. I got a gift card for Mother's Day, and instead of regular facial, I wanted to go with Hydrafacial instead. The website quoted $175 online, but when I was done, I was told that the prices have increased, and they charged me $200 instead of honoring the price they had online. Mind you not, I still tipped 20% on the service. Finally, they did not have a relaxing experience. The room is right behind their store (Shiseido). The tech kept the figure white light on the entire team, used her iPad to play calming music, and I felt like I was in a football stadium the whole time. She didn't even cover my eyes, and had the light beaming on my face the entire time. The treatment was painful, and that's something that wasn't conveyed before either. Overall I loved Olivia because of the massage she gave me in the end. But overall; the salon did not follow through with what they promised on their website. The treatments and services advertised were vastly different in quality from what was delivered. I would not recommend this salon to anyone looking for a reliable and hygienic facial experience. RIDICULOUSLY OVERPRICED & EXTREMELY GHETTO!!

And when I realize (as she already knew ) that the other color wasn't me, she will bring me back the same day, redo my nails without hesitation, and make sure I leave happy. She has even stayed late for me more than once -- all with kindness, humor, and zero judgment. That level of care is everything. That kind of consistency and heart is rare, and it's why I will always be loyal to her. The salon itself is clean, warm, and welcoming. Every staff member is friendly and professional, and the environment truly reflects how much they value their clients.
